I use a pulse mig but at that thickness you need to move the torch relatively fast and hold it as close as possible for spotwelds also weld from the back forwards as even up the guts from side to side and let it cool if it gets too heat sync, I'm building a new hull atm and I'm running 1mm on the delta and .9 from there up
