Thank you Mike for making this content. These guys are fun to watch and the opportunity to see this is very helpful for anyone trying to become a better competitor. I have enjoyed your videos for years and thankful for your efforts. Please continue making senior tennis a priority because analyzing these matches are more real for me and my students. Most people can learn a lot from these videos where watching the pros can be dubious. We can understand this level because it's just a little higher than most; not like the pros. God bless

Mike, I enjoyed meeting and talking with you at the senior tournament in St. Petersburg, FL at the end of February. I’ve watched a lot of your tennis videos, and I appreciate the work you do to support senior tennis. Did you film the 80 singles final between Hank Irvin, and Henry Steinglass? If so, I hope you are planning on putting it on tennis videos in the near future. Again, thanks for all you do for senior tennis. Billy Scruggs 👍

Very good video. I played the 65+ doubles in this tournament. We lost a 1st round match in an STB but won the consolation draw. Vines and his partner lost in the finals of the 65+ doubles...I think he ran out of gas. Vines beat a very good 65+ guy in singles 6-0, 6-0! When Vines is on he's fantastic (you'd almost expect that from someone who won an ATP event).

It is interesting to watch him. He doesn't just stand there and hit winners. He constructs points ......and then hits winners right and left. :)

I thought Vines would beat him like a drum at the beginning but this got real good and close

I have been watching a lot of these senior videos. What surprises me is how few seniors have taken the time to buy a ball machine and learn the modern forehand. I mean ... it's not THAT hard and it's an incredible competitive advantage. I'm 57 and I learned it 10 years ago. As I get older and lose mobility, I find it more and more important to push my opponents with hard forehands -- making THEM run so they can't make me run hahaha. I know Mark Vines has argued that it's unfair to ask seniors to re-learn how to play. Fair enough. Just saying it's a big advantage and not that hard to learn.

An interesting comment and the way you put it, it's a good question. There's a great discussion here on the difference between modern and classic technique. ua-cam.com/video/_4DBMH1wzG8/v-deo.html At the end, the presenter says he thinks that Federer started with a more classic fh before going modern, HOWEVER, he also thinks Federer had a better (!) fh when he was classical. Anyway, it's an interesting discussion, and might answer your "question".

Mike, it was great meeting and talking with you at the senior tournament in St. Petersburg, FL. I’ve enjoyed watching your videos of senior tennis. The effort you put into recording and putting them on UA-cam is very much appreciated. Did you film the 80 singles final between Hank Irvin and Henry Steinglass? If so, I hope you are planning on putting it up in the near future. Thanks again for all the things you do to promote senior tennis. Billy Scruggs

Sorry Billy, I didn't get the singles, but I did get the doubles, so that'll go up sometime soon. Enjoyed meeting you too!

How fast are they serving the ball? I can't see for both 1st and 2nd serves? Thanks

How does the swingvision thing work, it can just tell what type of shot it is in real life? Does it fuck up often or not really? Looks pretty perfect on this replay.

If you go to my affiliate link under the video, you can get those questions answered. In short, it is an amazing app. I use it to delete the dead time between points and focus on certain shots.

Mark Vines has the best command of wtist hingement in the world 💯. Better than Glen Busby. Busby just has better wheels at this point, plus stronger upper body. Mark's serve is what separates him( and topspin forehand for lefty) than any current American player( except me, and i have been injured,on an off for past two years) You aint beating Busby or Vines without an Agassi/ Conners two handed topspin backhand
