    Great tutorial. Adding some throttle in coordinating turn helps. I fly 3D helicopters. The way I think of it is, I'm using throttle to push the drone in the direction the model is oriented. Since there is no rudder or ailerons to push the wind. Throttle management helps the drone keep a constant altitude in turns. I could hear your throttle increase as you turn. I need to practice slow flight and hover in manual like you do.

    My maiden flight on Fri was only N and S mode. I also have a Mini 2 so I'm used to flying a gps drone but the speed the fpv has is awesome!
    After that I spent about 2 hrs in the simular before I figured out how to fly stable in manual. Then on my second actual flight, I flew in sport mode again on the first battery just to build up my confidence. Then I took it to manual for the first time on the second battery. I flew around ok just trying not to crash. I did good for a bit until I tried to land...it was basically a crash landing 😅. Luckily it was just a few feet high over the grass but I forgot how to shut the motors off so it was spinning on the ground for a min. It ripped up the grass and threw some dirt around while damaging a few propellers. Luckily no damage to the drone, just a bunch of dirt everywhere.
    Today was my third flight. I took off in S and went straight to manual. I'm really starting to get the hang of it. My turns are much smoother, I did a few tricks, and I hit 90mph on a speed run. Yup, this drone is 😎. Not as agile as other purpose built race drones but I like it.

      Even as a seasoned FPV pilot, getting on the DJI FPV train was just about the same. Afew runs in N and S modes, and eventually to M after I got a feel of the drone. It will NEVER be as sharp as DIY racing drones, but where all I want is to soar the distances safely, then DJI FPV has my full confidence. Leave most of the freestyling to DIY drones. As long as it makes u happy in the skies, nobody should tell you otherwise. Thanks for sharing your journey mate. See you in the skies!

    How do you accelerate and go faster in Manual mode? like in sport its the right stick i push it forward and i accelerate but how about in manual mode???

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  Рік тому

      Once you change to M Mode, you left stick up and down will no longer be altitude control, but instead will be Throttle. If you pitch your drone forward with the right stick, the drone will tilt forward and stay there event if you let go of the right stick. So this is where you give it throttle to fly forward. To have more speed, then you will need to combine more pitch and more throttle.
      Here is the episode on it:

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  3 роки тому +1

      Im having an episode in e future on that. But for info, by assigning turtle mode to c1, if u crash and your quad is upside-down (assuming nothing breaks), activating turtle mode on C1 will allow e quad to automatically flip itself rightside up by spinning e motors in reverse. Really cool. U font need to figure it out. E drone will sort itself out. Turtle mode is also avail in traditional FPV, so thats where it came from.

    Did you have motion sickness when you first started out, and is it something you get used to it with more practice? • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  3 роки тому

      YES I DID. Now less, but PHYSICALLY i still move my head around when im in FPV. MANY hours on e sim will help with that. Just take it at small intervals at a time, u'll be alright.

    • @hedroxthelegend
      @hedroxthelegend 3 роки тому

      @@TheReelRahim You're right, maybe that was main cause of it. Actually I don't feel the need to move my head around at all, but yesterday I did it on purpose just to see what will happen maybe. it's really bad when you're in the middle of a flight, it feels really awkward, and apprently it builds motion sickness.
      I will try a session with no head movement when goggles are on, and see what happens. :) Hope this is something I will get used to, since I'm very determined, the only obstacle would be me getting sick all the time, haha.

      DIY FPV pilots dont experience this sickness as often on the field, because we only fly for about 5mins. Not because we are tired, but because thats how long batts last on a DIY racing drone 🤭😅. So pushing it for 1-FULL-DJIFPV-BATT up in the skies os really challenging. Ever more if u do super acrobatic moves. Only 3 mins for me 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  3 роки тому

      There is only 1 way in manual, tilt the drone forward (pitch), and open that throttle. U will be facing more of the ground. The higher the camera angle, the faster u may go and still able to maintain view of the horizon. Here i mention about camera angles and its relation to flying speed:
      ua-cam.com/video/8WypWsn5I4Y/v-deo.html
      U have to switch off 'attitude limit', so as to be able to pitch the drone more than the limits to go faster. Hope this helps 🤟🏽

    How many hours you need to learn in sim before you try manual?your opinion?

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  9 місяців тому

      I spent many. Years back at about 1-2h a day, and for many weeks (maybe about 3 months) before I felt comfortable to try Acro on my DIY drone. Even with that, went high on my first flight so I could have enough reaction time. With Acro, high altitudes are boring as its mostly soaring, so went low and did freestyle. And this is where crashes will happen often. Its like there is driving and then there is defensive driving. You may be a good pilot high up, but being low to the ground is where you will sharpen your reactions in close proxy flying. This will be the next step to being a better pilot. So take your time to practice in the sim and try the moves that you cant risk in real life flights. Even if you crash it wont hurt, and will in turn also hone in your reactive skills. Good luck on this journey and see you in the skies soon!

    a question, having the yaw can does not return to the center, when you switch from manual mode to normal mode, do you take care to put the stick back in the center? or when you change mode or press the panic button he stops and does not consider the positions of the sticks.

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  2 роки тому +1

      I have to bring it back to centre if i switch from M to S or N mode. Quite easy, as u dont need to think about the sticks. When u switch, just note if the altitude of the drone is going up or down. Centre sticks will mean it just hovers in place. Give it a try 🤙🏼👍🏼

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, depends on country. Aviation authorities would have stated the rules of Line-Of-Sight and Beyond-Visual-Line-Of-Sight, LOS and BVLOS respectively. Personally Im trying to understand this too, coz we are BVLOS the moment u put on your goggles. So generally ill fly with a friend, connect up my goggles so he can have an external view and assist in LOS. Check the rules of your country.

      If it drifts and u cant throttle more coz drone will rise,then u have to bank (roll) harder. Try w big figure 8s, then go in tighter. If u have 2 trees that are far apart, that would be good reference points

    I don't understand, so I'm asking for an explanation.
    So if you point the right button up, does the drone go up or down?
    Another thing that interests me; if you point the left button up, does the drone go up, or does it go forward?

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  2 роки тому

      Ok heres a breakdown. Gonna explain the variation of Normal (Angle) Mode vs Manual (Acro) Mode.
      Normal Mode
      - Right Stick move Front/Back = Forward/Reverse
      - Right Stick move Left/Right = Sideways Left/Right
      - Left Stick move Front/Back = Higher/Lower drone altitude
      - Left Stick move Left/Right = Drone rotates anti-clockwise/clockwise
      Manual Mode
      - Right Stick move Front/Back = Pitch drone Down/Up
      - Right Stick move Left/Right = Roll drone Left/Right
      - Left Stick move Front/Back = Throttle control
      - Left Stick move Left/Right = Drone rotates anti-clockwise/clockwise
      To have a better understanding, u will need to try the differences in the simulator. Hope that helps. ✌🏽
