  • Described as the greatest railway journey in the world, this 84 mile round trip takes you past a list of impressive extremes. Starting near the highest mountain in Britain, Ben Nevis, it visits Britain's most westerly mainland railway station, Arisaig; passes close by the deepest freshwater loch in Britain, Loch Morar and the shortest river in Britain, River Morar, finally arriving next to the deepest seawater loch in Europe, Loch Nevis!
The famous Glenfinnan viaduct carries the railway to Glenfinnan Station across a 1,000 ft span, 100 ft above the ground. The Jacobite steam train runs from here to Fort William and Mallaig in summer months with regular trains available the rest of the year.
The filming of the second and third Harry Potter books, Harry Potter and the Chambers of Secrets and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban took place in this area with the Hogwarts Express calling at Glenfinnan! In August every year, on the Saturday closest to 19 August, the Glenfinnan Gathering and Games take place.
Loch Shiel (Scottish Gaelic: Loch Seile) is a freshwater loch situated 20 kilometres (12 mi) west of Fort William in the Highland council area of Scotland.
The music is by Scott Buckley and the song is called Chsing Daylight, it can be found on his website www.scottbuckley.com.au

Wow you can’t beat a Steam Train and a Viaduct, excellent footage, i thought I was watching a Victorian Period Drama on TV for a moment. I recently rode the North Norfolk Heritage line and was hoping to take some drone footage but the weather was fowl.. There is some excellent drone footage on YT of that line you may appreciate, by someone called Paul Joshua Gardner (I have no connection btw). It must take a lot of planning to make such videos. Keep up the good work.
