Miguel Cabrera finishes with 3,174 hits, 627 doubles, 511 home runs, 1,881 RBI and 1,551 runs. He's a career .306 hitter with a slugging percentage well over .500. He had 1,498 walks (includes 238 intentional walks) and only 2,105 strikeouts in 10,356 at bats Only nine players had more than Cabrera's four batting titles. Miggy is one of seven players with over 3,000 hits and 500 home runs. From that group, only Hank Aaron, Albert Pujols and Cabrera also recorded over 600 doubles. Cabrera had 12 100-RBI seasons. Only Pujols, A-Rod, Foxx, Gehrig and Ruth had more. Only 14 players hit 30 homers in a season more often than Cabrera did (10) Cabrera won the Triple Crown in 2012, finishing the season with an AL-leading .330 batting average, plus 44 home runs and 139 RBIs which led all of Major League Baseball. He became the first batter to win a Triple Crown since Carl Yastrzemski in 1967. Cabrera became the first non-outfielder to win the Triple Crown since Lou Gehrig in 1934, the first player to win it without a tie in any of the three categories since Frank Robinson in 1966, and the first Latin American player and the first third baseman to win a Triple Crown. Cabrera also had his first career 200-hit season, having hit safely 205 times.
Growing up in Michigan Miggy has been one of the best athletes I’ve been blessed enough to watch. Tigers won’t be the same without him. Thank you Miggy! 🐅
@@someone.621 Do you think a non-athlete could do what he did in his career? Maybe a little out of shape in later years, but I assure you, he was an athlete.
As a Venezuelan, I'm so blessed to have seen Miggy play winter ball in Venezuela and many times over with the Tiger. Thank you for putting our country so high during your time in the big leagues. You'll be missed.
A legend of Latin baseball in the Major Leagues. As a Venezuelan, proud of his career, his example and for placing the name of our country very high. Unforgettable idol of Venezuelan sports forever.
Next Spring time when baseball comes back to Michigan, it will sure feel very different. Just like the year after we left the corner to move locations, Miggy not taking the field will feel like something is missing from Baseball. As a life long Tiger fan who thru all the ups and downs, I thank you Miggy for what you have done for the City and the State. Your Smile, Child like love of the game will be greatly missed. Today watching your last game me like many others asked one more, just one more. I can't help but think of the movie "For the love of the game" You sir for the last 20 years have been for the love of the game giving us fans what felt like Baseball, not for the money, not for the fame, just pure baseball just a kid and his glove and a bat. Enjoy your retirement and I hope your day in Cooperstown and the day your number is retired in Detroit comes sooner then later. Forever indebted - A life long Tigers fan.
You being a giants fan… you have no right speaking on Miguel’s behalf. You took his (in my opinion) greatest ring in his Career and I will never (for as long as I live) forgive the giants for taking it from him. You deserve nothing but disrespect from Detroit. Anyone from Detroit gives you respect is no longer a part of the tigers fan base. You deserve nothing but humiliation from the tigers for the next 20 years. How dare your team defied him in the world. You should have lost for the sake of his career but no apparently being a consistent winning in the 70s-90s wasn’t good enough for your spoiled club. Honestly your club deserves the same curse the lions got with 50 plus years without a playoff win. And if you don’t get it then I will be happy with you all not winning the World Series for the next 50 years.
Miguel Cabrera's amazing career and in the very select club of the Triple Crown, Hall of Fame, unforgettable everything he achieved in the Major Leagues, today has been a great and sad farewell but always has to come the time to do it.
Blessed to have been able to watch his career here in Detroit. A true legend on and off the field. I was lucky to have been there for 3000 and countless other amazing moments. People will tell stories of his greatness for generations.
the reason i fell in love with baseball. i will never forget seeing him smash home runs in the wbc in 2009 when i was a kid, then seeing him get a hit in the 2023 wbc in miami as an adult. a true baseball idol for us 🇻🇪 🔥
Miggy, you are a such a huge legend and icon for your legendary baseball playing career. You have really have inspired a lot of other baseball players to be as well talented as you were. We are so proud on what you have accomplished and achieved in MLB. Especially to the Detroit Tigers! Once a Tiger, ALWAYS a Tiger!!! ROAR!!!!! 🥹🐅🏆✌️👍⚾️
I was thrilled to be at his final game tonight. When he took the field and turned around to see his teammates were still in the dugout he was shocked. They wanted to give him his own moment of glory. When that first batter hit the ball to him the baseball Gods were smiling. Not a dry eye in the house.
I had went to the April 6 game, which was his first home game at Comerica Park and it was absolutely incredible. That stadium was the best I’ve ever seen it.
I always know that Miguel Cabrera helped the Detroit Tigers making it to the World Series in 2012 but I will always love the way he hit for HRs and I wanted to say thank Miggy for carrying us to dominate the Central Division and winning it 4 straight year from 2011-2014. Thank you Cabrera for making us proud and you’ll always make us happy for your legacy as a Hall of Famer in baseball history. #24 Forever!

Thank you for the last 15 years in Detroit Miggy. You made me love baseball as a kid and you're the reason I still love it today. Enjoy retirement #24 you deserve it. Much love - All Real MLB Fans
El más grande para nosotros los venezolanos. Nos dió las mayores alegrías en una etapa muy dura del país. Espero, que su retiro sirva, de manera simbólica, como un despertar de las esperanza por la recuperación de nuestra Patria.
I got to spend my youth watching Miggy in his prime here in the D. Im really gonna miss him. Between him and Pavel Datsyuk I feel blessed to watch some of the greatest to ever do it, in real time. It's easy to watch highlights and realize how great some athletes are, but to watch their games every day they're on TV, you really get to understand greatness.
My dad and i went to about a dozen marlins games in 2003 and i even got to get his autograph at a signing event at a mall with dontrelle willis. Miggy was such an important part of that 03 dream time. He was everyones favorite
The greatest tiger I’ve ever witnessed play. There’s many that are better than him that I never seen play but this is the best one I ever got to see playing and I got to see him play in person twice. Once on my birthday which was opening day on April 7 and then last year on the sixth his last opening day he has 250 at home run on the day before my birthday in 2011 that would’ve been my 18th this man is the greatest. He is the goat in my opinion.
Well so long Miggy. I hope you had a fantastic career. I will keep your shirt. Enjoy your retirement and hope you will be in the Hall Of Fame someday. Go Get em Tigers.

2 foul balls off his knee & foot then hits a bomb off Mo. The fact he took Clemens deep in the WS as a 20 year old. Triple crown winner. He was incredible to watch hit.
