Glenn was a musical genius, and put together an amazing band, that produced many great hits. He could do it all, compose, play multiple instruments, and had great vocals. Gone from life way too early -- RIP Glenn -- we miss your talent.
I had a business that Glenn would come to when visiting his mother who lived in Florida. He was a first class gentleman. Very kind loving man and especially good to his mother.
Former cocaine addicts seem to really be super intelligent people. It didnt work for me lol, but he is incredibly on top of a lot of very important details about his musical life. He is very complimentary to so many people. His brain remained intact. That is as impressive as heck.
@ lo maravilloso que sería tenerlo todavía verdad? Yo aún no nacía y él ya estaba haciendo su magnífica carrera en solitario y luego con la vuelta de Eagles, uf! Nos regaló grandes canciones de principio a fin.
I got to meet Glenn when he was in Longbranch Penny whistle in LA. He was a superb selling machine, and I'm not surprised he went on to much, much greater success.
Great interview, very informative and pleasantly done. I miss Glenn Frey, sad that he passed so suddenly. Like the rest of the members of the Eagles band he was an excellent musician. Love the Eagles.❤
he , joe walsh were the eagles for me .they both had good solo music and " acting " careers .joe walsh was hysterical on drew carey show. heartache tonight , true love , one who loves you.
This must of been just before the group got together again ...1994? Just finished watching The History of he Eagles. Really good documentary by the way.
Well, if he gave Felder credit for being an integral part of the band, how did he forget that he was. Ya know, Felder himself has said that he had become an irritant within the band so perhaps you need to accept that and give Glenn Frey the credit he deserves. Perhaps it's you who can't see clearly.
@@stevebiloschaetzke779, videos of their early day....he was a complete, self absorbed JERK. NOTHING likeable about him. Although he mellowed with age.
Glenn says the whole LP of Hotel California took 6 or 7 months. Today, in the music industry the bands are lucky if they get 6 or 7 DAYS of studio time. Oh how the business has changed.
Failed to mention Jackson Browne was coauthor of “Take it Easy”. God Bless and thanks for the terrific music but that made the interview less interesting to me.
Glenn speaks about the name "Eagles" as if he had something to do with it; the truth is that when the group started, Frey didn't care - but Bernie Leadon did, and he was into all the Southwest culture and imagery. I think that the group leaders, Frey and Henley, went with Eagles because it was similar to the Beatles and Buddy Holly's group, the Crickets, and yet Eagles was a bit classier, and it IS the National symbol. It's a good name; and it doesn't matter if anyone else believes Frey. When he did this interview, he knew that Irv Azoff was talking with some younger Country stars about making an album of Eagles covers. It was made, and the group got together for a video for a song off the album(called "Common Thread.") It was the start of the group's return to work, if not form.
As Don Henley said in an interview Glenn Frey saw a hawk and thought it was an eagle and that's how they came up with the name. Listen to Don Henley's interview on utube after Glenn died.
"As if he had something to do with it"? I don't much care for Glenn since the documentary and we find out how much he caused 3 people to leave the band but no matter how comparatively involved he was to that of the others, he was a singer and guitarist in the band, am I correct? Your comment couldn't be more ridiculous

@@LedZep1574 I think Steely Dan is better, classier and more varied. The Eagles sound very samey if you hear them singing one song after another; same music and voice tones.

He was such a handsome man and so talented. What a sad thing he left us too early.
Estuvo bendecido como hombre, músico, legendario , waooo cuántos logros
Bob Costas is a great interviewer. Rip Glenn, you are sorely missed.
Glenn transmitia madurez musical, conocedor de las grandes produccione y aun asi mantener la amabilidad con sus seguidores
Great interview! Love Glenn Frey and sad that he left us so early....
The guy was an absolute stud.
Beautiful interview, Glenn is one of those few people who transmits peace to you, he’s so genuine.
En el mundo del rockanroll transmitía experiencia musical sin esa rebeldía loca, todo lo contrario con madurez del mundo artístico musical

These Costas interviews are great - so glad we have access to them.

About 10 years ago my g/f was trying to find us Eagles tickets and she said they sure play in Philadelphia a lot
i miss his thoughtfulness and kindness
Loved Glenn Frey ❤

*must have
1992. At this time, they still did not foresee any future of the group reuniting
Best Glen Frey song from a lyrically-prolific and brilliant perspective (with no fluff in between cerebral observations): Smuggler's Blues. Bar none.
Nice to see him give Felder the credit he deserves. Too bad Frey forgot that Felder was an integral part of the band.

I'll have to have another listen to steely dan.
Last Resort, just amazing. If you haven’t heard it, please check it out 👍

He did not write Take It to the Limit. Good grief.
This should be labelled Part 1 of 2, not 1!
Failed to mention Jackson Browne was coauthor of “Take it Easy”. God Bless and thanks for the terrific music but that made the interview less interesting to me.
Hotel California should of been called Hotel California/The Last Resort.
And New Kid in Town?
He doesn't look like the same person! He cut his hair and shaved. And he wears a tie too! I guess he reinvented himself.

Glenn Frey looked amazing with any styled hair.
No, he just got old. Remember the orgies with naked women, the drugs and constant use of the F word.

Due to Hotel California among songs, Eagles should disband in addition forever Randy and Felder left two members never ever reunion since they left.
This does not make sense.
Not true, he had nothing to do with the lyrics.
Glenn “Fray”? Your computer narrator needs some work.

well let's not get carried away here ... musically not in the same league at all -- lots of 3 chord songs out there but nobody close to donald

Hotel was written entirely by Felder
Let's check the lifted lyrics from the Rock Hall guy
He did the guitar part, Glenn and Don Henley did the lyrics

It was a shame his partner Henley was so nasty.
