The Houston Rockets, Brooklyn Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers pulled a league shaking trade that sent James Harden to the Nets. This video explains the winners and losers with every team involved looking a lot different. The Nets championship window is open now and they gave up their future by way of draft picks to H-Town. The Rockets added Victor Oladipo but will that be enough to make noise in the postseason added with John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Christian Wood, etc.? This video explores it all.

In both games 6 and 7 they were leading at the half. I completely agree the following season they got kicked right in the nuts even with a healthy CP3 and an Injured KD but that Harden MVP season they were the closest to breaking the warriors

You say that the Rockets weren’t successful because they let him do whatever he wants without accountability. Why do we think that the Nets are any different? Dipo was gone at the end of the season. Pacers got a young player under contract for the next 3 years who puts up almost the same numbers as Dipo. Dipo will most likely not resign with Houston.
Lavert is bettee fit for Indy and is basically the same player only bigger

As a rockets fan i have nothing but love for Harden. I'll always remember the 3 he hit to beat GS in Oracle. I've never felt more hyped as a houston sports fan. The way he forced himself out is a shame, but i can't hate on him for it

With the move to Brooklyn James Harden’s metamorphosis to Tracey Chapman is nearly complete.
I’m surprised that nobody’s brought this up but given the spike in Covid cases is it really wise for a team to trade not just it’s future but it’s bench depth NOW, especially when two of the Nets three stars don’t seem to take social distancing all that seriously?

Personally the 2017-2018 rockets was the perfect balance to harden iso/play making and then the addition of clutch cp3 and ofc is playmaking ability. The 2018-2019 year cp3/ Eric Gordon/ capela missed so many games that harden got used to iso/hero ball/ball hog that by the time everyone came back healthy, that perfect balance was long gone.

The only series harden should have won was 2014 vs portland and 2017 vs San Antonio. Other than that, they lost to the KD Thunder, the warriors, and the lakers. Nobody was expecting him to beat those 3 teams so I think it was a success overall.

Saying the Sixers failed by not giving up Simmons, Maxey, Thybulle, and 1st round picks for Harden is crazy. That’s way too much. I’d rather see how the season comes along and if possible try to pull the trigger on a trade for Bradley Beal. Would be a better fit for Philly.

Houston isn't bad this year. They may actually be better now that they've excised the cancer in the locker room, not talent-wise, but chemistry-wise. 8th seed in an extremely competitive West is a legitimate appraisal but we need to remember that the West is so tight that just a few wins or losses can mean a rise to 4th or being completely out of the top 10. As long as Wall's health holds up, they should be good.

Good video aside from equating the pick swaps to picks, it’s unlikely the nets are worse than the rockets- so those picks would have been higher anyways. Unless I’m misunderstanding?
Even if Harden looks bad for the way he wanted out of Houston, we could say Harden era was the best team in the league after that Warriors dynasty. I don't like how D'antoni coached that team, but the playoffs matchups between the Rockets and the Warriors were better and more competitive than the finals agaisnt the Cavaliers, and maybe Harden wouldn't have won one ring if Houston surpass the Warriors in the playoffs. In the case of Harden, he became one of the best scorers in history of the game as a Rockets, and a definitely superstar that couldnt surpass that Warriors dynasty.

There's a good chance Dipo re-signs with Houston if they make him a featured player and pay him what he was looking for from Indy. Houston is a great city to live in and, thanks to Yao Ming, they have huge attention from China. That makes their stars extremely marketable. Being marketable means money from endorsements. With Harden gone, this will mean a lot of shots up for grabs and Dipo should be able to get the lion's share along with Wood. Although Wall had a reputation as a ball hog, he is still a very good facilitator so everyone on the Rockets should benefit from this trade, and that includes Dipo.
