Rockstar Eater visits Café Sierra, which is a high end buffet restaurant in the Hilton Hotel in Universal City, next to Universal Studios Theme Park. Many people call this the best buffet in LA, and for good reason. For $85 on Saturday nights, you get all you can eat lobsters, crab legs, and oysters, plus a fantastic dessert bar. Café Sierra has everything from the salad bar to hot entrees to sushi to prime rib carving station.

Depends on the value of the buffet. The Sterling in Las Vegas was $125 but you get expensive champagne and king crab legs.
The most so far that I spent on a buffet was at bacchanal buffet. I've been there many times. I'm willing to try a buffet almost at any price if it's really good. It's good to treat yourself from time to time

$85 would be totally reasonable! I just looked at their website though, and the listed price is $139 per person on a Saturday night. That’s more than a 50% increase 😳

$85 is totally not reasonable. Most people who eat at Sierra are guest of the hotel and most of them are Asians with money. I have been there years ago and it was $44 including lobster. Now $139 is more than ridiculous. In Las Vegas you can get good, really good buffets for about $30 of the strip of course. Found one for $40 that included lobster and a bunch of different crab legs and free parking. $139 can feed 3 people.
That’s ridiculous 139 for adult I wonder for the kids 5-11. Not worth the money so expensive! I can afford 85 not 139.

I would like to go but i read many reviews on yelp , it’s just too many negative. Like the quality and taste is like the regular $25 chinese buffets .
Have you tried the Lux buffet ? Lobsters is available on Saturday for $45 i think .

$85 seafood buffet is worth to go. We been to Red lobster eat all you can years ago in florida only cost $35 each that was amazing then we had antihistamine tablets cause we itch like mad but it was wonderful. We try to go in the seafood buffet in LA next year

The Cafe Sierra buffet has been going for many years now. The last time I was there was probably back in 2015 or 2016. It looks like there's been a major UPGRADE to the buffet. The Chinese food looks amazing for a buffet. Totally impressed with the selection and quality. Glad to see a premium buffet going strong! Yes!

$85 is cheap compared to the all you can eat lobster oysters and crabs we have here at the Mauna Kea resort on the Big Island of Hawaii. Last we paid pre-Covid was $125

Thanks for the video Steve, last time we went there, the "hot" dishes were cold or lukewarm. The Seafood selection was good and worth the price. Get there early for the waitlist!

@@richardt1792 Pennsylvania, a couple weeks back my food store had 4oz tails for $6 that's $24 a pound. We use to go to Maine all the time. They steam lobster right on the docks. We use to sit there and eat tons of lobster for $2.99 a pound. Once we each got 5 pound lobsters, it was like $20. This week my food store has snow crab legs for $14.99 lb.

I just checked the Hilton website, and now they are charging $25 for EACH steamed lobster. THIS is on top on the $85 you pay for the Buffet. I think I will be skipping this one. I'll just take a drive to Vegas and enjoy the Wynn Buffet! and it cost less than this one, without the extra charge for lobster.
If you look in the hot section, the lobster thermidor is still offered as part of the ayce. The steamed lobster is a diferent choice and is a very recent edition to the menum
We were there 3 weeks ago, their lobsters are not the same anymore! Lobsters are NOT FRESH! Lobsters were firm and chewy, now the lobsters meat fell apart and they tried to mask it with cream and mushrooms on top! Oysters are small and wrinkly! we went there every year it gets worse but the price keeps going up($85/person) used to be $65!!

I’m from Bakersfield, and there’s a buffet in Burbank near the promenade. They use to have cold oysters there, but as of recent they started cooking them... It’s a good spot to eat for $24 per person.

Unlike everyone else I was not impressed. Went there last Saturday after watching the video, the Lobster is not fresh, maybe we are the first wave, the Lobster is not hot, its warm at best. Same with all the dishes, its mainly warm, not hot. The Prime Rib station has 2 meat, the Prime Rib was over cook, only thing I really enjoy is the fresh cooked pasta station. Maybe I am just too picky from eating at specialize restaurant and Buffet is not my thing. If you are a foodie I would suggest to eat specialize restaurant and away from Buffet. But Thank you for the video, maybe I just had bad luck arrived too early and the food was prepared too early and it got warmed.

Gluttony abundant and rampant in our culture.
I was there 5 days ago for Saturday dinner. It was not good. The lobsters were not fresh at all - the flesh was mushy, the flavor was mediocre. The ribeye was a bit chewy and not much flavorful. The other dishes were just average. I was very disappointed(paid more than $400) and won't go back.
I gotta be honest, I disagree. I was there last week by myself lol. And the food was so delicious. I don’t think I ever ate that much. Don’t even get me started on dessert lol.
But I will say that the crab legs were average. Still good tho.

We used to eat there in the 90s thay also had king crab and abalone for $50 good to see the place is still around during the week it used to be a French restaurant you need to try itvefy ggod.
