You can’t just stick 30% to China price. Nio’s are like 50% more in Europe than the China price and that was before the tariff increases.
They had 10 percent tariff already..it increased by 21 percent Making it 31 percent tariff
@@user-wy7oi5pu6x yea but nios weren’t just 10% more expensive in Europe they were around 50% more expensive. If they pass on the new tariffs they will be like 70% more expensive. There are far more costs involved in sales/service/infrastructure in Europe to provide the same service as in China.

I shipped my car from Los Angeles to France and I paid $2800 , I am sure NIO must be shipping their cars for a lot less than what you said .
40 000 + vat = 48 000€ more or less + shopping cost. In France WE can have 4000€ to 13 000€ rebate for a european made car.
So MY between 32000€ to 40000€ in France (also VW, stellantis and Renault have cars in same prices with aftersale services).
L60 50000€, minimum. Onvo is not known but common people. It won t be easy.
Even BYD does has no sales in EU cause it IS way too expensive .

I sorry to say but someone at nio doesn’t understand the culture and politics in the old continent, when you sell a product that is foreign to them, specially when it comes from a startup company and a country they consider inferior, guess who they are going to buy from., Be profitable in china first then go to Asian market then Latin American countries , don’t throw money down the drain in Europe.

I don’t think the average European cares if a car is produced in EU or China, as long as the product is good and with competitive price. There’s huge demand for cheaper cars nowadays since the prices of everything and especially vehicles have skyrocketed these last years. hence why we have so many Chinese cars on our roads even though people like to say that they want to support EU brands etc..
Probably many people would agree that EU brands need more competition. The quality and reliability of Volvo ,Benz, VW, BMW has not really approved during the last years, while the prices are ridiculously high compared to everything else.

Europe and US are shooting themselves in the foot with their high tariffs on Chinese EVs. It may help their domestic EV production in the short run, but they are essentially giving up on the China EV market, which limits them to their domestic market. And they will not be able to keep pace with Chinese EV producers without access to the world's largest EV market, China.
Yes its a short term gain but that's all US/EU can get. There is no competition here, US/EU auto industry can never catch up so why not do a tariff and let the domestic auto industry make money for a couple more years.
