  • On this installment of "Ken Dixon's Deja View" MICK FLEETWOOD is interviewed on LATER WITH BOB COSTAS which aired November 19th, 1990. Promoting his book FLEETWOOD, the founding member talks at length about the 1975/76 era the fueled RUMOURS, being brother-in-law to both GEORGE HARRISON and ERIC CLAPTON, and announcing that the upcoming tour would be "Christine and Stevie's" last in the band!
Bob Costas as usual is great. When Fleetwood is struggling to pull the title of the song The Beatles based upon ALBATROSS, Costas quickly suggests SUN KING to Mick's delight. #fleetwoodmac #bobcostas #mickfleetwood #interview #georgeharrison #ericclapton

Bob Costas likes the sound of his own voice, which is not a good trait for an interviewer.

This dude couldn't write a hit song to save his fucking life. The only reason why anyone who clicked on the thumbnail knows who he is is because of Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie nicks. THEY WROTE THE FUCKING SONGS!

Wow! He was the dummer and provided a solid beat. Who cares if he didn’t write the songs. He was still important to the band as well as the founder.

Creative musicians can be notoriously unstable and volatile...he kept them together and on track and provided a stabilizing influence. Plus kept the beat.

The band existed before those 3 joined. Ever heard of Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, and Danny Kirwan?

Say what you want but his drum grooves were well thought out, executed to caveman perfection and helped to give the band a unique sound and feel. Their sound wouldn't have been the same with any other player but Mick.

@@southsider3542 Sure but they didn't know how to write a good tune. They didn't become massive stars until the other three.
