Glad to see you revisit session mead. As always appreciate and understand as much as we can. Then brew what you like and enjoy it with family and friends.
Superstition has an amazing prickly pear session mead called Dune Bloom. It’s like $20 for 4 cans but extremely worth it. It’s my favorite carbonated mead I’ve ever had.
Got a session mead that I’m racking today. Used 1lb less honey than my normal 1 imp gallon recipe. Hopefully it’ll turn out alright and as dry as I wanted with the ale yeast I pitched.
I love superstition. I’ve had a few of there bottlings and they have been very good. Currently I’m fermenting a mango capsicumael with home grown jalapeño. Which when I tried we’re pretty warm. I used Florida sweet squeeze orange blossom honey. I’m hoping for a good product.
I just got the Elder Scrolls cookbook as a gift and noticed there are mead recipes in it. Do you have any experience with these recipes? If so, anything you'd change about them? As always, great videos!
I would suspect that the salt is added to this much in the same way that salt is added to a chocolate chip cookie or anything of that sort. The usual comment is that the little bit of salt (but not a drastic amount) enhances the sweetness of whatever it is coupled with. I’m guessing that’s their thinking behind it, but I’d love to see what they would say about it
That's my guess as well. I will say that a little bit of noticeable salinity would've been welcome in the balance of this mead. Similar to if you've ever salted watermelon (but not that drastic of a salt flavor).
@@MethodtotheMeadness my sister just told me that she had the salted watermelon for the first time and she was shocked by how good it was. I’m very interested to try it myself now
I have a cyser that’s 2 months and a simple mead that’s 2 months. When do you recommend drinking. Cyser is 17 percent abv and the simple mead is 14 percent abv.
Did you taste them as they went in? That may be the most valuable piece of information on how much time each needs in the bottle to mellow out and come into their own.
Yeah I have tasted them in small sips along the way. My family is anxious to try it. I just sampled one bottle and it was good. I think I’m going to take 2/3 bottles out of town with us on vacation and let the other sit for 4 more months.

That was the most amazing opening of a can I've ever heard in my life lol
"I hope that was good." LOL
Bloopers! For real though, looks like a good mead.
Yo wtf, 2.6k subs, gonna be at 100mil soon. Mead is by far the most interesting drink.
"bottom mead" with the design of Spongebob Squarepants... I definitly have to try it ! 😆
They knew EXACTLY what they were doing when they named it "Bottom Time" 😂

Oooo, if I see it in my neck of the woods, I'll have to try it out. The commercial selection by me is a bit thin.

....60ish days before I'm state side and can do a dive into the world of mead.

Should be a lovely combination!

Elder scrolls cook book?! I have to find it!
What are the recipes?
I've not actually tried them, but I can take a look and tell you what I think of them.

@@directx3497 Let me know how they go!
Bit slow, this video. Might wanna take another editing pass?
Just put it on 1.25x or 1.5x speed and stfu
@@mr_wright_official_ I'm his friend giving feedback lol. We've known each other for over 13 years
@@Supuhstar It's good feedback. Next time I do a mead review, I'll tighten the timings a bit.
