@ridealot100 i highly recommend you show the world how it's done. if you dont like spencer's vocals then that is your problem. your mind is too narrow to appreciate variety. i suppose if it was up to you every vocalist would have the same voice. you are a perfect example of someone who has too small of a mind to appreciate talent.
Amazing as usual from them Bulbus Periphery peeps. So dig this sound. It's so beautifully heavy...it really takes metal some place further rather then spinning around in place and doing the same old same old. I dig Spencer as well, he's not cookie-cutter cookie-monster... the boy can sing :)
@nickRnun haha well its funny that you mention it because the guitarist of haunted shores, mark holcomb, is filling in for alex dubois...and then there's spencer.....
@ridealot100 I've seen them live as well. Your opinion is still wrong. Though I can agree that Dredg is an amazing band. And "djent" is a sound, though it's considered a genre by many now that it has expanded. It's been around since Meshuggah started it in 1987. It isn't going anywhere.
well "re-did". i mean spencer sings in periphery and this song was written by misha which is the guitarist for periphery. i like that theyre playing it in periphery as it seems it otherwise wont ever get released on an LP.
...Passenger. they re-used the song and put it out as a single back in april. This however IS the Haunted Shores version. You can tell by Sponce's vox and the snare sound haha.
As we grow with rusty nails in the coffin Among potential of diamonds and pearls This sea of blood fills the crevice between Our lifeless body and the whispers for which we reach Behold as the water floods the red Time commands of us to meet again in silence Awakening to a higher light If we sever the distance between one another And cross out the fear we learn All are one and nothing is keeping The love in our souls from bursting infinitely Now what have we become An entity of survival Rotting flesh of the fallen stains our ego Now the moment is at hand to rise above what was once so prevalent Folding time within the mortal boundaries lived upon Moving onward and we will never fade Fall into another dead end will it end the same Lines are drawn for the rest of the story If we sever the distance between one another And cross out the fear we learn All are one and nothing is keeping The love in our souls from bursting infinitely This life is one that we must live The peace once embraced from so long ago sleeps deep within our minds Stay forever or be erased From the harmonic physical state of being Existing in this dimension Lies are covered but only for the moment The blood of the weak will carve the way for the innocent The blood of the weak will carve the way for the innocent
So what exactly is haunted shores? I'm a huge periphery fan and I just heard of "haunted shores" today. Is it like a side project or something? For the most part all I've found is periphery instrumentals.
+Mike Watkins So aside from the penisy comment above: The Haunted Shores is more Marc's riffs, recorded by Misha before Marc was in Periphery. They used to have a handful of vocalists sit in on certain songs. Although I like Spencer, Elliot Coleman(old Tesseract vocalist) is my favorite featured vocalist and I'd recommend anyone to listen to his new band Good Tiger. The songs Periphery and HS have in common were originally HS and were turned into Periphery songs after Marc joined.
the drums seemed really off at one spot, but other then that it sounds fantastic, I dont know why everyone goes on spencer so hard though I think his range is fucking ridiculous, hes underrated imo
well he's Not a hipster ....bare in mind that the " thumbs up " thing is made for fun ..just another way of being funny or nice or having more communication between people.... so he is just stating something ...something nice to say " high five " so actually you need to respect the fact that he has 30 Thumbing him up and 7 on your side.
@kalloused Some stuff isn't all that bad, but I guess Misha neglects the fact that Spencer came out of the dark, when they finally were ready to release the album we heard demos with Chris and they did the Thrash and Burn tour with him. The album came out and it had different vocals(Spencer) voice. I give credit to him for vocals on Frak the Gods and Jetpacks but watching their videos on youtube his vocals really aren't up to par with the album.
@kalloused There obviously are a lot of fans that enjoy the vocals, otherwise the fan base wouldn't continue to grow. Misha chewed you out because you were insulting him, his project, and his friend by saying Spencer's vocals suck. Misha and the rest of the band chose Spencer, Spencer is working hard and doing well, AND people are enjoying it. Yes, you may not. You may know people who don't. To each their own. But keep in mind that you're insulting people with your words.
@kalloused so essiently your claiming that by adding more, they are subtracting...... great logic bud. if your saying it takes away from the complexity by being simple, then your wrong. if you take spencer's vocal melodies and break them down, youd find that hes fucked in the head. this guy builds insanely complex melodies and sings out of the scale, which most would think would sound bad but it works. plus immense range and perfect pitch. hes as good a singer as misha is a composer
@LOKOMETASENJADOTOY Djent is an onomatopoeia! But if you don't like the therm Djent as a genre say New Way of Occidental Progressive Metal, i prefer Djent!
@Gnoxxation my exact words were "appreciate talent" not "appreciate music" learn to read before quoting. i dont recall asking you for your life's story. just because you have a musical background doesnt mean you're right. though some agree with you, there are plenty more who DO NOT. periphery has Spencer because he's good, they're not about to change that because you dont like it. that being said, quit whining like a five year old just because you dont like it.
that riff is beautiful af
noł
...while mark holcombs guitar djently weeps...
2:18 up like an angel, the guy's range in incredible and his tone is class. one of my favorite singers for sure
This is the best Haunted Shores song by far
It’s a crime this isn’t on Apple Music.
I totally agree U_U.. i need it on Spotify also 😢
2:18 , Most epic moment in the singing career of Spencer Sotelo :-) Looking forward to seeing Dream Theater and Periphery in Oslo in 15 days :)
From bursting infinitelyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!

Amazing! Such an emotive song. Love it!
noł amazing
Spencer is the man.
Holy Djent!!!
@muriendounpocomas the entire discography isn't out yet but you can download a couple of tracks off of their soundcloud.
AWESOME song!
@ModernTruth I was like freaking out by seeing the Periphery banner, didn't know they were gonna warm up, haha!
NICE!
Why can’t I find an album version or tabs for this?!
Why do the older Haunted Shores versions seem better produced than the Periphery ones?
no it doesnt what you on about lol
False
awesome.
Don't know why....but the really remember me Periphery
misha moonshar and mark play in peryphery, plus spencer is the vocalist of peryphery
@@chlies15elrey you just fell for a joke made 5 years ago

@george5030 this is the Haunted Shores version. the Periphery version is redone from scratch.
Mint, this is an OUTSTANDING song & performance.
Bravo !!!
sounds very good indeed:)..i thought that vocals would ruin tis song but spencer is hella creative
very good
@nickRnun haha well its funny that you mention it because the guitarist of haunted shores, mark holcomb, is filling in for alex dubois...and then there's spencer.....
i see why theyve traded singers and guitarists back and forth with periphery haha theyre just as fucking awesome

freaks me out even at the beginning woowwwwwww!!!!!
This is just periphery without nolly and Matt XD
And of course people forget Jake. 'sigh'

I love how its like Haunted Shores- Passenger (ft Spenncer sotelo) like featuring spencer? Dude thats like all of periphery lol
LOL! Exactly .
haunted shores is only mark and misha
@JonathanChunPrevenge could have been my head phones? idk sounds little better on my powered speakers now that i give it a second listen
@ridealot100 What do you think about Chris Barretto's new album with Ever Forthright? That guy is in complete control.
As we grow with rusty nails in the coffin
Among potential of diamonds and pearls
This sea of blood fills the crevice between
Our lifeless body and the whispers for which we reach
Behold as the water floods the red
Time commands of us to meet again in silence
Awakening to a higher light
If we sever the distance between one another
And cross out the fear we learn
All are one and nothing is keeping
The love in our souls from bursting infinitely
Now what have we become
An entity of survival
Rotting flesh of the fallen stains our ego
Now the moment is at hand to rise above what was once so prevalent
Folding time within the mortal boundaries lived upon
Moving onward and we will never fade
Fall into another dead end will it end the same
Lines are drawn for the rest of the story
If we sever the distance between one another
And cross out the fear we learn
All are one and nothing is keeping
The love in our souls from bursting infinitely
This life is one that we must live
The peace once embraced from so long ago sleeps deep within our minds
Stay forever or be erased
From the harmonic physical state of being
Existing in this dimension
Lies are covered but only for the moment
The blood of the weak will carve the way for the innocent
The blood of the weak will carve the way for the innocent
i am baffled as to why they didnt include the outro in the new version. so unnecessary but so fucking awesome
How much of any one song is "necessary"? Music is inherently an indulgent endeavour.
So what exactly is haunted shores? I'm a huge periphery fan and I just heard of "haunted shores" today. Is it like a side project or something? For the most part all I've found is periphery instrumentals.

+Sean Hamilton A great example is Scarlet. That was a song Marc wrote for HS but it made it on the Periphery 2 and it's one of the top hits!
elliot is a fucking beast, saw him live and I was like dying
@burtonkid0012 Snare sounds fine dude.
Haha, that outro.
3:34 Periphery just went Protest The Hero on my ass

@SASchertz oh i know he played with them in dallas he was pretty impressive he had a little trouble playing racecar but shit who wouldnt lol

where can i download haunted shores discography??
@dtopeth2 Totally unexpected, I just had to laugh there
High five, if you heard the HS version a year before the Periphery version.
@ridealot100 are you deaf? spencer is possibly one of the hardest working/most talented vocalists out there.
This is haunted shores. Periphery re-did it.
@manugnauinggshtrajk this deff could pass as a periphery song though.
@supraluvers Yes...
where can i download haunted shores cd??
