    Only truly comprehensive trick tutorial I've seen yet, yout controller is easy to see and your moves easy to understand, all other's I've seen kind of cover the sticks with their own hand ant it's nearly impossible to see what's happening. I will refer to this video again and again as I practive on Liftoff (no goggles) Please more content of this kind would be very helpful.

      @@TheReelRahim I had a chance to fly in the open field yesterday and practiced first 5 out of 6 of your basic tricks. I was scared at first and middle finger was always ready to tape the brake. Good thing I managed not to crash the drone :D. I will continue to practice more to get better muscle memory. DJI Sims is little bit awkward don't you think. It is much better to do a real flight. Once I get better, I will start looking at your next video with rate, sensitivity, and expo.

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  2 роки тому

      Doing great! From these basic tricks, u will be able to unlock more technical stuff, but for that u will need to either be VERY FAMILIAR w e sticks or build a DIY drone as CRASHES COME BY FASTER. But for now, just get them dialed in e way u prefer, and in due time get closer to ground/obstacles to have a more dynamic flight video. Take it slow tho. Iv paid my dues when i rush into things ✌🏽. This drone is just too fragile...
      Yes the sims is abit rigid. Doesnt have a real world flight feel, but the controls are e same, n thats whats important. Just keep an open mind when in practice. U can input my rates in the sim and have a feel for yourself ✌🏽

    My hardest part about manual mode was cutting throttle! I had always grew up with "when in doubt, throttle out" LMAO that don't work well with drones HA HA....when I would get out of control or turned around, i'd punch the throttle which is bad, very bad

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  6 місяців тому

      ESPECIALLY ON A POWEFUL 5in DRONE!!! Same journey man. Totally. Proxy flying was always a thing with freestyle drones (DJI FPV included), and when I started out with my first 5in diy fpv drone (Eachine Wizard 220), crashed that fella many times into tree canopies. Many rescue missions, great times. But I guess thats just a part of the journey that becomes a rights-of-passage kinda thing for any fpv drone pilot. More practice in the sim helps. The quality of the sim dont matter for me, as the time on the sticks is the focus. Hope that helps and I'll see you in the skies🤟🏽

    I think what people mistake is that you really don't need such high of rates to do freestyle. One tip I learned early in is fund a rate that you can do a full roll and land level all the time, everytime. That is your starting rate.

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  Рік тому +1

      Hey brooo! Thats well put! Kinda forgot that was the way to do it in the starting days. And i used that to tune for LOS acro too. Thanks for the reminder. Kinda thinking of redoing this episode for DIY drone "trictionary" and this tip would be great to start anyone off in finding their own rates. Appreciate this. Quick question... The clips of you flying have sound, prop noise. Is that audio coming from the mic on the drone, or the mic of your cam that you had on the sticks.
    I ask cuz i cant find any info on wether the drone records audio or not. In the teardown videos, it has a mic.

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  Рік тому +1

      You're most welcome. Flying from inside a car yes, but when its raining....I DONT DARE ANSWER. Lol! Thats because, the DJI FPV and like many of DJI's drones DO HAVE conformal coating which would protect its electronics from general water contact. That means if you suddenly experience rain, you could probably have enough time to react and land it. But if you wanted to purposely fly in the rain, then i suggest doing a DIY conformal coating (not that i've done it), before such an experiment.

      I started in FPV in 2017 having to do e following:
      Download Sim on computer
      Build and tune a drone
      Setup a transmitter
      Figure out goggle fittings
      Troubleshoot setup AND MORE
      Exciting stuff. And u will learn ALOT. Some through hard times. And v crashable DIY drone too. Jus rebuild if anithings broken.
      But not e DJI FPV. Its a all-in-one (more expensive) package. Even Sim is a phone app that u can link to e goggles. Many modes to have safe flights, down to Manual/Acro where u will be in e pilots hot seat.
      Final say, I love both. But ill TRY to keep e DJI for cinematic stuff, and will be building one for e harder stuff. So it really depends on your wants.
      Side note, both kinda cost e same in e end

      That is true actually. In every drone/ automated machines/ camera gimbals etc, there will be PIDs. Not to be confused with rates. Rates we can set as what we prefer our controls to react on the drone. But PIDs are what the drone uses internally to stabilise itself. This we cannot tune. Only a DJI programmer will have access to this.

    Dear Rahim thanks for your video, just a question how to control the speed on the manual mode , thanks again bro

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  3 роки тому

      I mention in this video that camera angle in M mode controls speed:
      ua-cam.com/video/sv7YbBTdgVI/v-deo.html
      In M mode u will need to combine pitching the drone forward and throttle too keep it flying. Basically, the higher e camera angle, the faster your speed forward. In M mode, the camera locks in place at whatever angle u set it. So if u set at an angle of 30deg, u will be facing sky. Push on e right stick to pitch the drone forward to see where u are going, combine with throttle to fly straight and keep the drone flying. Watch the link above to see the whole process. If u have a simulator, can try it there. Happy flying!

      You need to first setup Manual Mode. Then if in air, u flip switch into Manual mode, it will not go into Manual mode yet. Manual Mode Safety lock. When u flip switch into Manual mode, follow instruction in goggle, you need to position the LEFT STICK down just abit into "GREEN ZONE" shown in the goggle. @TheReelRahim  3 роки тому

      Hmmm... ok lets take it a step at a time.
      Manual Activation Checklist:
      1) in controls settings, Button Customization, assign M Switch as Custom Mode/ Manual
      2) still in control settings, go to Gain and Expo, and switch OFF M Mode Attitude limit (u may keep this ON as Manual Mode training wheels, so e drone cannot flip yet but still in Manual)
      3) GO FLY. Start in Normal or Sport, find a safe spot to hover amd that will be starting point. Flip switch to M Mode. Drone WILL NOT go to Manual just yet. In the goggles, you will be required to MOVE AND HOLD the LEFT stick into e green zone, and after about 2 secs, it will tell u that Manual Mode is unlocked. Pitch forward abit, control e throttle, and u should be good.
      Sorry if this sounds like a repeat, but just wanted to be clear that these steps were followed. If it still cant fly in Manual, there may be bigger problem and u may want DJI to have a look.

      Aww man, THIS IS GONNA SUCK! Because I was on the same journey😅. I stopped FPV because I had a drone case going on. Went on for about more than a year. But when the DJI FPV came out, IT WAS FUGLY....but it had all my dreams of a digital drone, with video stabilisation, pro camera settings and GPS return home, all in a package that included a simple controller and the new (at the time) FPV goggles V2. Just had to get it, and NO REGRETS. It was dizzying at first coz I had not worn goggles for awhile. But with time grinding and acro in the skies, it was well worth it and loved the skies again. If you were from DIY FPV, then you be too familiar with the constant crashing and bench time. The DJI FPV does a POOR JOB of recovering from a crash, and so take it easy up there in the skies and just SOAR. Hope you journey would be as beautiful getting back to the skies. Fly safe!
