  • Today I will show you how to catch those classic Dimebag Darrell harmonic squeals on the guitar. Takes a bit of practice to get the hang of but once you do, you'll be annoying the hell out of your neighbors in no time.

      @@americanmetalhead3954 well dime would 2 as well, tho its rly difficult. I have heard to get a harmonic on 2 you need a wah pedal

    Lol I remember the first time I tried to attempt to do it it was hard but it's easy now and I learned how to do the squeals from watching a video of Dimebag showing how he pulls those high pitch squeals

    Damn man, that stealth is awsome. I just got a DFH. I've wanted one for 25 years but now that they may stop making them, I figured I'd better pull the trigger. Lol it's my first Floyd guitar, and obviously I need to learn how to squeel. I've been playing Pantera songs forever, but this is a different ball game with this Floyd stuff. Thanks for the lesson.

    Joe Satriani does a version of this also its just less versatile note wise ... Use your pick on the open G string to do a normal pinch harmonic (I find that the sweet spot is close or on top of the neck pickup) while you use you fret hand to dive and drive the bar ..Clear differences but same amazing trick.

    That tone is awesome! What’s the plug-in you’re using? 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 I mostly use STL Tones Amphub. But I have an EVH 5150iii and Marshall JVM205H.

    My Dime washburn was so neck heavy i got rid of it ,any of you had the same problem?like if you wore a strap and let it hang the headstock goes strait down to the floor ,yall have that issue?

      On some guitars but usually you can move the strap button to resolve that issue

      True, but there's an alternative: using an equalizer in place of Wah pedal (whether graphic or parametric doesn't matter) and boosting the frequency range somewhere between 1.5 and 2.5 kHz - optimally hitting the exact freq. spot where your highest harmonic squeal is. Stomp-box version would be the most convenient - we're enabling it only for this effect.

      It does happen from time to time but after some practice of feeling out how to use the whammy bar and feeling the tention on the strings, you can almost feel there breaking point

      @@leterrip5414 I use DR strings for this reason .Ive gotten over hyped and pulled the bar all the way to the body and they held ... Your gunna have to really yank on that bar to pop one (post stretching ) ..I normally change the strings based on perceived old age now because I dont break them often enough .

    I literally broke all my strings .-.
    (Didn’t adjust my Floyd correctly but the worst pain is that I just changed my strings just for this tutorial to get a great tone and they were actually the last Zakk Wylde Dunlop Set In my guitar store... life sucks :/)

      The whammy pedal takes notes and can change the octave of it both lower and higher... But if you do add the whammy pedal to the Dimebag squeals like he does somethimes, those notes will be even higher.
