Flora-Bama Artist Spotlight on Preston Stanfill

- Preston Stanfill is a drummer at the world-famous Flora-Bama.
He has played with Jack Robertson in his band, "Big Earl and the Sexual Biscuits" for around seven years. Their group plays on most Friday and Saturday nights in "The Dome" at the Bama and they have a massive following with loyal fans.
Preston is also known to play with other musicians at the Bama. He is one of the best drummers in the area and comes highly recommended. Not only does he have an awesome personality, but he is a highly-skilled, talented and experienced drummer.
Preston is from Missouri and his story to get to where he is today, in south Alabama, is incredible. His love for people and his relationships has done a lot for him and those around him.
First off know that Preston is not one for the spotlight. As a drummer, he is usually towards the back of the stage and he's content there. He is polite, loyal and encouraging to others. Even throughout this interview, he can't help but thank Jack for all he has done for him. His gratitude is encouraging and a positive reflection of his character. In this video, Jack brings Preston front and center to talk about his career, passions and celebrity relationships in the music industry.
Preston has done a lot of great things his career thus far, but one of the most recognizable things he has done is bring together two of the three band members of the well-known country music group Rascal Flatts. He introduced them over twenty years ago and just this year the group announced their "Farewell Tour." Rascal Flatts has sold more than 23 million albums and is the most awarded country group of the last decade.
The band is comprised of Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney. Preston has kept a great relationship with the group over the years. He was even the best man at Joe Don's wedding!
Before Rascal Flatts became a household name, Preston played drums for country music star, Chely Wright. He played for her for almost twenty years. It was under Chely's leadership that he got to play the Grand Ole Opry for the first time. Preston went on to play the Opry more than 70 times. He even played with Trace Adkins for about three months.
