When it comes to protecting their young, Canada Geese are without peers. They become totally fearless, so much so even giving them food won't stop them.
Amazing video!! I was curious where one of the babies gone, we have little babies haches a week ago on our backyard lake. There were 5 at the beginning but now 4😢 now I see what might happened. I also curious how come this pair have soooo many babies? Were there a few families combined?
There was this raccoon in my backyard , he constantly hunted and ate baby chicks and even targeted a feral cats kittens. The next day I gave the same raccoon food and waited for it get close and got a good headshot, made a hat out of it 😂
@RuneBa1 what an awful thing to do. If you would have put out cat food or some dog food. The raccoons would have eaten that instead of the chicks. They are hungry and looking for something to eat. They don't understand it hey these are someone's chicks I'm not supposed to eat them. As for it going after your cat's. That's bullcrap. I'm not saying it wouldn't get ahold of a kitten if it was hungry. Raccoons are very misunderstood animals. Be kind to all wildlife. Nobody wants their chicks or anything like that eaten but understand they are hungry. Humans are taking so much of their habitat away that there having to go into people's backyards to eat.
Ofc it's our call, even Orangutans have been documented trying to save a human it perceived to be drowning. If you want to be lesser than an ape that's your call.
That guy shouldn't interfere by trying to kick away the raccoon. The raccoon can't go to a supermarket, it has to hunt to survive. How would he like it if someone kicked him while he was trying to eat some chicken?
No that was fully okay, the human also a part of this world and the nature, it is up to him whether he intervenes or not. It would be no different if a larger predator had been present and snatched the prey away from the raccoon, thats nature. I bet you only wanted to see a nice show, eh?
Imagine a bear attacked the racoon while he was trying to eat the gosling. We (humans) already interfere with nature, why not this time? Why is it ok to take away so much of where these animals live to build a city but not ok to help one
Technically, just feeding the geese is interfering. I have no problem with the guy chasing away the raccoon, honestly. I'm sure the raccoon found something else to eat. It's an urban area. I doubt it's going to starve.
I know the nature documentary photographers would never interfere because their job is to capture the nature without human encroachment and by interfering, they become a participant in the show that they don’t belong in. I don’t think the guy has that same sense of duty, so it is really just up to him.

Nature's chicken nuggets

Finally the geese are defending instead of just attacking at random
They don't attack at random, they defend their nests, eggs, and goslings.

To be honest, though, watching the Cobra Chickens attack random people just for walking past them is quite amusing.
These are hoarder parents, protecting goslings from multiple parents. They tend to be the best protective parents, which makes them very successful.

They are courageous, no doubt.

Raccoons are omnivores. By the setting it’s in, there are many things it could eat instead of a gosling
