Joe Mauer is the epitome of a class act ball player. No scandals, faithful to the same team his entire career, and a solidly great player consistently. He reminds me of what baseball used to be in it’s glory days.
Cyber Farmer he always put the team first. Even when the attention was on him, he never really bragged or boasted about it. Hope he sticks around so he can get a run Pucketts franchise record of hits.

One of the most beautiful things about baseball being a slow game, is that it allows for moments of ceremony without it seeming to be interrupting with the flow of things. It is a game where the crowd and the players are allowed to interact in a genuine relationship, and give each other gifts of appreciation and farewells. Baseball is a beautiful game.

Man time flies I remember when my Joe Mauer and Wright were the young guys in the 2000s and now they retiring and Adam Jones held it down for Baltimore probably the best since Cal Ripken did and I damn sure going to miss Adrian Beltre was one of my favorite Dodgers when he was there back in the day and one of my favorite players ever since he came to the league I hope he plays one more years he can get 500 home runs he's already a lot for the hall in my opinion and and congratulations to Victor Martinez was a great catcher during his Indian and tiger days

Sad to see Adam Jones leave the O's. In my mind hes the face of their franchise. I was lucky to see him play this season for the first time.

No Chase Utley?? One of the hardest working players in all of baseball. Had a great run with Philly - and their fans were classy enough to give him a nice ovation at his last game there earlier this year. Then another ovation for his time with the Dodgers - a game I was lucky enough to attend.

Man I'm a braves fan and I teared up. David is a stud, and I always enjoyed watching him play. Great competitor, and great guy.
Also Reyes has been declining for years but when he came up he was one of the most exciting players in baseball, good to see him get a nice ovation.

Hunter Pence was our emotional leader in the dugout and locker room, injuries aside he was definitely a big part of my SF Giants winning 3 out of the last 7 World Series trophies....
Although I have been a die hard Yankees fan my entire 23 years of life, I have always loved David Wright. These pass 5, 6, and 7 years have been extremely hard as I watch all of my childhood heroes and favorite athletes continue to retire and move on to the next chapters of their lives.

I grew up watching these guys (I'm a teenager now). Even though I wasn't really a big fan of most of them, it's sad and nostalgic to see them go.

As a long islander, I grew up a mets fan watching David Wright play. It kinda felt like he was gonna be there forever. Seeing an icon like him say goodbye really got me a bit teary eyed. I'm gonna miss you captain!
Coming from a twins fan, Maurer retiring is the best thing that’s happened to the twins in about 5 years all he does is take out money and hit double plays, he hasn’t been shit since he moved from catcher to 1st base

I enjoyed seeing these guys playing their best and being the long time faces of their franchises, just by looking back at all the success at postseason appearances, championship wins and special moments that Wright, Beltre, Victor Martinez, Wainwright, Pence, Mauer, Reyes and Jones brought shows that not everything in the Baseball world stays the same for long. But I do wish them all the best in their lifestyles outside of the game
I was at Wright’s last game and i swear i cried more at Citi Field that night more than i’d ever cried before. And i’m a 15 year old kid.
i love how all the nationals fans were so sad about harper leaving, but when he came back with the phillies, they all booed him
