- Heeey, Internetians! UAD just released their beta version of Luna for Windows and... it's bad. Like really, really bad. I know, it's a beta, but still - it's impossible to test out its functions, at least on my main studio machine. Enjoy anyway!

Heeey, people! I know that Luna is beta, but still - do you think releasing any DAW that buggy should took a place at all? Lemme know down below!
I’m having to do a deep dive in Luna’s file structuring to find the log files of my crashes to send them in for feedback another bad move on UAD’s part , a 1 level deep folder names crash log if you really want to move quickly out of beta and fix your problems
I cant even get passed the scanning ...it stops working...most say its because of the vst2 plugins installed...all mine are vst3 and luna doesnt read or see vst3 yet...I gave up on this for now..I'll wait until they figure it out.
I didn't experience these things when i tried it, but first time i tried to add a random plugin Luna did shut down completely.. I felt that there was some latency with some vst instruments such as Modo drums. It feels a little like you're walking on a glass roof, you're not sure if it's gonna break.
@@mikecess1425 Im gonna try moving all vst/vsti folders, to see if it will open..i havent had any luck so far ..my Luna experience is about 2 seconds long then it shuts off during the scan.
If you pay attention to the lower left corner of his screen you will see that his settings are the issue. His PC doesn't have enough power to operate the software. 48khzs sample rate, excessive latency rate along with a generic ASIO sound card will cause every issue he's complained about. I have Apollo hardware so it works flawlessly for me and has from the start. It's an unfair review.

I'm glad I watched a couple of videos before downloading this DAW. Maybe later it'll be better. Thanks for the heads-up. 👍
i tried to download some demos a few weeks ago and even that process didn't work
Ehrrrr... two days using Luna for Windows and no problems here. I only testing very simple things, its true, but good behavior. Three guitar tracks, one bass track, drum track with ezdrummer 3. A UAD APOLLO TWIN USB, a PCI UAD Octocore. Kemper stage to UAD Apollo Twin, Neve 1073 in unison preamp, neve 1081 EQ, UA 176 and API 2500 in inserts of UAD APOLLO. All working fine.
I was literally in the middle of installing and saw you vid and stopped the process. Shessh! Appreciate the vid fam. Didnt know it was in BETA!
Really.. it looks like it's more in the early alpha dev stage. It probably needs more bug fixes to get it into the beta stage.

Overall it works well on my PC, my computer is optimized for the midi audio protocol. From bios to graphic card. i7 14700kf, 4080 super, 32gb DDR 5 6000, M2 1tb is where I installed it. Sometimes Shape brakes and it losts the sound for no reason.
As always, thanks for your honest opinion - sorry to hear that you ran into these problems. After initial set up problems (it did not like ASIO4ALL), it works pretty great on my machine. AMD Ryzen / APOLLO Twin USB.
My problem was getting hung up on plugins. Got that solved. Works great.

Only thing I don like is midi editor
I cannot drag it to my 3rd screen which I like to do
And graphics for midi editor / piano roll don’t like it

for me it runs very very well. it has other issues like no multi out for instruments. I think I will work in Cubase and mix in Luna
Works pretty okay on my end. I've even done a full mix. 131 tracks, minus busses and main track. Just a few visual bugs here and there. Like opening the preferences and switching between tabs there.

I got the same experience this creator got, after installing it today. I ended up uninstalling like 10 minutes later because I got so many crashes to desktop in this software. Loading a Demo Project should not crash a DAW. Creating a new project should not Crash a DAW. Too many crashes, and I have never received an actual error message telling me why it was crashes. The application just disappears I'm not gonna bother with it.
I have to agree with the creator. I have never run a "Beta" build of a software application that was this unusable. It's literally unusable, to the point that no one can even really "test" it properly to give feedback. It crashes and burns all the time, and doesn't even give the user a hint regarding why it's happening.
I'm not in the market for a new DAW, but always interested in what's going on with others. This is unfortunate. Yes, beta, but seems like their QA team weren't involved at all or were on holiday.

Hmm..sorry to hear you had problems. For me It's been a great experience. I have an IK AXE I/O interface (pretty basic I know) and I have had no issues. I also hooked it up to my SSL UF8, UC1 and UF1 with no issues. And the program seems pretty resiliant so far. And I love the interface and the concpet of console. Hope it gets better in the future for you or anyone else. As a ProTools guy I am looking forward to getting rid of the subscription. Fingers Crossed
Just out of curiosity, what are your computer’s specs? ie: CPU, number of cores, amount of RAM. I tried it on a laptop I have. It’s an i7 with only 4 core and 16 gb ram. The RENDER and RENDERIO stats were blowing out my computer. It was clicking, popping and dropping audio.

it loaded once, but after I tried to set up my audio interface it doesn't load anymore, released too early it seems

Oldest story in the books. The software devs tell management "This isnt ready yet, we need another 3 months" , management tells devs "Doesnt matter, we are releasing now", then it comes out an absolute disaster, aaaaand then the devs get blamed despite the devs desparately trying to convince management that it wasnt time to release
The trouble is LUNA is not made for those with 20k$ value stuff. You have to put in stuff slowly. You have to use less stuff. You have to use lower quality stuff, and it will work. Use less plugins, take it off, try reloading it, or another LUNA. They ill get this later, and I still want it for other reasons.
A new update just came out today that seemed to have fixed the lag.
Good heavens! So THIS is a BETA testing nightmare in process. I'm glad I didn't download it, thank you for 'suffering for us' trying to review it and thus saving a lot of us time and frustration. I had weird feelings regarding the start-up GUI and workflow GUI: they appeared to be hybrids of Cakewalk, Waveform and Logic. But the incredibly huge amount of crashes, glitches puts paid to this one for a long time I think. 😵💫I hope UA will work on getting these serious problems fixed ASAP - but personally I sure am sticking to Reaper.
My experience hasn't been this buggy at all. I'm not getting crashes or any of that yet, and I'm on a 2017 computer too (Asus UX-V550VE). The issues I'm running into are
1) it's such a battery hog! But also, my laptop's battery sucks ass.
2) the initial splash screen hangs up on loading expired iLok demo plugins, and that was fixed yesterday with the new update.
3) It wont allow playback without an interface plugged in, which is my biggest gripe with it right now.
4) when importing .AAF projects, the MIDI information and project tempo doesn't port with it. I'm not sure if that's actually a bug or if that's just how .AAF works, so I'm not going to fault UA for that right now.
Other than that, I'm really enjoying it. It's a public beta, so everyone needs to remember that. And by the looks of it, UA is definitely paying attention and is working to fix the issues very quickly. Because of this, I know I'll be buying the Pro version. I consider it to be like the dream version of Cakewalk Bandlab. It's very similar, but laid out more professionally, so I have a high hopes for the future of it. Finally, a DAW that doesn't make me miss Logic.

I too use an ASUS laptop - thus keeping it connected to an outlet seems a must here. And reading your words 'Finally, a DAW that doesn't make me miss Logic' - now THAT is something to consider! 🎼
Works fine with my windows 10 pro PC.
I've used it a little on Mac, and it seems much more stable even on not so new hardware. I hope they get their stuff together for the Windows version...

Even if I manage to get it running, Internal mixdown or freeze tracks at 1024 buffer size crashes the DAW and all I can do is restart the Computer
frustrating, but rather surprising why the UA would release the Program in this catastrophic state.
By the way, the same problem appears on 3 different computers running Windows 10 Pro 64 bit that I currently own.
Studio one , reaper Cubase, even the old Samplitude doesn't have these weird issues. I hope they fix this at some point.

I tried various ASIO drivers, but only found that KoordASIO, which is available from the Microsoft Store, functioned adequately. Hopefully this helps people.
Also worth noting that the demo tune that is included in Luna DAW has an effect on the drums that makes it sound like the sound is glitching!
Once you get Luna working, it's worth toggling the 'All Processing' button on the right, to hear the difference that the cumulative FX for the whole mix make when on and off.
Immediately uninstalled because it seemed to literally want to cook my CPU after two consecutive crashes with blue screen, the uninstallation must be done thoroughly, the normal one of W11 is not enough. UAD still has a lot to work on here, and not making users do the testing work for free with equipment that is not their property because it was purchased with sacrifice by the users themselves, even putting it at risk and not only that. A class action lawsuit would be needed for these practices in my opinion.In another channel a similar my comment of mine was removed, I hope it doesn't happen here too. 👍👍😁
I saw another UA-camr reviewing RX11 and they also had a RME interface that needed to be rebooted. Any chance the RME drivers are to blame here?Not saying it's solely responsible, but perhaps there's an incompatibility with the coding within RX11 and Windows LUNA with the RME drivers? I would try another interface with a fairly new driver update to test that out.

Also, your feedback for the open beta is exactly what you saw while trying to run LUNA. problems with graphics and RME doesn't like it right now.
RME drivers are the most solid, rock stable drivers on the market, they never gave me any issues. Seriously - expect an earthquake sooner than an RME driver crash.
@@FoliaSound I dont doubt that at all, but it seems it may be worth checking out if new software if causing a crash, and the fact that you and the other channel were both using RME interfaces is the only reason I suggested that may be the common denominator. if you have another interface, give it a shot, can't hurt right?
I got it to start on my system but it only found a subset of my vst plugs. Apparently there is no option in preferences to manage vst plugins..aka no way to tell the program where to look. Also, no way to check what the default path is. oh, well.
That's absolutely insane. The most basic of basic features not being on it, even if it's a "beta", is just insane.
It’s not like other DAWS where you can set the plugin folder.
Path for VST3 plugs in LUNA
is Program Files/Common Files/VST3, I believe. You may want to try making a shortcut of the folder where you keep your VST3s and copy it into the Common Files/VST3 location. Not sure if that’ll work but it might.

I'm jealous, at least you got a transport bar! It only says "Playback disabled" for me, and nothing I can do about it. But hopefully they'll sort things out eventually.

Same here. I switched to another ASIO driver. After that I could start playback, but it crashed afterwards.

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 it's true, so true. It's a brick installed in a OS. Ok, it's a beta but even being a beta it has to work. We can't even send feedback. The internal audio engine is broken. It's a shame that UA made this happened...not usable at all
I spent 45 minutes trying to load it and gave up. I hope they get it working soon. It looks like a well thought out, functional DAW.
any idea if the uad plugins coming with luna pro bundle working in other daws...if yes, i would buy the luna pro bundle right now and atleast i can use the plugins till the luna daw is ready

It works good for me , right now the I/O matrix screen doesn’t display anything but I’ve tracked a session with no problems !!! Left it on and started the mix this morning no problems

I saw another video presentation and it seems like Luna was working perfect. The video was made by Zane from Audio Tech. So I don't know how it comes it works on one side and not on another.

This is the best sounding daw out of the box (but still beta and ok we can appreciate the time in between).I don't see myself abandoning Cubase for any reason completely but recording and mixing on this it's so much fun.Plus I tried to open VSL pro with this and it crashed big time the same with Mir Pro 3D. So yeah bottom line exciting but not reliable yet
Initially I couldn’t get it to open.
I moved one of my folders out of the usual vst3 path and that solved my problem. The DAW runs great. If you’re getting that weird message about some plugin resources not being present or whatever, look at the bottom of the splash page and take note of what plugin it’s getting hung up on consistently. Move that plug-in folder, for me it was Ozone, to another folder and then add that folder to the vst3 search path for your primary DAW so that you’ll have access next time you open it, then you’re all set. The only problem I have with any consistency is the counter all of a sudden getting stuck at 1|1|000. Sometimes I can just restart the DAW but often enough I have to restart my computer. This is a very rare occurrence and may or may not occur more frequently when I have the transport counter set to minutes and seconds. Yeah other than that no problems to speak of. One of the best functioning betas I’ve ever used…so far.
I couldn't even get it to open yesterday. Then it finally did, but I couldn't load or create any sessions. It didn't have a folder for sessions. I kept getting errors. I had to manually create a session folder, and it got rid of the errors, but it still wouldn't load anything.
So I un-installed reinstalled and nothing! Same damn thing, so I gave up! Then today, I un-installed it, deleted all the luna folders it left, reinstalled everything, and then it worked. I also hooked up my volt 1, so I'm wondering if it has something to do with that. Because I used my tascam 20x20 when it wouldn't work at all. I haven't even messed with it at all after it was working. I wasted too much time on it already. Very disappointing.
I installed it, it started, I loaded a demo project and it closed. Then when you open Luna a second appears and closes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, I have disconnected midi controllers and audio card, an update appeared today, no luck, still the same. My pc: i5 13500, 32gb ram, 1tb nvme m2.
I downloaded the beta and had the same issue with plugins failing to load with their sample projects. The problem is that they didn't only use the plugins that are native to Luna, but also third party plugins (even if they are UA). That is a mistake on their part in creating the sample projects. You are receiving the error because you don't have those non-native plugins installed. Still, the audio should at least play without them. I have had no issue with playback through my PreSonus ioStation 24c, even with the missing plugins. I also have had no stability issues so far. My disappointment is that the software only supports ASIO at the moment. I initially wanted to use a DAC that is WASAPI only but Luna doesn't appear to support WASAPI. That is obviously a Windows only driver type, so perhaps they will add it.
I don't know why, but I can't import wav files into Luna projects!
I haven't been able to either, but everything else seems good so far- probably just need to keep trying. Demo(s) started up just fine.
@@mymusicmixminute I found out it has to do with the ssd, it needs to be formatted to NTFS (New Technology File System). If you put the wav files on the desktop you will be able to import them! On macOS the SSD storage must be formatted as APFS (Apple File System).
I tried to import them from a thumb drive and it didn’t work. Then I moved the files into the audio folder and they loaded right in. It shouldn’t be that way, but at least I loaded them. What followed was a shit-show, but at least I was able to load them in.

Spent time downloading hoping to have some UA joy, I'm currently using Studio One which I really like. So I'm not looking to completely switch DAWs, but I have many UA plugs and am a Softube Console 1 / Fader user I was thinking in terms of have another one that I could use in certain situations. After getting it installed, I launched it and during the VST scan it shut down multiple times. Did some research and learned that if I moved things around so that it only scanned my UA stuff It might work ok. At this point I have no desire to restructure my plug-in files. So, No UA joy for me at this time.
Here everything opened perfectly and I have 2000 plugins installed in vst3. I did a mix, it didn't crash even once. So it can only be something in your Windows or your machine's config! and I still used the interface from 10 years ago! Mackie Black Jack! no problem!

Dzięki za to wideo. Myślałem, że jestem jedyny, który miał problem z uruchomieniem i działaniem LUNY. Choć u mnie to już się zaczęło od prób zalogowania się do ich systemu zabezpieczeń. A gdy w końcu zainstalowałem, to odkryłem, że uruchomienie możliwe było dopiero ...po wywaleniu i zainstalowaniu ponownie. A gdy już odpalił, to uznał, że wolnych 50GB na SSD to za mało, więc odmówił utworzenia nowego projektu. Może i wygląda intuicyjnie, a w wersji na Maca działa perfekcyjnie, lecz na Windows to potrzebuje komputerów z NASA. I tylko żeby uruchomić na nim Lunę i nic innego w tle.
Same issue with me Luna wouldn't open neither would the console when I updated it. What I did was completely uninstalled UAD and then did a fresh install and that seemed to work I was able to get Luna lunched I even got an old task him US 2400 to use with Luna but that's buggy at best. What I want to know is how to stream Luna through OBS. How are you doing that on your side how do you get the audio to play that would be a good video buggy and all. In reality this should be better. With so many possible Windows machine specifications this is why you have this issue even on high spec machines.
I appreciate they brought Luna to Windows but I had my doubts about it because even the new UAD Console window GUI update does not load plugin gui correctly for my Apollo 16 and Twin x. I have downloaded Luna but I have not tried it yet, sticking with Cubase for now..... :D
It works perfect with apollo hardware. I've tinkered around. Just to see if it has any alternative advantages. It appears pretty strong. Just a new learning curve slightly.
I had a lot of trouble with it at first due to my refusal to update my UAD plugins so it locked up and crashed. was abe to briefly get around this by jot closing the plugin manager but then that stopped working too.
Yesterday the released an update to the program manager app and now it is working fine. Problems with demo projects as I don’t have the plugins used.
It works perfectly on mine and I’m loving it,it really does change the sound
Ich habe keine Probleme mit Luna für Windows. Alles funktioniert super. Aufnahme von einigen Tracks im Proberaum mit Tascam Audio Interface 16x8 sowie bearbeiten von mit Pro Tools aufgenommenen Sessions völlig problemlos. Super! 👍

When you have beta software like that sometimes you get similar lag due to conflicts between your USB audio interfaces drivers and the errors in the code of the software. unplug your Usb audio interface completely and see if you can just navigate through the sowftware and see if it stops the lag.
If it does fix the lag dont use you USB audio interface for now, try running the sofware with the basic windows sound drivers and see if that
track will play with those instead, through your earphones etc etc.
I had exactly same lags when switching the ASIO drivers, sorry to say...

Did you try running the software with your USB audio interface completely unpluged and removed from your P.C, Because if it is
plugged in and there are errors in the software, as soon as you load up LUNA the software will alway scan for any audio interfaces
and this can cause lag issues in the software straight of the bat even though you haven't selected anything. What I mean is try
loading the software without any sound drivers or any hardware plugged into you P.C and see if it stop the lag as far as the loading
and navigating through the software is concerned, if there is a improvement, then try your basic motherboards sound device
normally its Realtet or something like that.

On my Windows 10 system I can play UAD demos no problems, but unable to import Audio Tracks from my projects. Recording tracks is intermitting even with high buffer rates! 😥
i cant open nmy past projects, and when i try to create a new project , says ,, that are pending load the past project , its unusable luna for me , luna dondt respond anymore
Works well on my Win 11 machine. The only gripe I have so far is that there is 1) no VST2 support and 2) as far as I can tell, there is nowhere to specify which folders to scan for VSTs. They simply hard coded C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 ... THAT to me is painful!
I am sorry you are experiencing issues with Luna. I wonder how many others are experiencing the type of issues you are having. I downloaded and tested Luna and I did not have any of the issues you are experiencing. I did not have the lag you had and I tested with 512 and 256 latency. If you switch off your audio interface and your DAW is open it can create issues. Just a few questions. What are your system specs? Have you looked for an update yet? Since it is a beta, updates should be released on a regular basis. Have you tested this with a different audio interface?
Of course I just downloaded it. It has been out a while before I downloaded it. I am using a Behringer x32 as an audio interface. My midi keyboard is a Yamaha SX7. It works a little different than the other DAWS I currently use. That takes some getting use to. But it works pretty good on my Windows machine.
The Mac version has been great over the last few years and it’s really smooth. No doubt they’ll iron out all the bugs in time for the full release.
I can't even change the project location and plugins path... I hope it can be possible soon!
No problem at all with Luna - Tracked and mixed 2 projects already.
Luna for windows is trying to become a combination of Harrison's Mixbus GUI with Apple's Logic Pro features and functions. But still I prefer Logic Pro for Music Production & Audio Pre-production and Mixbus for Audio Post-production. I do use UAD plugins during Audio Production that I have purchased. But I am not using Luna because it lacks many features that Logic Pro and Mixbus have and the ease of working with it (not user friendly as compared to Logic Pro and Mixbus). I tried Luna to produce my music but it need to include more features and functions to attract more Windows users.
I Downloaded Luna , I've used it for a few days, and it closes abruptly, I know it's a problem because it's a beta and eventually it will be better.
Something that I really hate, is that I don't know, how the send multiple outputs of a vst, I use ugritone drums, and I want to use multiple outputs of the plugin, and I don't know how to do it, could someone here help me?
It worked but with a lot of caveats. Needed to switch windows to integrated audio to let LUNA grab my M-Audio interface. MIDI works, dragging and dropping loops doesn’t work. No BSOD at least .
I have an Apollo Twin USB and a UAD Quad PCIe card running on Win11, and Luna fails to even install! It just says:
"Launch Issue. An Unexpected issue has occurred. Please restart UA Connect."
Works beautifully on my PC after removing Kontact, which I never used anyway. It is significantly better than every other DAW I have used, especially Pro Tools.

Can't even install it. Any software that makes it so difficult - nay impossible - to install, is software I want nothing to do with.
I try to start Luna on Windows 11, it shows some plugin scanner starts scanning, and then Exits,... So I can't start LUNA at all :-(( , is there some way of starting Luna without starting the Plugin Scanner ?

Yes, of course, but it's so buggy, that I can't even do any testing...
Crashed first time.. then when I closed the daw it didn't open.. had to close from the task manager, so it can reboot...

For me, it shows an error message "couldn't find a plugin". I have no idea about what plugin is referring to, as I followed all the steps on their website.
Check my message in this thread. I was having the same problem but got it solved. My solution may help you as well.

If you’ve got LUNA working and you’re using UA hardware, I would highly suggest staying away from the 11.3 update. It took me an hour to get everything running smoothly again after the update messed up LUNA.
Hopefully you kept 11.2 on your hard drive somewhere.
It refused to use my Soundcard Creative AE-9 latest drivers it kept saying audio disabled change audio settings after messing about for 2 hours i uninstalled and even that is a pain.

I got today's update and it still won't load any asio driver.

Loaded up straight away demo ran without issues all plugin scanned loaded and worked
I am using montage m 6 stienberg drivers built in audio interface 512 buffer it found everything
Looking at your issue and the error showing it appears you have midi driver issues

I tried it for a bit, I deleted it within the hr, I didn't have those issues but it did find it very clunky, and laggy, but not what I seen you having happen, my machine is kinda hefty though for the average person, even artists but, i'll stick with fruity and other daws, I'm not a "real" artist, I just daddle, so, it was ok. But needs work its memory functions are wacky, the residency is just not up to par.
Had it crash right after installing and loading in the first amp sim plugin, relaunched and got the amp sim loaded, did a quick track to the click, and after that added a new track for drums and crashed again with kontakt7 loading, In this form UA, couldn’t pay me $199 to keep it on my machine. Yes I know it’s beta but it’s to bad right now to even do basic tracking.
You may have to keep restarting the app so the scan can ignore flawed or incompatible plugins. I did before giving up. It works fine now.
I think is something to do with your Audio Interface crashed by Luna software, maybs
may be after couple of years and secondly what can it do different than other daws😐

Once I got pass the buffer issues(too small) it was rock solid. Being an open beta is always a pull push thing it's good because you get lots of users that report bugs which gives developers real world data to work on, bad for users because it's buggy..of course.
I was mixing with no major problems until I try to copy Waves Studio Rack to a another bus, Luna just crashed and when I reopened the project was broken and doesn't even play audio 😆
You got way farther than I did. When I installed it and ran it it showed the progress bar and then it showed an error saying that some directory didn't exist when it actually existed and would get stuck in that error message, and you had to end the process from the task manager. So then I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and now it finishes the progress bar but right after that the process in task manager shows that it changes from app to background process and it never appears, and so, again, I have to end the process. So I haven't been able to even see it opened at all.
To be honest, these kinds of issues seem to me like it should be an Alpha project not a Beta.
i tried luna yesterday and as soon as i loaded a kontakt instance, it crashed
I tested it and it worked pretty well on my computer, but id certainly wait a good while yet before id trust it for a full session, its not quite there yet. Im sure it will be solid enough for windows in a few updates, UA arent cowboys.
Absolutely, I'm more than sure they will polish it and make it a really stable thing.
It's a nice looking UI but I could not get it to play anything except the demo file, nothing went in and nothing came out (when inserting a midi track). Give it a Year and try again. Nice of them to offer it though. It looks like from the comments not everyone was disappointed.
I always find UAD is MacOS first class while Windows are peasants.
Even with their Audio Interfaces it works best with MacOS while in Windows, it's like fighting a bear with a chopsticks.
They really need to up their devs for Windows

the definitely need to up their devs for windows....but still windows is crap, especially for music production
@@snubdawg1386 that's 20 years ago, I haven't had any problem unless the hardware/software is mainly developed in MacOS first then ported to Windows mostly doesn't work properly. It takes a lot of resource just maintaining software/drivers in both OS, but MacOS is the worst because of the OS Update requiring people to update their drivers and software to be able to use newer OS, meanwhile Windows backward compatibility just works. so to me MacOS just sucks if you want a longevity in your software life span. so goodluck on maintaining these (no wonder there's more music software tools that is made for windows and even theyre not supported anymore they still works... huh)
@@yasunakaikumi do you build your own windows pc and do you have a list with compatible hardware parts for music production? dpc-latency on windows is often a hassle, which basically not exists on mac.....don't get me wrong, i'm working on windows and i don't like apple but as soon as i can afford it i will switch to mac ...i know some people that work professionally and they hated on apple the last 20 years but always had sooner or later driver problems with windows and different devices and since they switched to apple they love it because it just works ...i'm not an apple fan boy i'm just stating what i read on the internet and what people that i personal know told me after the make the change ...of course if you're building your own windows pc and really know what you're doing (getting the right parts), you can get a much better machine, much cheaper as any mac ...unfortunately for portable devices i doubt that, at this point in time
Kontakt doesn't work for me so it's useless for me for right now, but I like the workflow and some of the ideas!
Hopefully some of the plugin support gets fixed.
I love it ! Every now and then it farts and need reset but Protools mess up every session I do , reaper never crashes , but the rest crashes
I can't get it to load any asio driver. Tried opening under administrator and the same thing. So can't even try it, lol.
on my Mac air M1 very smooth hope in future will be solid on windows aswell

I downloaded Luna yesterday. I am testing it with a Motu M4 on W11 and a 13th Generation i7... I'm not having the problems the OP is having, but I must say, the MIDI editing is quite basic. I won't be giving LUNA much air time anytime soon because there is still a lot of work to be done. I must say though, visually, I think it looks good on the eyes and the DAW does have promise.
my pc is mediocre, 4core/8threads 4ghz i3 13th gen, 32gb ddr4 3200. MSI MB, firewire interface MR816. Luna works good.
My problem is with outputs assignment for a main bus. there is no option, Luna sets out 1 and 2 there by default. my workaround is to have an extra PFL send on main bus to my desired output and muting daw input on channels 1 and 2 on my device mixer, took me few seconds.
another problem is lack of multichannel send for superior drummer like vst's.
other than that I love it. my MCU controller works great.
constant blue screen on my pc... works like half an hour then crashed windows, and from that on, blue screen everytime i try to open a session...
when it comes to uad, "for now" is "for ever". for many years i tried to get them to fix the unusably distorted wdm/mme recording driver and they had the most pathetic excuse... "uad hardware is for use with professional audio software only". crazy how a $5000 rackmount uad interface can't record clean audio in games or discord or zoom calls but every other brand under $5000 can do it even a lowly focusrite scarlett 2i2. Sold all my UAD gear and went to antelope. Antelope had many issues too but at least they fixed them instead of making excuses. I can now finally compress, eq and noise gate my voice in non asio applications like discord, games and video calls. But not with UAD
