    I’m a Blues fan big time but I really love the players they acknowledge each other for their time during footy.
    That what makes footy interesting, enemy in the field for 80 minutes but have a beer after and praise each other.
    Amazing 👍👍

    As an avid sports fan, but a Victorian, it was incredible watching Andrew Johns play.
    He was awe inspiring as he was just so obviously so much better than everyone else. It really stuck out to someone who didn’t grow up watching rugby league. Just on another level. You appreciate it when you’re watching greatness.

      He shouldn't. They have poor international records. The worst in over 60 years. Proving they just beat bad NSW sides. Past champions won everything around the world and were part of NSW winning 21 years in a row.

      I think it was more "would have loved to have played n kicked their asses"
      Joey also praises blues players he played with.
      There is something to be said for picking n staying.. then swappin n changing.
      How many players go through trying to find a "good team" instead of pickin n stickin n letting things build.

      @@boganbob2708 I have to ask why do people like yourself bring up this 21 year wins in a row like it's some amazing NSW record ? I'm only asking because I can't find it in the origin records...also I heard someone say that a lot of the players in this NSW winning streak were actually from QLD. I can't tell if this record is true or not because I can't find it but you seem to be sure so can you send a link that provides this info. Also a link that can say where the players were from that played in this NSW winning streak... sorry but I have to know for sure because if half the players are from QLD you can't really call it a NSW record.

    • @boganbob2708
      @boganbob2708 2 роки тому

      @@jackthedrought342 The record is true and in the history books. Rugby league didn't start in the 80s with SOO and a rebranding for a TV audience. Or the advent of the NRL for cable tv.
      Professional rugby league and rep footy has been played since 1908 in Australia. NSW had 1or2 imported players back then during their record. But Qld always had more imports, just as they still do today. Some modern QLD SOO sides have had over 8 imports in a single side. Even when they were successful. Past and current NSW sides never had anything like this. Trying to use imported players argument to invalidate past success of teams only delegitimizes modern records more.

      Never forget for 40 minutes Australia fielded a spine of
      1. Lockyer
      6. Thurston
      7. Johns
      9. Buderus.
      In Johns’s last test match after Karmichael hunt got knocked into a heavy coke problem. I mean concussion.

  • @Giveme1goodreason
    @Giveme1goodreason 2 роки тому +62

    I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, every single legend of origin except maybe Lewis, got schooled hard by another legend. In 1987 Alfie langer debuts, has a blinder and 10 seconds from full time Peter sterling redirects play down the blindside and the blues go in for a match winning try.
    Game 1 1998 Andrew johns and Allan langer square off for the 1st time as opposing halfbacks. Alfie scores a try lays on another 2 has 1 forced drop out and generally dominates johns, Fittler and Daley. Game 2 2005 Andrew johns comes back from injury. Savagely and ruthlessly destroys Lockyer, smith, Thurston. The fact is every great got smacked and every great learned that an origin is 80 minutes, not 79:58 and they all learned that getting on top is hard, staying there requires a ruthlessness that few have ever shown.

I have him behind langer and sterling as a halfback but I have him ahead of them as best ever based on the fact he’s top 3 dummy half’s I ever saw. So for me
      Greatest halfbacks is
      1. Allan Langer
      2. Peter Sterling.
      3. Andrew Johns
      4. Jonathan Thurston.
      5. Stacey Jones.

      3. Andrew Johns

      5. Danny Buderus.
      Greatest players I’ve seen
      1. Darren lockyer
      2. Andrew Johns
      3. Wally Lewis
      4. Allan Langer
