Thanks for this video. I use to do a technique that was good but this is better and quicker. Saved me close to 20-30 mins doing this way. And I taught myself how to do it.
Love to see somebody doing it the Wright way.... I had a truck driver hit me with the buckel and i had two surgery I been out of work five years......Thanks
That sucks i try to stay away from other trucks if possible but ya been throwin like that for years i am out of truck right now do to medical issues with neck an lower back
Have you ever been told by different DOT officials that running the strap threw the ratchet is mandatory… I run my straps like you and guys at work tell me it’s not legal. Great video driver 🤘🏽
I have been told by numerous dot that the tighter u can get them the better the way I have been doing it for yrs I have never lose product an an no dot officer has ever pulled on my straps an lose them on a load an I have had them pulled on alot by alot of states
I just got a conestoga put on my trailer. First time ever using one, love it except I have a hard time getting my straps through my rub rails with that weather strip they put under. I like the way you fold First and put into winch but I also have a hard time getting folded straps into winch. Was curious if you ran only a specific strap or maybe I just have to get mine broken in a little bit more ( I am running all new straps also) Thanks for the video, great info
No specific strap just well used u have to smash the fold down for it to fit in there but its fast for me to do it that way tuck folded strap under load an fold in to winch
Any advice on how to tighten straps without messing up your shoulder? I seem to have messed up my right shoulder on my first week of flatbedding trying to make my straps super tight
What type of wrentch is that? Real curious because I'm a female in the flatbed industry and I need to find a wrentch tool that will tighten my load easier than the wrentch bar.
DOT requires 1 strap per 5 feet of load. 2 seraps minimum for 10 feet. 3 straps at 12 feet to 17 feet of length Yes, the load he is securing is under strapped. Yet he is also running a conestoga trailer.
You look at the weight vs strap strength. Figure out how many straps you need vs how many you personally want. Then follow the dot method of five feet. If the strap strength is 5400 and you have 45000lbs you want 9 straps. I don’t think of it as 5400 but 5000….flatbed is all about the puzzle.
I got a job they keep forcing me to do flatbed I said I'm about to just pack and go home no sir they gave me dry van we got a deal I take my hat off for you guys this job is not for me f that respect to you all
dangerous trailer design ratchets are on the live side of the trailer ,which means if the driver ever needs to tighten them on the road side he will be working near live traffic
Man that catapult throw you do with those straps is very slick. Going to practice that. Appreciate ya.

@@bigbearccoffin sorry to hear that hope you feel better.. we need more people like you out here....
I really liked this video. This fella made that look real easy.
Once u get it down it is easy to do
Love it awesome job! 👌 and also i use 3 straps for the front and back of load. Just for peace of mind😅😂
Hello, when you have your strap folded in two. are you going all the way to the winch or halfway ? Can't see video doesnt show.
They go thru

Dude got skills nice 👍 job.
I was told at orientation that you should have alternative pull so that it all don’t shift to one side
Not all trailers have winches on both sides that trailer doesn't have a winches track on passenger side
I do like the way he get it over the other side will try.
I like the way he does his straps
You're the goat

I looking around to get one for my stepdeck, where did you get it done?
Can't see what he is doing?
Trust me that's a good thing. He's got some DOT violations in this video. 😂
Any advice on how to tighten straps without messing up your shoulder? I seem to have messed up my right shoulder on my first week of flatbedding trying to make my straps super tight
U don't have to super tighten ur straps
Go as tight as u can get them run or drive for couple hrs stop an recheck them and or retighren them is best play
@@bigbearccoffin yeah I think that's what messed up my shoulder. Trying to go super tight. And then I struggle to get them off.
Nice. I have a bad back. Where did you get that ratchet from and what brand?
Iowa 80 truck stop u can google ratchet bar an alot of them come up that one was one of the first ones made I love it its heavy but love it
What type of wrentch is that? Real curious because I'm a female in the flatbed industry and I need to find a wrentch tool that will tighten my load easier than the wrentch bar.
Go to Walcott ia i80 chrome shop it's a ratcheting winch bar
Those stacks look longer than 10ft.
Love tecnique
What's that on the end of your bar that tightens the straps down. Also where can I find it?
It's a ratchet bar
Iowa 80 Walcott IA is where I got mine an I think u can order one online
What's tool u using it to tighten it down??
Ratcheting winch bar
This video is underrated
What do u mean by underrated
Just curious, given the softness of wood, why no edge protectors?
Thats hardwood i was loading but i have never seen anyone use edge protecters on lumber it dosent hurt it
Because they don't use this for Furniture.
That’s SYP not hardwood but nobody picks the top rows anyway.
I loaded in the same locations
Pro. 👌👌👌
I never learned how to throw a strap like that.
it keeps from hurting ur back an arms an sholders to loop an over the head always gose over the load even in wind
I remember being with him and helping
Saves ur back an arms
No anti noise twist in the strap?
Conestoga
How do you know how many straps to use? Legally

I know that I was with him for a long time
Y como se suelta?
English
“How do you loosen them” translation
Just loosen push down on winch an flip winch lock up
No edge protectors needed for this type of lumber?
Not on lumber loads
I got a job they keep forcing me to do flatbed I said I'm about to just pack and go home no sir they gave me dry van we got a deal I take my hat off for you guys this job is not for me f that respect to you all
He like to be safe
Someone's a speed strapper
And it’s not him 😂
dangerous trailer design ratchets are on the live side of the trailer ,which means if the driver ever needs to tighten them on the road side he will be working near live traffic
That's why u do load checks when u stop for fuel an breaks
