Going to pickup my first #flatbedgang lumber load Thursday morning in Southern, VA headed for PA!!! Outfitted my T680 and got my truck ready!! Can't wait to join you out there. I know it wont be easy but thats what makes it lucrative!I'm watching to see what im in for!
You’re a real respectful dude. I love how you move. You talked to that forklift driver like he was your Pops. Respect is undervalued these days. I guess that’s you embracing your inner elephant 🐘✊🏾💪🏾 (Humble yet powerful)
Enjoyed the video Choice. Good footage and good music. High quality, very creative. Keep doing your thing as always bro. You're an inspiration to me and one of my go to sources of good info as I'm still considering doing trucking myself. Stay humble n stay blessed! Grace n peace
There are numb-skulls that would say that you have too many straps. I'd say just like any other good flatbed runner, "Better to over secure every time rather than under secure once and cause a massive problem." Nice job!
It's crazy you could say I'm inpatient person but I'm taking the extra time to over secure I don't like have any concern or be looking in mirrors to much
@@Mike-fo7jo well I'm an owner operator going into my second year now. It's going alright driving for a company will make your hair turn grey a lot slower then being owner operator
I work for a lumber company in Minnesota and we don’t have semis, just trucks with 18ft flatbeds and airbrakes. I’m the new guy and the old-heads laugh at me because I’ll add 2-4 straps per unit or stacked unit. Not because of the weight, but just because I don’t want it to move around on me at all. 4 months in, and I’ve hit nothing, and I’ve damaged no lumber or property. Don’t have to constantly babysit my mirrors. My motto is; do it right, or do it twice. I don’t want anyone or anything to get hurt/damaged, and it only takes me a few extra minutes to make sure everything is secure. I also don’t have a CDL. They all do. Apparently my vehicle weighs less than theirs, and I also get the smaller loads, so it’s legal here. I do the same job, though. You can’t visually tell a difference between the size of our trucks, and our loads usually. They get paid $5/more than I do. It’s annoying :/
Where every you are Choice in Elliottsburg PA, you have a nice beautiful sunset. As always, looks funny when ya vids speed up. I understand you just making the unloading process of your truck more faster to show us how its done. Laters Matt
Matt yeah I try not to bore the viewers with a long drawn out video of me doing the same thing over and over again. God Bless to you Matt and it's those beautiful mornings and sunrises that I feel the presence the most. I understand He is always present. Thanks for watching.
Choicemas You show some very good detailed videos, Im going to be signing on board with Gypsum Express and they deal with drywall, lumber shingles and some steel. I used to work at at sheetrock company for 14 years so your tarping and securing is familiar to me, when I had to load our trucks and park them in the warehouse for the next day to be shipped out.
Say you have to slam on the brakes. What are the chances some lumber goes sliding out? Saw a fb post where that happened, so I'm curious how common of an occurance that is.
Today is my first day doing lumber delivery wish me luck Haha great video thanks for the upload L&R from your friend up in Alberta canada and I'm sure the 10 dislikes are tree planters crying while they sit on a chair made of wood in a house made of wood etc
Choice M.A.S. Damn. Yeah the Note has great video quality also. But either way, you are a great help to all the truck drivers out here. Thanks a lot. Keep up the good work
Great to see videos. I'm just starting out too. I noticed that the front stack the middle strap-should it go under too the bigger part of that load? I don't see donnage
I think what you meant to say is that you were thinking he should have belly rapped the top half of the load, with the middle strap. On the front stack. And I agree.
Sweet you didn't have to tarp it, roll out no extra sweatin' is always good & a little help from the fork truck is always welcomed. Sent this one to my girl so she can see a little of what I intend to do & she can understand it some. You don't move much machinery do you? Backhoes, loaders, excavators...does Roehl do much of that? Gotta love the privateer at the end that I'm pretty sure you flashed so he could pass, and no "thank you" in return. Guess since he/she can run faster no thank you is required...knuckle heads, what can you do lol. Stay fresh & safe
+eugene roman1 Peace Eugene, I appreciate you watching and definitely appreciate you sharing the vids. No, we drive trucks only... no heavy machinery operating. We don't even touch any freight. Yeah, you learn some patience out here for sure 😂👍🏼💯
Yes sjip to 3:00 if all your interested in seeing is securement. If you enjoy partially cinematic securement videos, by all means watch the entire videl. If not listen to Ben Crosbie. Either way I appreciate anyone who takes anytime to check any little bit out with hopes it helps and inspires others. 🙏💯👊🏼
Man if I was ready to buy another truck I’d definitely be trying to steal you from rohel you definitely work harder at flatbedding than I do but like the end result
Good morning choice, what meant was I don't see any machinery on your back. Do you only haul building materials? No heavy haul machinery/oversize type stuff? Stay fresh & safe
MAN O MAN,u out in the country on this pick up,didnt see any horse and buggies, amish guys, kinda nice to be out like that all corn and soy bean fields, beautiful scenery, kinda relaxing in a way, good lob on securing load,2 extra straps took what 10 minutes, now u have peace of mind,it aint moving,TIME FOR A RIDE ALONE, company policy no more,if so ,their bat and ball,u play the game there way,
I been doing van and reefer since the day I graduated school 2 years ago! And I'm going with ruehl trucking on October 16th in there flatbed division never flatbed in my life! Any tips bro?!
+Super Trucker33 you started with more experience than I did. I had to teach myself Securement as well because I was sent out to train with a curtainsider. With that said, I would say to get to know you weights and weight loads, ask other drivers questions about Securement whenever you’re at a shipper or a consignee and need some direction, ask questions to a driver that secured their load differently than yours, find out why, how...etc. considering you already have driving experience you will be able to focus on mastering your Securement. That’s cool. Depending on how clean you like to keep your truck I would suggest getting 2 pairs of boots. One for the rough and rugged nasty weather (the pair you don’t want in your truck and your sleeper) and another pair for the fair weather dry and paved customers (the ones you don’t mind wearing in your truck lol. A damn good pair of gloves too! Prep for the winter! 👍🏼👊🏼
Yo bro I start on the 16th!!! Holla at me I want to chat about the lease program and trying to meet up!! idk if there a way to send my email thru message on here or not!
