  • In this video i bought an eBay short shifter for my BMW E36 Drift Build. Was not that hard of a job to do and i am pretty happy with the outcome.
    This was a cheap easy modification that only cost $30 off eBay.
    Thanks for watching.

    I have installed one on my BMW e46 and I have to say, it is the most amazing experience I have ever had, it really is worth it, and I urge everyone to get one!!
    The only trouble I had was installing it at home , because the ring that you must clip on from the bottom was extremely hard to do alone and if you dont have the proper tools it will be extremely difficult to clip it on , so I had to take it to a garage to place the bottom ring/clip on it,

    Are you using a ZF trans? Idk why but I got the wrong shift lever. Idk if it was a getrag or one for a 4 banger or coulda been a e30 lever. Just wanna make sure it works with the ZF

    Hey great job on that camera angle under the car! I've tried to see a few vids on doing this but none of them would or could show that area. Thanks! One thing I don't really know and it seems to be a bit different for some is that some seem to not need the "C" clip on the bottom. Might be the E46 but I'm not sure. I'll have to do a bit more digging.

    • @JakeSams

      I wonder Jake how is the shifter now that you've had it in almost a year? Presuming you still have the same car lol. I bought one because most of the reports on then said it was an improvement and at that price you can't lose. I just got it in the post but my car is getting the sub frame reinforcement plates put in (E46 M3 Thanks BMW LOL) which takes a few days. Can't wait to get it back.

    • @JakeSams
      @JakeSams  6 років тому

      Greg Wayne it's amazing man and hah I have a video on subframe plates and bushings as well I still have the car having some fuel issues right now just popped in a new mishimoto rad. So videos on that very soon as well. But I love the shifter have had zero issues.

    • @friguy4444
      @friguy4444 6 років тому

      Haha. I thought I'd watched ever subframe video on youtube but I keep forgetting that the E36 had problems too. I'm watching some more of your vids now. I'm getting the poly bushing put in too and I'm hoping it will really tighten up my rear for the drit-max factor LOL. Wow you put some sweet bushing in your trailing arms man. Those must have run a few bucks. But you drift that baby all the time. I'll be checking out the rest of your vids! Thanks for the great content Jake. Subbed!

    I've found with these that they can be hit or miss. the throw is way too short that I miss gears and it might be slightly conflicting with my selector rod as i occasionally grind into gears if i go too quickly. also, I cant trll the difference between neutral and my lower gears, it's pretty bad. theres so much slop in them that to me, I prefer the feel of the genuine one. but whatever, I got my $20 worth because at least I can still drive it
