Vanessa Kirby’s performance as Margaret ( young adult) had been overlooked. She delivered a magnificent turn as a complex character with a roller coaster life.
Her depiction of the younger Margaret compared to portray of the elder Princess is night & day. The latter a strong caricature. Kirby crawled into Margaret’s troubled skin.
His scene with young Charles in the plane cockpit was visceral and brutal. He was so vicious to his son but it was so consistent as a projection of his response to his own weakness and trauma and how Philip can’t conceive nor accept any other way of living because it would mean facing it trauma and validating his emotions which he had learnt for so long not to do. “Stop being so BLOODY weak” but is it to Charles or young Philip?
Matt Smith just has this way of talking, it's so distinct, like Gary Oldman, Christopher Walken, etc. Every time he speaks a word it sounds dramatic and almost suspicious or villainous. Seeing him go from The Crown, where he was still kind of a "bad guy", to House of Dragons is wild. Absolutely love the dudes acting, its fantastic.
I can’t stand the whole concept of royalty but I was captivated by this series. I think this probably struck must closer to home than the Brits would like to admit.
well, the actor who played George VI in this series does feel like an aged Colin Firth, who played the late king in his early days as king in The King's Speech, so I just assume this is the older version of that "George VI"
omfg that's like my favorite part XD "overthrow william? overthrow charles?? overthrow her majesty?!?!?!" that and also "as opposed to me who's wearing slippers and a full on night tee and like buttoned up to the..."
"I guess the nice thing about Philip is that he is kind of the dissident in every way, he sort of just does what he wants." This, my friend, sounds very much like The 11th Doctor and the rogue prince Daemon Targaryen... "Or maybe that's just because I am a really lazy actor" I guess we can say that, yes...
Matt has the face any profile painter would love, his contours are to die for even though hes young you can see the old man in him straight away, hes beautiful without the gay charm or masculine energy or fine lines if ya get me? 😉😂 He played Philip to a Tee 100% and when bearded looked uncaringly like Harry, it was a magnificent performance. xxx Like Kenta said, Netflix really did strike gold with the casting, every single one of them, it was bloody fantastic. xxxx

It's on Netflix, I'm pretty sure it should be available everywhere for it is an original Netflix production. If it isn't, you can still buy at least series 1-3 on DVD at this time.
Netflix really struck gold with the casting. The writing was also brilliant but the casting was superb! All capable and very talented actors.
Completely agree!
Music was great too

Hardly overlooked. Although she didn’t win the Emmy she was widely lauded for her performance. I’m not sure what you’re talking about.
Matt Smith is amazing as Phillip. Simply amazing.
He's better than Tobias
Menzies...my opinion.
Priscila M completely agree

@@priscilafm8090 not better than Tobias imo - Tobias felt more like the real Philip - smith was great but it felt like a character, not a real person.
The chemistry between these two made the series fun.
These two need to play Darcy and Elizabeth in a new film adaption of Pride & Prejudice. Their chemistry is 🔥
Caitlin Joy Matt Smith plays In pride and prejudice and zombies alongside Lily James, Sam Riley and Douglas Booth. It’s actually worth to see :)

He is a scorpio so…
They seem very comfortable with each other
I want them to be together :')
The best show on Netflix
matt smith is such an incredible man/actor
My eyes were all on her the whole clip. Damn, she's so beautiful!
2:49, Claire looks so proud 😆
This was 5 years ago and I'll bet both of these actors would like to take back their Harry comments today.
I want these 2 to get together & live their lives as if they ARE Elizabeth & Phillip. Nothing else will make me happy.
Yes pls
I can't believe I'm replying to this but, YES!
These two were the best !
Best Netflix show
Claire Foy looks rather fetching as a blonde!
Why is it always fun to watch them in any interview together?
"It's not just your bum." 😂😂😂😂 I can't-
I can’t stand the whole concept of royalty but I was captivated by this series. I think this probably struck must closer to home than the Brits would like to admit.
She’s a tremendous actress ❤
When they said they really liked Harry I immediately flipped to the date of the video.
Why
@@evok3226 the whole scandal with meghan markle has changed a lot of people’s opinions of harry
@@icedrice-ts5zz i see
3:23 so cute 😂😂😂
Claire Foy is even hotter as a blonde
Claire Foy is bloody gorgeous!😍
Claire Foy has EXEMPLARY resemblance to Emily Blunt
the cast was impeccable EXCEPT George VI for physical resemblance where Duke of Windsor was superb .
Harris portrayal was exceptional despite the physical disparity to the real King.

I was sooo happy to see the Mad Men guy play the King, he's tops with me. Please quite killing this guy in every thing he does, lol.
Brillant show utterly stunning.
I simply think Matt Smith could play prince Harry in the show
Yes it would be perfect
Bring him back to play Harry
Matt Smith can speak every language in the universe but struggles on accent.
He struggles? His Philip was perfect.
Matthew looks like a member of the royal family 🎉
3:18 SALACIOUS!

He's very articulate
That’s daemon Targaryen
These two were just great. Stopped watching when the actors changed.
Exactly ....!!
I agree. I miss them a lot. But I still love the series as much.
Second cast was mediocre
Hiddlesbum was not the only thing people talked about in Night manager! It was trending but the show was great.
edit: It's the daily mail nevermind!!
Forest lass so glad to have seen this, and yes I remember that! Haha XD
Well, that title was misleading. He doesn't talk really about having trouble with the accent.
Let's just be honest half of us only watched it because Matt was in it but it's a great series
Guilty.😉
And the other half of us for Claire.
@@OfficialJoeKingOne ikr😂
I hoped they watched the Night Manager after this. It’s great.
Her laugh is so.similar to Emily Blunt's
Blonde Claire Foy 😍
Really? No comment about the Doctor?😕
That actor has some really big eyes
They reversed hair colour lol
Wait, she IS doing an impersonation. Come on. It's not just the accent, the very texture of the voice, the mannerisms etc

He did? Doesn't sound any different from his usual one to me.
Even though Emelia Clarke did an okay job as Danaeris in Game if thrones I do think Claire Foy would have been the better choice
nahh emilia was perfect, cant imagine anyone else as khaleesi
Naah don't push it emilia was made for this role
Where can ppl outside UK watch it?

ugh, Harry!!! He's too simple to be king!
Bet you don’t like Harry now!!!
If you ever visit real England- it’s very much class oriented. I was actively ignored for being an American.
Smith's accent is quite posh.

3:03 is face you make when you are imagining tom hiddleston's bum.
We all love Harry & Margaret!
Harry can't be king anymore
I want Harry to be King too!!
@@acacia-bloom Harry King?! Never. Couldn't cope. And MM as queen? 🤮
He's 6th in line I guess, no matter how we want him to be a king, it's so unlikely, plus he didn't want to become one

He also struggled with not looking like a smarmy toolbag. But that is his forte.
