Clint is honestly one of the most underrated country musicians of all time in my opinion. Such a wonderful voice, with so many greatly written songs that tell great stories
Something about him always reminded me of George Strait. They don’t sound a like, but there is just something intangible about both of them.

It is, her name is Lisa Hartman Black. She is an actress/singer. They have some more recent duets too. I love this song! Fun fact about this. When Clint was writing it, Lisa would move around the house humming it. He then invited her to sing it with him. At first she was not confident in her singing skills, but he worked with her and they recorded it together for his D'electrified album.

I remember watching Lisa Hartman on the tv show Knots Landing. I also use to see her on the tv show Solid Gold singing. She put out a remake of Journey song " Separate Ways" . All this was back in the late 1980s I think.

An extremely gifted songwriter, guitarist, harmonicist and singer who stayed true to his music and became a Country Music Legend in the 1990s. My favorite songs by Clint Black (from oldest to newest) are A Better Man; Put Yourself in My Shoes; Where Are You Now; Loving Blind; No Time to Kill; A Good Run of Bad Luck; State of Mind; A Bad Goodbye (duet with Wynonna Judd); Half the Man; Happiness Alone; One Emotion; Summer's Comin'; Desperado (cover of a classic by The Eagles); The Shoes You're Wearing; Nothin' But the Taillights; That Something in My Life; Loosen Up My Strings; Still Holding On (duet with Martina McBride); Something That We Do; You Don't Need Me Now; You Know It All; Love She Can't Live Without; and When I Said I Do (duet with his wife, Lisa Hartman Black). BTW, he wrote or co-wrote every one of these songs except for Desperado.
I LOVE this song! It's so special that he's singing it with his wife. Lisa Heartman Black. She was an actress back in the 80's, but she's not a singer.

This is one of my favorite songs ever. It brings tears every time. My sweet husband and I found this kind of love. I lost him quite unexpectedly in 2015. I so miss that feeling of a true love and holding his hand through the trials of life. 💔

Good for Clint for refusing to sing this very personal love song with anyone other than his wife. Those of you who are old enough might remember Pat Boone when he was extremely popular both for the movies he made and for his songs. "Love Letters in the Sand" was Pat's biggest hit. He was married to Shirley Foley, the daughter of Red Foley, a country/gospel singer that only those of you who are a bit long in the tooth will remember. Foley was best known for the gospel song, "Peace in the Valley". Pat was devoted to Shirley and to their four daughters. One of his daughters was Debby Boone who had a mega hit when she sang, "You Light Up My life". Out of respect for his wife, Pat would not kiss any of his leading ladies in any of the movies he was in. Because of this he received a lot of flak from directors and producers in the movie industry but also because of this, and contrary to the short-lived USUAL Hollywood marriage, he was married to only one woman and their marriage lasted from 1953 to 2019 when Shirley died at the age of 84.
Fun Fact: In his heyday, Pat was asked to endorse some brand of cigarette, but he didn't want to do it because he was against smoking. They kept hounding him and telling him he MUST endorse that brand of cigarette and he finally said, "Okay. I'll say, 'I don't smoke, and I don't think you should either. But if you DO smoke, try ... (whatever the brand was).' " They immediately dropped the whole idea of having Pat Boone endorse cigarettes.
Clint and Lisa also have one daughter, Lily Pearl Black, who must be about in her late teens or early twenties, and she as a song about her that Clint wrote, that is another beautiful and very personal song about his family.
Youve been on a roll here lately. Good song. For my taste, I still think A Bad Goodbye w/ Wynonna Judd is an even better song. All time classic.

He is such a talented songwriter and singer. "When My Ship Comes In" is a good one. "Like The Rain" "A Better Man" "Something That We Do" "A Good Run of Bad Luck" He has so many to choose from!
80s-90s country hands down is the best decades for country. Don’t get me wrong, country music from the 50s-early 2000s is great, but the 80s-90s is the best. SiriusXM has a channel dedicated to 80s-90s country. It’s call Prime Country, channel 56.
Oh I hoped you'd react to this one. I love this song, he did with his wife, it's beautiful. Clint married Lisa Hartman in 1991, they've been married for 31 years and have 1 daughter who is 21. Lisa Hartman Black is not a singer, although she has a gorgeous voice, she is an Actress. It took some persuasion for her to do this song with him, but it is absolutely gorgeous and the video was perfect. Clint's voice with that Texas twang and his perfect vibrato, its just the perfect country voice, I could listen to him all day. I love on some songs when he throws in that grit, he's versatile enough that you never get bored. They both semi-retired from their careers when their daughter was born to just be a family, stay home on their Texas Ranch and raise their child. Its probably why he's not more higher up in the ranks, but family was more important than the fame. He's right up there with George Straight in my book! They are more back to their careers now that their daughter is grown and doing her own thing, its nice to hear him out again.

Clint and Lisa were married in 1991 and they recorded When I Said I Do in 1999. You should check out "A Change in the Air" which is a song by Clint and Lisa AND their daughter Lily Pearl Black. That has some beautiful harmony in it.

Yes to listening to Clint sing with Wynonna Judd on A Bad Goodbye. Saw him in concert in the 90's. The closest we ever got to any singer. We were on the 3rd row and boy was he gorgeous. Loved when he started to sing with his wife. They still do duets but I think it's more gospel music now. 🎶 I'm with you the 90s produced some of the most memorable songs and singers. I don't think their was one that I didn't like. 🦋🎶💞🦋

You would be hard pressed to hear a bad song from Clint Black. He has always been one of my favorites. Another one I'd like to request is Chris Leduex he was a real bareback rider in the rodeo and an awesome singer. I think you would like his song "tougher than the rest." But he has so many other good ones also. Love your reactions to the country music I grew up on please keep it up

He sings A Good Run of Bad Luck. It was in a Western movie Maverick. The movie starred James Garner, Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster. There is a big poker tournament at the end of the movie and Clint Black had a cameo as one of the poker players. I believe this is the song they played as they tossed the players overboard. Hilarious.
I loved Clint Black's voice long before this song, but this one is just flat-out special. The fact that he married an older woman was "much muttered about" - but despite the mutterings, she had a baby with him, which I know from experience (among my family and friends), was a special gift for them both! And obviously from being happily married all these years - the gossips were wrong - she didn't marry him for the money or fame!! Good on Lisa and good on them both for keeping the marriage together! Craig, you are correct about the woman being his wife. Her name is Lisa Hartman *Black - she took/added Clint’s name after get married.
Lisa has one of the best singing voices ever. However she is an actress also. She did more acting than singing. She appeared in the show “Knots Landing”. The first memory of seeing her was in a TV Show called “Tabitha”, where she played the lead role.
If I’m remembering correctly, Lisa slowed down and possibly retired. But I’m not positive about that.
📍USELESS INFO - The show was a “spin off” of a character on the TV show called “Bewitched”. The spin off came on 5 years after Bewitched came off the air. Tabitha was the daughter. When it went off the air, in 1972, Tabitha was around 6 years old. The new Tabitha, she was now grown up.

She was also on Knots Landing. Her character was killed off but she was so popular she was brought back as a different character.

I totally forgot about this song. I saw Clint in concert at the Houston RODEO many years ago. Clint is such a talent. Sad for us that he stepped away. I assume he is still married to Lisa Hartman, who is the other singer here. I remember her from playing Tabitha and that other show. What was the name of that show? i can’t remember.
