In simple words.. Chu Wanning is too much of a tsundere. He gets flustered way too easily and always calls Tianwen to beat people so that he could either punish them harsly or just simply because he is embarrased.

Ohhh gods a Hua Cheng/Mo Ran no-powers showdown would devolve into biting in like 0,5 seconds. Hua Cheng also grew up on the streets and even if he doesn't have Mo Ran's strain of rabies I can't see him admitting defeat. Mo Ran would still win though: he's much bigger and beefier.

Every character goes through a lot in the novel. For exemple, Ye Wangxi, a character who left a deep impression in me and a lot of admiration. His personality is similar to the one that the Rain Master Yushi Huang has, in Heaven official's blessing. His clothing style is similar to Ming Yi if I remember correctly (I know he was described as a man who wears black sometimes in the novel) He is very composed, calm and rarely gets angry. I admire Ye Wangxi for everything he has done for Mo Ran and Chu Wanning and for everything he went through and he kept a strong attitude despite all of this. Ye Wangxi is my favorite character. (I know Ye Wangxi's backstory to the fullest 🤫🤭)

NOVEL SPOILERS Naw because the only time I cried in the novel was at the end when she ran into kids and gave them the only memory she had of her lover, saying that she didn't need it because he would always be in her heart. I cried so fucking hard
If we were to compare the characters to tgcf, Mo Ran would be close to Pei Ming and Chu Wanning would be a bit like Feng Xin in his violent tendencies when he's flustered.
this is a really good comparison!! When Mo Ran begins to soften up at around chapters 60+ i saw a lot of wei wuxian's personality...albeit extremely feral and even more unhinged
The best way I can explain Chu Wanning is a mix of Lan Qiren (for being a respected senior with heavy responsibilities and caring the youth in the clan and the whole world) + Wen Ning (in his softness and embarrassment) + Feng Xin / Mu Qing (in his cursing way of behavior) + Lan Wangji (for his secret longing).
Watching Kictor here is just an absolute fun. Youre actually so spot-on with some of the answers. Great chemistry on-screen as well with rey and chelsea.

The story is very compelling and interesting and complex, however, there are MANY dark and uncomfortable things that happen within. The whole book is basically a Dead Dove: Do Not Eat type thing because there are so many things that are wild.

Chu Wanning is kind of like Lan Wangji cuz he’s quiet, doesn’t know how to speak his feelings, play the guqin and will do anything for his crush.
