Your visit to the Badaling section of the Great Wall brings back fond memories of my two trips there years ago. Chinese saying: You are not a hero if you have never climbed the Great Wall. So both of you are heroes now! Haha! You may like to check out your fellow UA-camr "Ying's Travel - Cheapest Sightseeing Train in China -Great Wall Scenic Train" to Badaling by the one-hour 8 minutes S2 suburban which costs only 7 RMB or a bit more than 1 USD. You missed out the beautiful night view of the Great Wall snaking its way over the mountains but you can still see it at 22:00 in his vlog. Enjoy rest of your trip to Beijing.
Few years ago we were stranded at one of wildlife sanctuary at one of Shanghai remote town and it was far away from city. Fortunately the initial city cab driver who dropped us at the sanctuary was kind to get another cab to wait for us at the gate to get us back to town centre. We are grateful for their helpful thoughts
What a beautiful day, China really take great efforts to clean the air and improve the environment, way to go! About 7 wonders, same here, I visited Great Wall, Taj Mahal, Chitchen itza, Colosium, still want to see Machu Pichu, Christ the redeemer, Petra one day.
When I was last standing on the Great Wall what I thought was the soldiers dressed in their armour sprinting to their positions while I was panting just climbing the Wall. Respect 🙏🙏👍
Blue sky over the Great Wall in Beijing! Chairman Mao wrote a famous poem about the Great Wall in which he said "one who fails to reach the Great Wall is not a true man". So your both are a true man and a true woman from now on!
Those marks left on the wall were made at least 40 or 50 years ago, when the preservation of ancient archaeology sites as it used to be was still a relatively new concept.
❤ love your vlogs and how you show the real challenges white travelling.I love how you always throw in a bit of local information.its great how you try and.communicate with a few words and so nice that you always say thank you in the language.what a journey you're on.❤❤❤ take care and be safe and have fun xx
5:30 such a unique name! It could be translated as 瑞安(Rui An) or 蕊婉(Rui Wan), the former sounds closer to Reanne, but the latter one is more feminine and aesthetically pleasing.
We’re loving your videos they bring back fond memories of our trips to China .. if you’re in Shanghai do the Maglev 400+kmph magnetic levitation train to airport and back
I don't know when you will come to China next time, if it is in July and August, you must make a full plan, because this period is the peak tourist season in China, the scenic spots will be very crowded, and the weather in all parts of China is very hot at this time.On the list of Chinese cities that can be entered with a transit visa, cities with relatively pleasant temperatures in July and August are Kunming, Dalian, Qingdao, Harbin, Shenyang, Qinhuangdao. If you can get a tourist visa to China, there are many better places to choose. But July and August may not be the best time to visit China overall, with airfare and hotel costs dropping after the end of August, making it more cost-effective to visit China after that.If you come to China in September or October, it is best to avoid the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays.
Guys, if you are going to stay long in China, you should take the HSR to Xi’an, Chongqing and Chengdu. Not many from the west know much about Chengdu…. As if it is an ancient city but you see Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton there and much more. In Chengdu you should visit the few Giant Panda base (with Red Panda), Jiuzhaigou, Huang Long Scenic Area, Leshan Giant Buddha and Emei Mountain. Next you can go to Changsha where Zhangjiajie (Avatar Mountains) were there and later make you way to Huangshan. You will not regret for sure!
Ben, your guess was actually correct. The carving on the walls are just from tourists for the past maybe 30 years. They are new so they cannot be from thousands of years ago. As for the train tickets, the bullet trains or any fast speed trains, you can only buy the tickets online 15 days ahead. I would recommend to book the tickets about a few days earlier and if there is a big national holidays coming, they may need to book like 15 days ahead. Glad to see you two had your great experience at the Great Wall!👍
Reanne actually sounds quite like a Chinese name 瑞安, 芮安, or 睿安. 瑞安 is a neutral name for both males and females, meaning lucky, good fortune, peaceful, and safe. 芮安 is a name for females, meaning prosper, lively, peaceful, and safe. 睿安 is a sharp name, neutral but mostly used among males, meaning smart, thoughtful, peaceful, and safe.
love your video♥You could pronounce "Mixue" as "me sure" in Chinese. Full name for it is "Mi xue bing cheng", "mi" is sweet/honey, "xue" is snow, "bing" is ice, "cheng" is city. Hope you enjoy your travel in China♥
I think it's worth mentioning in your next video that in all Chinese "famous" scenic spots (which are mostly run by the government) you definitely don't need to worry about transporting yourself back to the city. Chinese are flexible enough to work something out especially for foreign visitors and it is actually the scenic spot's responsibility to ensure all visitors can go home in an orderly manner. It will never happen for someone to find himself stranded at a Chinese scenic spot. It just doesn't happen. Worst comes to worst you can call the police who should be able to help you out. So no sweat and just relax.
I've noticed that in that area of the great wall, there are not the small fortress along the wall that you can find in other areas, so is like a "plain" wall
Your Chinese name can be “蕾安”(lei an )or“瑞安”(rui an),“蕾”means bud which is very common for girls name , “瑞”means good fortune and is commonly used for both boys and girls ,and the "安"means safe. Both are pretty good names i'd say, very traditional and with good meaning, just like what a Chinese parent would name their baby girl
That part of the wall was rebuilt during the Ming Dynasty about 500 years ago. The Ming chased the Mongols out of China and thought that it was a pretty good idea to try to keep them there.

I have watched a documentary long time ago, showing by satellite that part of the wall was buried under the ground, so the wall should be longer than it was measured in the old days. Just wonder if the buried part is included in the 2000+ km.
Reanne is pronounced similarly to "ree-AN," which is consistent with the Chinese name "瑞安" (Ruì'ān). Interestingly, there is a city named Ruian (瑞安) in Zhejiang Province, China.

One secret to increasing access and attention is to make subtitles in both Chinese and English and upload them on Bilibili or TikTok. Because China has a very large group of people who need to learn English. And people like to learn English and enjoy traveling and eating at the same time.😂

The Great Wall is too long and has a long history. Some of it has been renovated, and carving names on the wall is a sign of low quality. There are always some Chinese people who like to carve names wherever they go, and most Chinese people dislike this behavior

Wow! The great wall of China! ❤❤
The great wall people are visiting today was built during Ming dynasty, about 500 years ago.
We did the same...took the bus to get back to CBD. Love the Great Wall of China!

translation of your name could be 蕾安, which means flower bud and peace
Hi guys excellent videos very informative, couple of questions, whereabouts are you staying and where did you get your SIM card from. Thanks
