  • I am doing a full engine rebuild as the main end bearings were a bit noisy. So the crank has to come out and be reconditioned.

    Just pulled the crank on my very tired KR1. These vids have been a gold mine for info, thankyou for taking the time to film and edit them.

    Haha @17.10 "I don't like working with me tools everywhere" as we're looking at the bench in the background LOL. Great video series mate. I'm binge watching.

    JIS screwdrivers are a good buy mate. They're a better fit than Phillips. Saying that,your "shock tactic "seems to work!if you get any that are real buggers,friction drops,or screw grab does the trick.ive sold a few spares to shep denne dahhn under,good guy!

    Yip that's exactly what set mine apart... In fact bits of those parts blew a hole in the gear box casing like a grenade...
    Fantastic video series mate and very well done to your videographer 👍👍👍
    I had a blue, black and silver model KR1s and ended up with a KR1SP after the gearbox detonated on the Auckland motorway.
    Still the best bike I have ever had 30 years on. Awesome, keep up the great work.

    Hi, great to watch! Would you be interested in doing a build for me? I have a KR1 bottom end and some TZR barrels all ready to fit.

    did you use a puller to remove the flywheel?

    • @jaysshed4857
      @jaysshed4857  4 роки тому

      Yes, I have several pullers I have made over the years. They make the job very easy and you don’t damage anything. It screws into the centre of the flywheel and then you preload the centre bolt and give it a little tap and it pops off..

      @@jaysshed4857 I bought one to remove the fly wheel off mine 20 years ago! The stator failed and i rewound it. Haven't used it since and would be happy to give it to you.
