It looks like a lot of fun. And I like that 400s are getting some love, it seems that more people are all about the 450s, but the 400s are the best bang for the buck, less maintenance, and they seem to last a lot longer too.
You should do the best of a budget built mx style. Then put it against some new fully built mx quad on a track with lap times and full on comparisons with HP ratings and all. Love all the content and would love to see a 660 raptor build!!!
@@MichaelSabo that's awesome, you are definitely one of the most under rated channels I've seen on UA-cam. Keep up that awesome work and you will go far with this!!!

When I was a teenager I had a 04 trx 400ex and it was a blast. I sold it to get my first car and ever since I’ve been looking for another one. This past weekend I finally found one just like this a yellow 02 trx 400ex and man it’s just as much fun at 32 years old as it was when I was 14. I’ve owned a few different sports quads and they just ain’t 400ex. definitely one of the best quads ever made.
My Dad has had the same "Professional Mechanics Creeper" in his shop for as long as I can remember. I've never seen another one until I started watching your videos haha Keep up the nice content Michael!
Another thing u could do is put the 416 In the yellow one after the series is done, and if that red one has the 440, u could do a series of 416 vs 440 both piped ported timed correctly for some extra ponies Nd see which does better in different circumstances. Racing. Track. Hill climb. Stop dead in thick mudhole and see which has more torque to get u out. Etc. So many different things u could do. Great content and that intro had me dyin bro!!!
The yellow 400 will be a perfect woods quad with the the work you did. Maybe take some of the high end parts off the $500 400 and put them on the yellow EX. I'm Curious how the lectron carb would be..I'll be watching👍
I was waiting for my dogs to get done at the groomers and watching this video on my phone. I only had two bars for reception and man was it choppy trying to get through it but still worth it!
Great deal on this quad! I recently started enjoying your videos, been adding things and getting my old 400 in better riding condition and a lot of your builds are inspiring. Keep up the good work bro!
Love these videos, helps me out big time when I comes to my 400ex I just bought a 03 and a 06 in a package deal and need to rebuild the the 06 and these videos help out more then anything
Friendly advice. When torquing bolts use the shortest extension possible. Or none. I try to even use shallow sockets when i can rather than deepwells. The 10 inch extension effected your torque spec for sure. But its a stock bore 400ex so it will still run forever reguardless. But other way more tempermental quads this could give you issues.
I have that same One Industries graphics kit on my 2000 400ex! Owned mine since new and still looks showroom new as well. If you decide to ditch the seat cover and it has no rips or cracks I might be interested as a spare. Great to see a build series on the 400ex like this.
leave this 400 as is, great budget machine, make that red one into a high performance build, got a great skeleton and sweet parts already there, take advantage!

I love that he’s worried about those gaskets when I’ve had to make my own outta a cardboard box funny thing is that has lasted longer then any gasket I bought as long as it’s not on a area that gets too hot
Dang I got a similar deal on a 400ex for 2000. It has the same suspension and extend a arms and everything with a big bore with a white brothers exhaust. It also came with some sand tires witch was nice. All I did to it was get some new ball joints, chain and sprocket, and replaced the gaskets on the top end and know its in perfect condition
I need to replace the clutch on my warrior but for one can't afford it right now and for two I'm kinda worried I'll screw it up some how. You just rip into it no worries. Kinda envy that!
You can handle it man; clutch is not a bad job; if you can get your hands on a service manual or download a PDF, just take your time and you can do it. Also, I would at the minimum, get a Tusk clutch or another name brand; the eBay clutches tend to be a problem.
