Great content as usual. Especially every time you stop to give insight and motivate your choices. Personally this deck is not in my play style, but that’s subjective and apart from this I think it’s a great decklist that I’m sure many people are gonna like and try. The main reason why I follow you and watch every video you make is all the insight and pieces of advice that you give during the game. Much much appreciated. Truly. Thank you.
In the last game wouldnt it have been better to hit the mistmoors with the drain and then torch it? You'd have gained life, be able to tutor a day of judgement for when hauntwoods came off impend, and avoided 6 damage. That's like a 10 point life swing from where you were.
came here to say this, glad I checked comments first. Could've only taken 2 and searched for something to end the game a bit sooner(and shuffle away all those lands), but tbh he's a creator. Shit, it was a bad play but here we are in the comments section. 👀
With the combination of 2 Leyline of Resonance + Might of the meek they tried something like Ancestral Recall and it turned out to be broken in Bo1. I don't think we will see the full Boon Cycle again in Standard.
@@bubba200874426 Giant Growth was reprinted in Foundations but it was already legal because of the reprint in Bloomburrow. Before Bloomburrow it was legal because of The Brother's War.

It’s just the blatant game rigging that is limited to unranked where you can enter what I refer to as auto-loss mode which gives you predictable loss streaks following win streaks that defy probability. Ranked only has certain elements rigged like your opponent selection.
Hand smoothing is one of the [many] reasons why those god damn monored decks always have curve, it counts lands but doesn't take colors into consideration
If you get hand smoothes to land drought or flood. Play unranked your next game. Your next game is often the opposite to keep your land average where it should be. And always remember, the shuffler "has been fully tested and is working as intended"
At 48:13 they could demo field both of your red sources, and because you have no mountains in your deck you are actually just dead to pact (unless you draw out of it, which requires you to accept then fail to find in order to shuffle the library).
Eh, they could if they knew his deck. But since they have no way of knowing he has no Mountains, from their perspective that's a pointless waste of mana.
I’ve been playing a very simple hare apparent deck with some target removal and banner of kinship. It’s surprisingly successful in Bo1 ranked. Would love to see you come up with a fun build around it
Legit a really fun deck. Not sure I want to play it myself. I think it'd be too many wildcards for something I'd only find mildly fun. But still. Really cool.
Yeah it's in the starter collection, along with both of the cat pact cards, meaning that all of them are only available for wildcards on MTGA. Thanks Wizards! 😑
You wanted me to tell, so here my story of the yesterda: I'm playing Dimir Control and keep a two-land-hand with lots of removal. Turn 13 I die to some dumb green creatures, because I didn't draw a single nonland card that game 😂
@ Watching videos and hearing my buddy talk about it. I’m not saying I would know it’s old school magic, I’m saying when I hear people talk about old school magic, this is what I picture
Magic the Gathering Arena sometimes feels like you are against a deceiver who shuffled your cards and his. Everytime that you play a deck with a combo piece, it's a general rule that it is getting durressed by the opponent. I have been playing the Grixis Version of this deck, and my God, every opponent has instant enchantment removal. In 2 of my games, I was just about to gift my last tick of Pact to the opponent and they drew get lost from the top. But man the most frustrating thing is playing BO3, winning first match sweating your ass of, having a long game 2, just to get into game 3 after 20 min for you to get mana screwed after 3 mulligans. It's too fun wasting 20 minutes just to get f... in your ass by the shuffler. And it's not like these are the occasional games, no you get regularly mana screwed with 26 lands or flooded the game after. There isn't just a single game, where you get a normal ratio between both things. I think that should be enough Arena venting for today.
Either the game is not random or paper is not random what I've been playing this game since it came out and I've never in my life been screwed the way you get in arena. I simply don't understand what the issue is it doesn't matter what I do a sideboard in removal I don't draw removal a sideboarding creatures that don't draw the creatures I get four of the same card all land no land and yet it never happens in paper I mean never happens in paper I'm no math guy but I can tell it's obviously different
That guy really take nowhere to run with the sheltered by ghosts? That’s about the dumbest thing he could’ve done. commented soon as I saw, free win that game, don’t even need to watch to see.
CGB sounds like drunk me, why mulligan? who cares just play the game and blame wizzers for the game experience. He also gave complete permission to call him a poopy head stink brain nonsense factory. He won't read this anyway, 7 years of comments means ignore everyone and be smug.
bro found a way to make MTGA's predatory marketing (once you've played a deck a while, the shuffler starts ruining matches until you buy more packs) not apply to him
the cut of "nothing bad can happen to our mana" into the video starting and immediately having no red in the first starting hand?? incredible lol
As soon as he said it, I was like "......".
“It’s actually impossible” 😅
I mean, Fountainport in a three colour deck with a lot of double pips was a pretty good hint
He topped a red, still perfect😂
And the fact that it only gets worse the further you get into the video...

Hand smoothing algorithm < Oponent needs to win algorithm < You need to lose algorithm
Between shuffler and opponent going first in 90% of my matches, it was wild I won even half the matches I did today.
Heres my tome, my tome is amazing
Give it a lick. It tastes just like raisins.
🤔
Seeing Maze mind in standard it wild. Only ever seen it in brawl. Nice to see the older staples getting love again
"But it has tome!" love it

It wouldn't matter anyway because Arena wanted them to draw the last 7+ lands before actually playing the game again.
51:36 4 damage from pact + torch and byebye overlord...

NOOOOO CGB
Awesome deck. Always go to you for the more interesting decks
38:21 nice Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory reference 👌🏼
loved this :D W explanation of the love for the game!
Love this deck. Thanks for sharing it!
Wow that last game was wild! You saw at least 6 lands and bottomed most of them and STILL drew land. Arena is so brutal sometimes

Man this deck looks so fun to play.
HELL YEA
God, I love decks like these. Be sure I'm gonna be terrorizing standard with this bad boy
48:30 Opponent’s best out would have actually been to Demo Field your 2 red sources and hope you whiff on drawing a Beseech.

You can cast Torch with bargain targeting the Skelly token and sac'ing the token to bargain to get the scry.
i like this version better than the other one, but i put a few gambits because i dont have all the pacts yet
Wonder what a jund variant of this would look like? I'm gonna brew and see
"Will never be screwed by lands" gets screwed by lands 3 times in the video.
Fun magic doesn’t exist I’m starting to realize that. It’s time I went on my evil arc
i loooove these types of decks
using Beseech the Mirror for Day of Judgment is a nice idea,
also, the guy in the art for No where to run looks like cgb.
Also, domain/bean’s decks have unlimited answers. Instant speed one mana target anything removal with card advantage? No problem.
Imma be honest. I love those hardcovers too buddy :)
My luck is not usually land. It's not drawing one garsh darn removal spell when I have like 8 :D
The game is rigged. It's really that simple. When it's your time to lose, there was nothing you could have done to stop it.
Awesome! Very creative brew.
It's not a brew. He's just copying the other UA-camrs
First videos I watched you play you always has mazemind tome… cool flashback
Keep it coming CGB
is this really standard or historic?
Always kill the Bloodletter. You would have won that 1 land match.
Mazemind tome reprinted is giving me bankbuster vibes
I been playing Sheoldred, Razorkin, and crawler since Foundations dropped and my GTD deck is 12-2....
Tome to 4 seems not that good. Maybe 2 or 3?
Return of mazemind tome? Glory days of control
