Very interesting. Definitely gonna try mugwort. I was telling myself "go figure what mugwort is, might be hard to find, here". I googled it and it's called artemisia in Italian. Name comes from greek and it's a plant dedicated to the goddes Artemis. I'm imagining it also in metheglins, maybe a symbolic metheglin in which each element has a symbolic reason to be included. Since Artemis is connected to aspects of life, like any ancient god, it's all about symbology. Artemis is the goddes of all the following: moon, women initiations, forest, archery, hunting, wild animals, modesty and verginity. That's a big spread.
I was really excited when I saw it! I was low on bottles capable of handling sparkling mead and I wanted to do Thor's mead without buying a ton of bottles or a full force-carb kegging system. If it works out well, I definitely plan on continuing to use it.
Thanks for a very cool video. Can't wait for the tasting video. Apparently hops came to power because guitar herbs became a monopoly and brewers had to pay a tax for the mix of brewing herbs, while hops were kinda a weed.
Interesting! I wonder if this hadn't happened if there would've been a rise in varietals of herbs like mugwort like there are for hops. It's an interesting thought experiment. A "What If", if you will 😂
1st. Like your video. Interested to see how the mini keg works. To be real, I'd be uneasy about the eyeballing of the priming honey, but I trust you know what you're doin.
Oh no, you should absolutely not trust that I know what I'm doing 😂 In this case, though it should be relatively safe. It's just enough to reactivate the yeast. For the keg, I had to measure, but everything else should be absolutely golden. Though, there's also always the chance that the yeast has thrown in the towel and won't carbonate this.
Is it one of the 5L ones like this? I thought about getting the force carb setup, but I thought I'd leave this at its most basic for now. I can always add on later.
Yes, If memory is correct I put a disclaimer in here (maybe in part 1) about it. In the doses listed here, it should NOT be a problem, but it's good to keep in mind.
I know of a house near my old high school that sells fresh honey, I'm more than willing to grab you a couple jars so you can get some real honey in there
Usually a couple of weeks, but I'll let it go a little longer just in case. In THEORY the size difference won't matter assuming the relative amount of yeast in suspension by volume is equal. I'll wait a bit before opening any of these to ensure that if there IS going to be carbonation, that it happens.

Never seen one of those mini kegs where I live! This is REALLY interesting! Thank you for sharing!
Honestly I saw it on the website and knew it was perfect for this project.
nice mini keg demo!

I have a little mini keg with co2 cartridges that i carb cider with works well. Sounds like this is gonna be a good one.

No it’s a different one I got online it has a pour tap it’s pretty cool. It runs through the cartridges pretty fast though.
I feel like there may be a story time for the swing/sling bottles haha
Surprisingly, none from me, just through the grapevine.
@@MethodtotheMeadness that's good because I can't imagine that being a good situation.
caution: mugwort is used primarily for menstrual pain. High doses may cause abortion.

How long do they need to sit to carbonate? And do the different size containers change the time?
