Denise: bless you for sharing this. I gave up my much loved loom knitting due to a disability in my hands, making it next to impossible to hold the hooks. Now I can hold the hook without pain or frustration and am knitting all my favorites for family and friends. Thank you so much!
LoomaHat.com Denise, passing along a tip. My roommate saw the grip cover on my hook and asked if we could make a larger one to cover her baby's bottles. Using a 12 peg flower loom and your instrux, we made 3 bottle covers in a day! Bright, colorful and keeps the glass bottle cuddled up in a protective sheath, that is easily removed for cleaning. We are both so grateful for your tutorial. I even figured out how to cover the bottom of the bottle and make a little raised foot to keep the bottle level. So Much Fun. I will try and get a picture for your gallery :) Blessings to you for all you do!
LoomaHat.com YAY... I am so glad I had an idea to contribute! To make the foot, do a row of twisted bands peg to peg. Next row, link 2 bands together and place them on peg 1, skip 2 and 3 and put on peg 4. Repeat on 2 and 5, 3 and 6 etc., knit off. Row 3, link 3 bands together, stretching each longer band across (as if making a flower) 1 to 6, 2 to 7 etc., until all have a set of bands, then knit off. Now you can start using bands just as you would for the grip, i.e, 1 band over 2 pegs. It takes 12 bands per row, 8 rows per inch (aprox). When you get to the end, do a chain cast off until you have only one band left, then lift up the next (previously cast off) onto the next peg and use the little plastic double hook to secure the end and voila, done and done. :) The bottle sock will stretch enough...Put it on like you would pantyhose, rolling it up the bottle. I've been playing around with the idea of making a half grip for my mason jars (that I use for my ice tea) using the 24 peg knifty knitter :) I'll let you know how it works out. Have a blessed day! L
What a god-send Denise!! I have not been loom knitting for a long period of time, but have been loom knitting alot (thanks to you and your fabulous videos)!! My thumb was getting very painful so I made one of these and now I am going to cover all my hooks. Thank you for such thorough videos. I am hooked! LOL! I have made several comfort dolls, a kitty and am now working on the socks with bubbles. I have started a binder for the printed patterns that I have purchased on your website. God Bless, keep up the wonderful work.
This is great. Have made a few for my loom hooks. When I tried to make one for my small crochet hooks, it seemed too big, so I made one using 4 pegs instead of 6 and it works great. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
This is perfect! One of my grand daughter's (I have 6) occupational therapist wanted her to have a thicker grip on a short pencil. I knew I had seen this in your videos. Very easy. I am going to have the girls make them their own way. Another great for a loom!

Hi Denise, all the way from Australia! I just purchased my first ever loom knitting sets and was so happy to find your UA-cam channel! Your videos are great, so easy to watch and so easy to understand! We're in Winter at the moment and have had a LOT of rain, so it's the ideal environment to start learning a new craft! I've been a full leg amputee for 5yrs and have a lot of health issues so spend heaps of time in hospital, Dr's surgeries and wanted something that was different to the other crafts I've done to keep my mind and hands busy. When I first saw your covered knitting hook in one of your other videos, I fell in love with it and thought how much having a grip like that would help with my hand and finger pain. I've just got to find the little rubber bands! Thank you so much for providing wonderful projects and making them so easy to follow. I'm hoping to do a pair of your ever so cute slippers for my mum's birthday. I am just so thankful to have found you!! I hope you keep teaching us and developing beatiful new projects. Take care and loads of hugs and kisses from Down Under!
Omgosh I looked all over amazon for a loom hook like yours thinking the rainbow was part of it! Lol Thank you for the tutorial and for teaching me how to loom knit!
,Thank You Soooo much for showing me how to make my grip for my hooks!!! You are a great teacher and went slow so I could see every step! Now, my fingers shouldn't ache so much knitting for long periods. God Bless from Tx! 😄😁😊💖
I have made several hats, a pair of boot cuffs, eternity scarf and a regular scarf based on your super awesome instructions. You are a wonderful and talented instructor with an amazing gift. Thank you for sharing your good works; your rock! I purchased a bag of various sized rubber bands from the Dollar Tree and used the smallest varieties (not consistent) to complete this project by alternating the rounds by tension. It is awesome!
I made one for each of my looming hooks. As I made the first one I wasn’t sure I’d like it. Shouldn’t have worried. This cover really does make the looming process much more comfortable!
Hi Denise, I'm so glad I found you! I've watched several of your videos and I really appreciate the quality of your tutorials. The instructions are clear, the sound and lighting are consistently good quality. I love that you don't "fiddle" with your work while you're explaining or talking about it and that you're not waving your hands about extraneously. Thank you with deep gratitude and very well done. 😊
Omg.....what a relief!! I tend to grip my yarn hook and crochet hook so tight that I now have a huge callous on my finger. I just finished the rubber band grip and tried it on my loom. It's a life saver. Thanks for the video. Your instructions were super easy..... Keep looming!!
We recently introduced a relative to loom knitting and one of our instructions was to watch all of the videos produced by Loom A Hat!!! Your videos are tops for all whether new, intermediate or advanced. You are a great teacher. Many thanks.
Well, I just finished my first grip, AWESOME... I have never loomed what so ever, I'm going to go and buy bigger looms. Thank you for your awesome video. Love looming, can't stop, won't stop. Have a great day....

Was going to buy a rainbow loom not realizing I can use my Knitting loom. Just need those elastics. Love your channel, have subscribed and joined. (going to up my subscription) The best teacher ever.
Thank you so much for this video. This is genius! I was getting some pain in my thumb from loom knitting (probably arthritis, since I'm no spring chicken). I saw this video, grabbed some left over rubber bands and a straight loom, made one of these, and put it on my pick and tried it out, and noticed the difference right away! Thumb felt instant relief! I could hardly believe it! I love your patterns and your web site! All your instructions are so well thought out and clear.
Thank you so much for this video! Thank you for all of them, really. All I used to be able to make was hats with my looms; thanks to you I'm branching out into all kinds of wonderful things! Your videos are always so clear and you have a nice, peaceful voice too, which makes watching them a pleasure. Thanks again for saving my hands!
I'm sure glad I ran across this video my rubber bands were starting to slide off. Hopefully this will keep them on longer... thank you for sharing.... I ❤U
Just discovered your web site. Having to switch to loom knitting because my hands can't handle tatting or counted cross stitch any more. The small size of the hook limited the time I could spend so this is perfect. Thank you for all your videos. Usually I hate videos but yours are great. You have such a nice voice!
Oh, I am so happy! My grip came out colorful and perfect! Thank you! I know this will help my neuraphaty in my three finger of my loom and crochet hand! 💙🧡💚❤️💜💛💗👳♀️

Hi, I have used the proper 6 hooks as shown and now my grandchild has asked that I do his pen and pencils too. I just love it. Cant stop buying bands !!!!!
Love this! Thanks, Denise! I've never commented before, but you and my friend, Denise, who has been my teacher (and frequently still rescues me from my silly mistakes), have been responsible for all I know. (Both she and I love all your videos!) Thank you! 💞
I love your videos and I love the way you came up with cool grip because I was doing you doll and it hurt the inside of my hand so I hope now it will be good on my hand and if so I will make more . So thank you for coming up with the grip . Look forword to make more of you things .
I can’t thank you enough for this video! Being disabled it truly becomes uncomfortable after a little while of loom knitting, crocheting and being my favorite relaxing hobbies this wonderful idea will help so much!! The moment I watched it I made my first one as you went along! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!💜💜💜
Dear Denise, I am new to loom knitting and while I was waiting for my set of looms to arrive I decided to explore UA-cam where I found your website. You are such an excellent teacher and have provided me with all the information I was looking for. The new looms arrived today and I can't wait to get going but first I wanted to thank you for all the inspiration you have given me. As I have arthritis in my hands I shall be visiting the toy shop to find some loom bands to make a comfy grip for my hook. Have a very Happy New Year, Carol UK
I am so excited, I saw one of these last week and really wanted one. Now all I have to do is get some rubber bands. Thanks for teaching me how to do it.

Have basically started over in my Looming ( a year and a half ago) so I am in the process of learning all over again. I have so many plans and excitement in starting again. ( empty nest and husband works a lot) lol
Omgosh. I'm sitting here almost not breathing. So awesome. I have issues with my hands. I'm going to do this for all of my instruments. And I have many. A few at a time,,, but THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS WITH ME.
This was super easy now I know why the kids love the rainbow loom! I bought the mini loom to make it and it worked well...even though the peg space was a little small.

Wow! I was just talking with my husband about wishing loom hooks had soft squeeze holders. And here you did it! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Love watching your channel ! 💚😀😀
Thank you, Denise. I didn't have a rectangle loom, just round ones, but I used 6 pegs on the Loom that came with my pack of Rainbow Loom rubber bands. I just took the attachments off so I could loom in a corner with 6 pegs.
Love it ! Thank You for all your Instruction Video`s . Always clear and easy to get a "Grip" (hehehe) I`ll be making these for all my Loom Hooks & crochet hooks.
Denise, I loved this video tutorial! I made a purple and turquoise grip for my loom knitting hook. I just started loom knitting about 3 weeks ago. I love it! I have made several hats. I tried to make the garter stitch placemat, but it became a hot mess, so I threw it out. Lol I will continue to look for inspiration in your videos. Thank you so much.
Incredibly clever and functional,I have noticed after a few hours on the loom these old hands are stiff in the morning this is a godsend ,I saw this tool in your last video tonight and thought to myself l need one of those where did she get that! Thankyou again for sharing your functional beautiful works!
i really enjoyed this video. I cant wait to do my own grip. I got a little confused with how to do it with the round loom, that's what I have, but I think I can do it. I really like how clear you sound and that you go slow explaining. Thank you!!!
+Corinne Butcher Thank you Corrinne - this is one of my favorite favorite favorite projects EVER - I use it every single day. So glad you like it as much as I do.
+Liz Feick It's one of my favorite projects - I use this EVERYDAY - Super practical for adults and kids - plus fun to make . Happy to share it with you guys. Big Hugs Liz !
LOVE this idea/project. I was so glad to learn that I could use my round looms. I've made several of these already. I found packs of bands (750) at the Dollar Store in my area. I love how much nicer these feel in your hand. Thank you sooooo much for such clear and easy instructions.
I finally sat down to work on making a grip for my loom knitting tool. Originally, I bought the loom set from Walmart. Big mistake. Since I don't have a long loom I decided to use the suggestion from Denise to use two round looms. Well, the Walmart looms are not the same gauge at all to what Denise is using here. Not even close. So I am having to modify the pattern from what Denise showed. Denise, you are so easy to follow and I am very thankful for that. I am seeing the grip take shape but using the two looms together is much harder, I am sure. Thanks for sharing this, Denise! P.S.: I have since bought some better looms that I really love and work with on a regular basis. I decided to use the looms from Walmart because they just sit around and collect dust. Well, now I understand why. LOL Thanks again, Denise! :)
Hi Janet - I'll tell you that those looms are the only ones I don't recommend. ua-cam.com/video/xtHXQVoPcKk/v-deo.html ... and btw - Thanks for the Thanks I really appreciate it !

Thank you for sharing. It makes my needle much more useable.

Denise, I loved this video tutorial! I made a purple and turquoise grip for my loom knitting hook. I just started loom knitting about 3 weeks ago. I love it! I have made several hats. I tried to make the garter stitch placemat, but it became a hot mess, so I threw it out. Lol
I will continue to look for inspiration in your videos. Thank you so much.

LOVE this idea/project. I was so glad to learn that I could use my round looms. I've made several of these already. I found packs of bands (750) at the Dollar Store in my area. I love how much nicer these feel in your hand. Thank you sooooo much for such clear and easy instructions.
Thanks for the Dollar Tree tip. I'm on a really strict budget so this excited me greatly ☺

+Deborah InWonderland Thank you for the Thank you Deborah . Very much appreciated !
