I found myself coming back to this video of your build on this kit, yesterday, I ordered this kit. I am so excited to build it, thanks to you. I hope I can achieve close to the results you have. Thank you for all that you have taught me over the last year. I tell you my friend, I have learned so very much from you and will never forget your generosity in sharing the techniques you use with such wonderful success! Thanks
You are the best modeler I have ever seen. Thanks for another great upload. I always take mental notes on the techniques you use to try them for myself.
David, that is the most beautiful air show demo team aircraft build I have ever seen anywhere! Thanks for answering my question on which thinner to use with Super Clear III. I saw so many technique learning oppertunities in this video I will be watching it many times and taking notes. The different wash colors to make the rivets come to life as well as the panel lines in the black color surfaces. Just a tremendous amount of wonderful lessons in this one. You always find a way to continue to amaze me my friend. Thanks so much!!!
Having built this model, While I do Applaude you painting the white and yellow detail, I just have to say, for other modelers who are not as brave, that the Decals for this kit are AWESOME! they just go on like silk. Only problem I had was the yellow decals by the air intakes, thats abit complicated. Great job!
also, a tip, If you don't have polishing compound, for the canopy's that have that line on it ( Hasegawa is famous for it) sand it down, then grab a cup, and fill it with gloss varnish ( Future works quite well) and dip it in, and hang it, and let it dry
Hi again David, I just received my Academy 1:48 Black Eagles kit in the mail which I bought after seeing the beautiful build you did on yours! Thanks for showing me this kit, as it is truly well done. The design and detail are simply amazing! Thanks again my friend!
Great Video, I've really enjoyed watching your builds. I really like the fact that you show your mistakes and how you correct them. A tip for painting the cockpit panels. Lay down your base coat, then paint the control panels in white. Add a layer of hair spray, then paint over with your black. Now all you need to do is use a toothpick to scratch off the black paint on each of the buttons, and you're left with the white showing. It also makes cleaning up the black paint a little easier if you're not perfect with it. Can't wait to see what you build next.
David you create excellent modelling tutorials. Kudos to all your effort!! You just keep inspiring all of us and sharing your precious knowledge with ease. Keep it up my friend.
David; outstanding job on the model mate, it looks incredible. The Rokaf 50 was a great choice, cool looking aircraft and that paint scheme is one of the most interesting I've seen in years. The finish you did on it just looks perfect, not overdone, not underdone. Well done!
Hi David, a tip that I find is usefull, after putting down the masking tape, I take a rag dipped in future ( or any acrylic gloss) and just wipe over the masking tape, I find that this helps in sealing against paint leaking under the masking tape.. most of the time anyways! Great build here! I used the decals when I built this ( which were great by the way.. went down like silk)
Man, I really appreciate the effort you put into making these videos in English. Not to mention the obvious work that goes into both video and model. Many thanks!!!
I cannot believe how shiny this one is. Another great video. The tips in this one were excellent. Really appreciated seeing how you fixed the paint getting under the tape. I hope you're getting compensated for all this. I'm fairly certain museums, movie sets, and even architectural/industrial design firms would pay good money for these skills. Even custom auto-paint work, if you're into it, would likely put some serious money in your pocket here in the US!
Fantastic and great techniques! Really brave to make spray masks from the decals and also the touch-up of the white edges, nice work. Impressive gloss finish, that thing looks like a mirror dipped in liquid glass!
Hello David, what great work you do, inspirational. My heart sank a little when you had a masking bleed. I generally spray a light clear coat over the mask before spraying. The clear bleeds a little under the tape and acts as a block when you spray the colour. Great recovery anyway.
WOW David, this is just amazing. What a fantastic job. Great masking to and excellent detail in the cockpit. Tha absolute original in miniture. Well done.
Fantastic approach. I had so much trouble with the larger decals on one side it was unreal. Most were OK, just the large white ones and fitting them perfectly. Great video!
Just a suggestion. Sense we know paint can bleed under most tapes I'v found spraying several very lite coats where the surface doesn't get wet the paint doesn't bleed under the tape. And I also use electrical tape. Works great. Always a terrific build, great video.
Great job on that surface finish. Hard to believe it’s plastic! Well done. Strange jet though. Has a bit of F-14 in the nose and canopy, F/A-18 along the leading edge above the intakes then F-16 from the wing trailing edge back.
Dude, you're an artist, I'm glad I found your channel and yes I did subscribe so please keep up the AWESOME work and I'll keep coming back for more and sharing your video's with as many people as I possibly can.
Your videos are always a real pleasure . Thanks you for these moments. I am (an old) modeler too and extremely admirative; your technics are perfect, you are patient ('i am not). What an exemple of a beautiful work. Thx sir. (Apologize about my english... i am french and school is far now.

Muitos parabéns, mais uma vez um excelente trabalho e uma fonte de inspiração. obrigado Congratulations once again a great job and a source of inspiration. thank you
This is seriously impressive! I have two of these, a black Eagle and a ROKAF trainer version. If they turn out half as nice as this, I'll be very happy! Not sure I dare paint the markings on this version, but after watching this, I may have to try.
I love going back to these old videos to see how much progress he's made in his model building techniques.

It reminded me to spyro's music
It gives me depression

Beautiful job, awesome jetfighter
Stunning example of how bits of plastic can come together and resemble an awsome representation of the real aircraft. nice one Dave

Sorry late with the message :). I just got this kit. Did you find the white decals were white enough over the black paint?

Great build -shiney ! What a lovely aircraft looks a little like F16 but without the (ugly.) air intake , IMHO. Wales UK

I have no words...A piece of art.
Art.....pure art.....simply as that.....
You really are a master craftsman when it comes to making these - thanks for sharing your techniques, I've learned so much from watching.
Love the idea about using the Tamiya sheet to make decal masks. Did not even know there was such a thing so thanks for the heads up...;)

absolutely beautiful build, what an amazing model. Thanks for sharing your technique.
That shine makes it look nice and crisp, looks like a professional paint job! (Oh wait, you are a professional!).
I am not a professional. I do it just in my free time.
How long did it take you from start to finish for this model? You seem very talented.

Excelente trabajo!! 👏👏👏👏👏👍👍
It's amazing your hand
29 haters must have gotten shot down by a Rokaf-50B. 😉
+Ron Klaiss Ah, they're just fans of MiGs and knock-off Chinese fighters...
The T-50 itself is basically an F-16 derivative airframe powered by an F-18 (F404) turbofan.
+AvengerII surely they are still better than Chinese American/Russian Knock offs
AvengerII NO SHIT
