- Mark Vines, ranked at #1 Men's 60 singles in the United States, plays in the finals of the Super Senior Grand Prix event in January of 2020 in Naples, Florida. In this match, which started earlier than schedules, I just caught the 2nd set....pretty classic Vines tennis. First set was 6-4 Vines.Unrelenting, not real fancy (although he makes it look so easy!). Filmed with a Muvi KX-1 and the always present QM-1 Camera mount from www.Mytennistools.com

I watched Vines play semi and finals of usta 65+ at Barnes center in San Diego a few weeks ago. Solid player. Methodical game. Every shot had a purpose. Really a pleasure to watch him live.
Thanks, I like "every shot had a purpose". Totally agree
Vines can win another world title for over 65! He looks like Rod Laver out there! Can you post Stuart Saiki playing tennis? He beat Mark a few times, which is remarkable. Both guys moved great on the court, proving tennis can keep you fit and young. Your videos make it look like Naples is the place to be for us senior guys.
Ok, I want to quit after seeing how good these two guys are. Wow, they are unbelievable. Thanks for sharing.
They are! A lot of people don't realize just how good they are because they make it look easier that it is.
unreal how he controls that Big Bubba and actually his backhand is his best shot from what I can see. I could not control that racket off backhand
This videos are great. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Excellent players
Great stuff. Inspiring for sure.
Yes, I'm always inspired to get in better shape and work on my game after being down here filming some of the best players in the world. They make it look so simple!
Amazing play, very inspiring to see I can still play at that age
You can do it!
Hi Mike, I only saw the Stuart Saiki video from last year. Did you upload one recently! Thanks Bob
Not yet, but I do have one. Soon!
Great video! Love the slow motion! Two amazing players.
Glad you enjoyed!
very nice
Thanks
Mark made it to the 3rd round US Open! No wonder he's crushing it.

Great players.
I agree, it's fun to watch them and see how they aren't necessarily real flashy, but they move so well around the court.
inspiring that 60 year olds can move like this. sweet.
Yes, they are great movers.
These gentlemen have pretty good placement for their age.
Is Vines playing with a Gamma Big Bubba tennis racquet? It appears so.
I am interested in what both players are using.
How do you qualify for these tournaments?
You don't really, just sign up and pay the tournament fee. If nothing else, it's a great learning experience to play guys your own age and see what they do.
@@10smike I live in Orlando, and I'd like to have information about "tennis life" and tournaments in Naples area. Do you know where can I find the information? Out of curiosity, how much is the fee for that tournament? How often are similar tournaments in the area? Sorry, I don't want to push or bother you, but you seem to know your stuff...😀
What level are these guys? 4.0? 4.5?
I would think 5.0.
4.75!
Walkman is likely 4.50-4.75! Vines is solid 4.75! Both would lose 6-1,6-2 to top US high school boys players ! Heck, the top girls would beat ‘em too! That being said, Vines is very technically solid. When playing in his age group against other 65 year old guys, he looks like a 5.5! Still got great leg speed and few guys have the two handed backhand topspin necessary to combat his amazing topspin forehand!
Vines is playing singles at nationals next week in New Orleans! I expect him to win it, without much trouble. You will see a 50% default due to injuries in the 65 grouping where 91 players are registered. Same 65 registered for doubles. Vines would have more trouble if he played doubles! Just too dam hard to play two six set matches in one day for five days in a row!
Vines net play 🎉is fantastic! Difference in this match as Waldman missed a slew of net volleys
I'd love to play with any of them, I'd lose but they would have fun for sure. I am 59 y/o living in Orlando😀
Great place to live and play tennis! Are you near Lake Nona?
I lost 4 and 0 when I played Vines. He started hitting the lines and his cross court backhand starting taking me out of the point. on grass
A lot of people would be proud to have gotten 4 games from Mark. I was taking lessons from him years ago and at the end of one lesson we played a point and I played the point of my life. I hit the duece service box out wide, then volleyed ball to the opposite sideline with a good shot, which he got to, and then finally the opposite sideline from that. He got to it to but missed the backhand crosscourt into the net. It made my day to just win that one point, and I had to hit every shot perfect. To win a game would be superhuman, so congrats on four games.
@@10smike -thanks
@@10smike- Montovessal and Wade McGuire are the best I have played against followed by Vines, Tabares and Wilder-
Atacan la red a lo loco sin pensar ..
Mark has fairly good speed but he’s far from the fastest player in the age group. (Maxime, Sal, Stearns, et al.) Watch the footwork. He split steps every single time he should. That’s worth 2 or 3 feet of coverage and more importantly set up time.
Great observation! Thanks.
Another well trained player at the eh...ahh...eh....ahh....professional moaning school of tennis.
