Great commentary
Lol
these are the people we should thank most for gb winning a gold at every games, if they hadn't won here gb wouldn't have that record.
Amazing to think that this was the only gold medal Team GB won at the Atlanta Olympics, and many people afterwards after the poor showing from Team GB were questioning the state of sport in the country.

Steve Redgrave won the 2 - in 3 consecutives times in the olympics games 1 whit Andy Holmes.and 2 whit Pinsent

At the time rowing in the UK was poorly financially supported and seen as a tier 3 sport for medals or any success. It was only after this win that the national lottery and UK Gov finally stepped up and seriously funded rowing which has more than paid back that investment to become GB’s most successful Olympic medal winning sport.
@@askiff1415 yeah, but it wasn’t just about rowing. No sport was properly supported - thank god that’s changed now.
@@Gg-zd8xz not true. Some sports were overflowing with funds but wasted it entirely through poor development and coaching but were seen as more TV friendly although produced a poor return on investment. Thankfully that got rebalanced
