Anyone who ever dug through the back of a van full of tools and stock and materials with a bit of rubbish from the previous job, looking for that one thing you rarely use but need right now. Will immediately see how epic this setup is. :) I watch vehicle conversion vids and workshop vids all the time, surprised it took youtube this long to put this on my recommended list. Thanks for sharing.
Very cool! Took Im sure a good amount of planning to get all that in there so perfectly...and all the eletrical and air hoses fed thru there...great job!
Not to shabby .I am about to gut my 18 foot cargo and turn it into a ron Paulk special.. thanks for the ideas. I will be making the first 5 feet a kitchen slash clean station ... coffee machine .. flat screen. You really maximized your space!!
Nice set up man ! I own a savana too but i rarely work close to my van, always have to carry my tools upstairs or away from the parking space and if you have to park on the street ! You're done !
THERE'S AN OUTFIT IN BOISE CALLED EXTENDO BED,,,I BOUGHT MY FIRST ONE IN 95,,{ HAVE 3}STILL USE IT EVERYDAY,,,,YOU CAN BUILD ANYTHING YOU WANT ON IT WEIGHT LIMIT 1200 LBS.,,,,,I'VE TRIED MANY TIMES,BUT NEVER CAME CLOSE TO THIS GUY'S ORGANIZATION,,,GOOD JOB...
Nice set up!All the convience of a utility body with the security of the van.I always hated trying to climb in the back of a van with your tool belt on getting caught on everything! This eliminates that problem.
Awesome. As a home remodeled/rental manager myself. ,I know how much time u save from knowing where every thing is at. I must say the high vans would be good also, like the Fords. I had a Mercedes Sprinter van which was a lemon and insane mechanical costs. . But awesome job on lay out.
Great setup 👍 Im currently building a new setup for my van, fist time im trying to construct that type of setup, but it's nice to see a lot of different setups for inspiration 👍
Love your set up, I don't do as much anymore, but you just gave me a great idea, just maybe I can do a smaller version too and old 1996 Ford Taurus I am thinking of getting rid off. so let see. Thank you for the vid.
Zachary thanks for sharing.. Looks great and am sure each time you build a new one it will be better the the last. That is if there are more since it sounds like you are getting ready to bail on slide outs I/we did Van Conversions, Truck and Car Modifications since 1974 and did our share of custom work trucks and like what you did with this.. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next. BOZ @ The Van House of Louisville, Kentucky Custom Automotive
Nice set up I am looking for Ideas to carry tools this is the one of the better ones. I would call the time spent on this a very sound investment to save valuable commercial hours every day on the job.
I am a punch out and finish carpenter into a little masonry too. So, I give you a true high 5 on that set up. I envy your organizational skills, for sure. Your clients confidence must boom when they see that.
Nice concept. I have to huge 8 foot drawers . Biggest drag is rain and snow, after left open for a few mins . Rusts the crap out of your bits and small stuff. Looks like a great set up. Just not weather proof like mine.
Nice work Zach, these smaller vans are widely used in the UK due to the smaller roads etc. Many UK trademen would benefit from adopting your system. All you need is a rain cover to cope with the wet weather we get here. Pleased to see you are using FastCap products!
That is truly amazing! What a great piece of work!! You can use this same concept for a slide out bedroom with tent attachment for a camper, or drawers under bed, etc. Great glides! My question is: How did you figure out your tool arrangement? Each tool has a custom fit cabinet space. How did you figure out the tool layout? Tip for you: Use Velcro attachements on top section and roll down shade cloth or cloth or plastic shower curtain, etc to keep the dust out of your tool cabinets. When you saw wood, that dust gets into your tools and cubby holes.
This thing is off the hook yo 🤟 those other utility trailer builds are cool but some of them have a lot of wasted space This one is straight-up assessable all the way around inside and out upside down You've got it going on! (user-friendly) And to boot you don't have to back up hitch on/check trailer lights Etc. plus it's not a Target it's just a stylish vehicle parked in the drive (did I cover all the bases 😋
Do you have a electric inverter with deep cycle batteries. Do you trickle charge it every night.. An additional connected with the car battery. On the next job site...
Dude...that's very awesome. I'm not a carpenter by trade, I've done it, but I have a mobile paint and body setup. I'm currently setting up a new trailer. Since I am a woodworking hobbyist I have most of the tools to build this stuff. That's what I'm doing now. Any way, on my next project maybe I could pay you to layout my next trailer. ;)
VERY Impressive. Still using it? How's it holding up. I would 100% add a leg to support the end when it's out. Eventually that stress will almost certainly be a problem. Thanks for sharing your work. Again very impressive.
Organizing your work and making your own rig to suit your needs is good and when you get new equipment you need to facilitate that. What happens you have all these tools how do you carry it to your work area? Maybe you need some festool sustainers t loc to carry to the work place with a trolley. Well done nice ingenuity. check out the festool vans as they have all their tools strapped in in case of a crash situation less injury from tool flying every and to driver.
That is a very very organized work program. Unfortunately if I use that where I live if I went into the house and was gone for 15 minutes I would come back and every compartment would be empty.
Thank you for the comment. I have already upgraded the suspension on the van but some sagging is unavoidable due to the weight of the box when cantilevered out of the van. The track is rated at 2500 pounds which is much more than the box weighs so I think it should be sufficient but I will probably switch to a trailer or box truck before the track has a chance to wear out. I do have the rollout support to take weight off the van when working at the box for an extended period of time.
Zack Dettmore i'm wondering what a couple of two by fours mounted on something like saloon door hinges would do for an end support that would drop down from gravity when pulled out, and fold up when closing from contacting the bumper. Like the legs and wheels of a gurney in a ambulance ...
Zack Dettmore have you considered air lift suspension assist sir shucks? You can lower them to 5 psi or pump them up to 100 psi, my f150 towed my wires car on trailer had 0 sag very effective, you can also add on board air compressor regulator whole kit on amazon for 600
i just bought a Nv2500 and i want to do a camper convert but i also want to if i need it use the vans cargo space for work if need be. I want to build a Camper Conversion that slides in and out of the van when need be. could you tell me what you used to slide something that heavy?
How much does it all weigh? how much is the slide supporting? im considering doing this to make it easy to load and unload a mini motorcycle in the back of my van.
Neat, but needs a few things. Could use some supports at the end of the box to support it, and take the weight off of the sliding frame. Otherwise, that will wear out pretty fast with that much weigh hanging off the back. Also, your rear suspension is already sagging. so an upgrade there wouldn't hurt. Van suspensions aren't meant to haul a constant load around, and wear out fast (just like the late 80's to late 90's SUV sag problem).
Folding legs with rollers (like a ambulance stretcher) on it would have been better so you could remove it on the job site so you could use the van to go get lumber or drywall. Other then that it looks great.
as stated earlier some drop down legs would be ideal and i strongly reccomend looking into a 3500 series van. 1 for weight issues and #2 security. far too much glass for all that $$$ stored inside. great build
I agree with the 3500 series van completely and the glass too. I don't have drop down legs on the thing because I had them for the first week or so of using it and we would never use them. The box is mostly used for accessing tools and then it is get push back into the van. Sadly I my tool collection has overwhelmed this box so it will be retired at the end of the the year.
wow now thats a good idea! i just finished outfitting my van and i feel like i made a mistake after watching your video. how did you make the slide system? thats alot of weight to support!

Now, THIS is one impressive rolling workshop. Hats off!
How much would you charge to make me one for a 2005 Chevrolet Express 3500 Van?
I am looking to build this. What did you make the sliding mechanism out of?
Holy Shit !! That's freaking Awesome !! I would drive around just to show it off !
WOW now that set up you have made is way kool. well done and done professionally. Great job.
Thank you for the inspiration.
We built our own slide out for our cargo van. 👊🏻💥
That’s stinking incredible bro, love it!!! Excellent job!
Brilliant! Best design I've seen. Gonna copy you in my minivan.
Very cool! Took Im sure a good amount of planning to get all that in there so perfectly...and all the eletrical and air hoses fed thru there...great job!
Awesome !Organization is the key to this biz!
Not to shabby .I am about to gut my 18 foot cargo and turn it into a ron Paulk special.. thanks for the ideas. I will be making the first 5 feet a kitchen slash clean station ... coffee machine .. flat screen. You really maximized your space!!
I wish I'd built something like this for my (passed) dad's old electrical contractors van! :(
That's super impressive!
Nice set up man ! I own a savana too but i rarely work close to my van, always have to carry my tools upstairs or away from the parking space and if you have to park on the street ! You're done !
OMG. I wish I have the time to do that kind of project for my van. Good job dude. :)
Nice concept, but what do you do when it rains?
Brilliant idea my friend good job

Excellent job, well done
The only thing needs some paint after you completed.
Keep up amazing work.
Nice set up!All the convience of a utility body with the security of the van.I always hated trying to climb in the back of a van with your tool belt on getting caught on everything! This eliminates that problem.
this is...amazing! I'm speechless

Damn bro, your van takes the award. Nice set up

Very well done and tidy
awesome. Is it removeable for when you need to haul sheet materials?
Just gave me some good ideas for my small shop, thanks.
Now this is awesome. Can you share how you fastened to the floor and what you used?
wow very nice tools setup

Great set up trying to build something like this for my work Van's, what's the weight capacity for your slide system?
Very kool. Keeps everything organized
Nice work! I like the organization. What did you use as the slider on the bottom?
Do you have a electric inverter with deep cycle batteries.
Do you trickle charge it every night..
An additional connected with the car battery. On the next job site...
Hi I I really like you set up man
Would you please tell where di you but the slider for the rolling out?
Well done man. Awesome
Nice bit of kit mate!!

Very well thought out thanks for sharing

great job and ideas. been looking for something for awhile in my astro. may do a rear and side pullout for shorter distance overall.

Bro I’m in love!
That is super awaome man! Bet it sucks when u dont get a good parking spot on the job:)
also when is raining
I was thinking if someone double parks behind you.
Really nice set up. Do you use anything to support it when it's out of the truck. Seems like when it's hanging off the truck there's a lot of weight
very intelligent way to have your van organized, is there a way to get plans so I can build one for my van.....I'll appreciate it if you can help me.
Park ur van in the living room and roll out the drawer!! Win/win!!
This is awesome! Where do you put material needed for plojects this looks to take of all the space?

Name of the bracket system thanks looks great
God damn! I'm impressed.
You did a great on this !

Hello witch railing system did you use thanks. Awesome
What do you do on rainy days
Do you have any plans for that drawer/box build?
What if it's rainning/snowing day or days ?
You have to preppare some folding roof or sth.
Is there a brand for these telescopic rails? Or something of the equivalent length and weight rating
i just bought a Nv2500 and i want to do a camper convert but i also want to if i need it use the vans cargo space for work if need be. I want to build a Camper Conversion that slides in and out of the van when need be. could you tell me what you used to slide something that heavy?
Very nice . But here in the UK you would get wet as it rains a lot
Awesome!!!!!!!!!! What kind of roller mechanism did you install in order to hold all that much weight?
Do you find it tough to transport material to jobsites with such a large space dedicated to organization of your stuff?
You need a bigger van. Were do you put you materials for jobs.
Quite impressive! did you fabricate your own slides? mind sharing where to buy them?
Thanks.
did you find out?
How much does it all weigh? how much is the slide supporting? im considering doing this to make it easy to load and unload a mini motorcycle in the back of my van.
Is this still in service? I’m guessing the truck or the slide went thru some trials.
Do you have the plans ??
that a great set up bro
Tool truck designs should all get 👍🤣
good idea for me old man. his van is such a devastor zone
What do you do on the hills?
Impressive indeed, thanks for sharing

Me a d and d player: “Ah yes yes. More modifications for my character’s oldsmobile custom cruiser.”
What do you do when it rains ?
A thing of beauty
What did you use for the slide out?
How do you manage when parallel parked?
Very well done
Nice ToolBox Build... Only downside.. there doesn't seem room for carrying significant cargo.
where did you get the sliding rails?
I like the idea, Where can I get the main sliders?
Very tool layout. 👍🏼
How long did it take you to build it
What kind of slide out is that? Did you build it yourself? I need to make one for myself
as stated earlier some drop down legs would be ideal and i strongly reccomend looking into a 3500 series van. 1 for weight issues and #2 security. far too much glass for all that $$$ stored inside. great build

Ok I want one of these the day I open up my mobile mechanic shop
Excellent 💯👍 what do you do when parked at an angle?
very cool video. your truck is intresting💪
Great rig
wow now thats a good idea! i just finished outfitting my van and i feel like i made a mistake after watching your video. how did you make the slide system? thats alot of weight to support!
