    Great vid thanks, I found that KYB shock KG54338 was the appropriate match for the rear on a 2002 Rodeo Sport. The KYB KG5534 didn't cross over to my rear application FYI.

    EXCELLENT video ( and editing!!) of "how to"...! You should be an instructor at an automotive repair school; very precise and informative to follow - a skill most don't have.

    I got my shocks finished. Thanks for removing any worries about it being tough to do.
    My Amigo rides smooth after getting rid of those shocks with 176k on them.

      Lance Mead Good to hear. This Rodeo Sport with 220K miles+ felt like brand new after replacing the shocks.

    I have a 04 Axiom that I did this to. But, my light didn't go off when I removed the ride control fuse. Any ideas how I can get this dash light off?

      did you figure this out? just take a fuse out?

    Hey, sorry for being a little slow on the uptake with all this, but are you saying that there's no aftermarket shock that will hook into the active suspension system of the Amigo? Meaning if I have the "sport/comfort" switch I'm basically outa luck if I need new shocks?
    I'm not fussed about spending money, I just want to know if you've definitely confirmed that there are no shocks out there that will allow the functioning of the dual ride system...
    Thank you, these videos are great.

      Correct - I have never seen any aftermarket active dampening shock for any car brand, even large volume production vehicles like the Acura MDX, so I would be doubly surprised to see on a low production vehicle such as the Rodeo Sport.

      *****
      Righto, thank you. Does Isuzu still manufacture the OEM part though? I'm just worried the sport/comfort button will be useless once the original shocks wear out, I'm kind of attached to that eccentric little feature.

    Thank you so much for posting this. You took all the worry out of having to replace my shocks. I'm stoked to do mine now.
    I noticed that there were no washers on top in between the shock and the bushing. Aren't you missing them? (Asks the guy who has never installed shocks.🚙)
    Any idea if greasing the bushings is useful?
    Nice Rodeo Sport, BTW!

    • @ModMINI
      @ModMINI  9 років тому

      I might have done it wrong when I recorded this. There should be washers between shock and bushing and between the nut and bushing. I've never greased them.
      Oh, and thanks for noticing the truck - I was helping my brother sell it. It looked pretty tired when he dropped it off but it cleaned up really nice. He bought it new and was letting it go after driving 220,000 miles. Still ran great and needed almost no work other than these shocks and some coil packs.

    How did you come up with the correct shock for the rear? I have a 2001 Rodeo LSE, searching the internet seems pointless since all results come back "exc active suspension", very frustrating. Great video by the way, it will be very helpful once I figure out what in the world fits my Rodeo.

    • @ModMINI
      @ModMINI  10 років тому

      I checked the Isuzu forums and that is the rear shock that the forums confirmed is a direct fit. The vendors will always say 'excludes active suspension' because they don't include the necessary electronics.

    Hey boss, im looking for some advice, i have a 2000 rodeo ls, looking to change rear shocks, the shocks have been replaced by the previous owner so im not sure if it had intelligent suspension or not, this year model has no tell tell button
    You see..... so how would i go about finding out if it had it of not?

    • @ModMINI
      @ModMINI  9 років тому

      Jesus Gutierrez If no button, it's probably non-ISC> I believe there was a show-off badge on the back of the vehicle as well. Also, you'd find a wiring harness back there if it was ISC.

    Hey, thanks for the video. Do you know was I can use for a 2002 Isuzu Axiom? My ride is pretty ruff and it seems to bottom out when I have two or three people in the back.I wasted a bunch of money on the OEM rear shocks cause I thought that was the problem.... it wasn't. Its possible that the module is fried or something. I'd just like to do what you did to the Rodeo. Any suggestions? Thanks

    • @ModMINI
      @ModMINI  10 років тому

      Hi -
      The strut is probably simply worn out, in addition to whatever ISC problems there might be.
      The installation procedure for an Axiom should be the same but the strut length might be different.

    Will these same shocks work on a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo LS "Ironman Triathlon Edition 4X4 with active ride ?
