Bios compatibility issues, apparently
@U are My submissive toy Heil AMD?
Also Laptop and soon mobile 🤣
@U are My submissive toy We don't want AMD to win, we just just want the competition to keep growing.
So did AMD try to bait nvidia by increasing the clocks now or did they purposely restrict the card and when Nvidia lowered their prices AMD was forced let go of those restrictions
either way its a slap to Nvidia LOL
@@rorodollars nvidia always get dicksmacked...they cant never compete price/performance.
billy bob bob I mean, they just compete with their performance
@@nicholaschan2982 amd can make faster cards @ same price due to overall better engineers.
In anyway, amd has designed and planned to allow headroom for performance improvement before releasing 5600xt. The added flexibility for when and how it is done, is depending on the appropriate strategy against the competitors. It is ever changing moments to win. We just enjoy the show and pay less for more.
Community : " what are doing ?"
AMD : "rip and tear intel"
Community: "so, since you're focusing on intel you would leave nvidia alone, right ?"
AMD : "no no no, they're next"
@adrian sasu very cringe and not at all true. Nvidia seem like the type that keeps 1-2 generations of cards behind just to crush AMD's hopes and dreams and market share whenever they dare to "leak" fake benchmarks. Like with the Vega shit they tried to pull. They released a 1080ti that, worked with dx12 suddenly.
**Laughs in 3000 series**

@@AlbertoMartinez765 those that got a 2060 won't cry like the ones that went for AMD at every single game release that their game doesn't work.
also the idiots that pre-purchased AMD cards and now have to upgrade their bios, if that even works properly.
They used business sense not''tricked'', what are they expected to do when a small company takes on Nvidia and Intel at the same time.
They probably always had that BIOS update in their back pocket incase nvidia would try a move like this.
The difficult thing is that AMD’s hand was almost forced to release in this way because they were late to the game with this card. They knew going in that a 2060 price drop was imminent.
I agree. I think they really botched this launch. Not all cards have the bios update? The cards are now all pre-overclocked, so if I'm going in expecting an extra 5-10%, I'll be disappointed. And don't get me started on the AMD drivers. I'd rather pay $10-30 more for a 2060 for better quality of life.
Well this has been a long time coming.
First Rtx had the problem where people found out gtx cards can do raytracing as-well, so nivida needed to push out a new gpu to say “hey look we still care” it was either doing this or just lower the price of the current Rtx line up.
Other really disappointing fact is nivida didn’t really have a single Black Friday sale, the only good one I saw was $100 off a Rtx 2060 gigabyte but each store that did this only got 10, after the sale stock jumped right back up to +20
I was bought a few stocks in amd back in October 2018 for my birthday from a friend because I was raving how good my rx 580 was.
So he bought me “failing stocks” when amd hit a low now it’s over double I don’t want amd to fail
.....
but it seems like they are rushing this gpu out the door before it’s ready, won’t have up to date drives on the gpu and completely push the gpu limits will increase temps for sure.
I just hope they don’t kill this one like they did on the Vega, and almost the 5700xt with it’s heating problem
They were prolly just as surprised as me that 2060's were STILL selling for THAT much, and figured "There's no WAY that's gonna last, let's start out lower price."
To be totally honest thou, I don't believe they planned this.
@@NWCPcbenchmarks "First Rtx had the problem where people found out gtx cards can do raytracing as-well"

interesting. Your Sapphire Pulse RX 5600 XT has two heat pipes. Mine has three and came with the updated bios. So I guess the updated bios that releases more performance, and therefore more heat, needs more cooling.

I think anyone upgrading components should hold out till next year till the consoles hit.
Why is that?
@vons terrorists sorry to sound like a broken record but, why is that? Not saying the landscape isn't gonna change but, where is the idea of this steep incline coming from?
@vons terrorists
Good point, and most game companies cater to consoles and pc gamers only get the scrap port.
@vons terrorists Teraflops isn't much more than a buzzword surrounding consoles, in terms of computing power. Yes, power requirements will be going up more rapidly with recent jumps in tech. The people who spent $400-500 a few years ago on their adequate systems are invariably going to have to step up. At the same time, the efficiency of hardware, especially mid-range, is making leaps and bounds right along with these new requirements. While I agree, depending on what's changing when, it can be wise to wait, the plain and simple fact is, we know generally what those projected demands are.
A decent 8core and a ssd in a console doesn't change much for PC users past what we already know. The average user with a four year old budget system is gonna need some rather cheap upgrades. What's new? Or am I missing some other point?
Why the video editing, encoding test is missing ??? People not only play but also work on graphics cards for example: Adobe Premiere ...

As an owner of the 5600 XT (MSI OC Mech version), I can say if I was making my purchase a lot earlier (had the card for maybe 2 months) I would not have been as confident in the stark numbers upgrade post BIOS issues. Even with that said, and also the fact that I sympathize for the guys who don't want to deal with fuss and just want a card that works right... I can't understand why this card isn't selling more. It has been a dream for me, saved big picking it up during a sale, and it has worked out of the box without any additional mcguyvering. What gives? People just want to waste $$ I guess.
Okay let me summarize this w/o the odd bias HC is showing today. The 5600 is a solid card. But only after the BIOS release you can't get yet without doing it yourself and maybe bricking your card. But it's still a solid performer.
NVidia also price dropped the 2060 which out-competes this across the board for only about 4% price increase.
HC can't suggest buying the NVidia card, because of out of character reasons known only to the Old Ones and maybe the HC bank accounts 😆.
Question is, does the drivers suck as much as the 5700 XT? Mine still blacks out during heavy load.

@@shido8597 update it, should be fixed I haven't had issues
Let's see AMD keeping that 20$ price difference at the high end when they release them.
How are the driver issues with AMD now though ? I was eyeing the 5700xt but after doing some digging I kept reading about users having excessive driver issues with them.
It's not really a problem for me, all you do is download AMD's software and click the gear icon, then go to the system tab & click the "check for updates" button & it updates on its own
I would only recommend this card if you're planning on gaming at 1440p at 144 fps, at 60 fps settle for the non-xt & at 1080p apply the same for their 5600 series
Now that's a pleasant surprise after such a disappointment

"Some of the cards are even better than they initially claimed waaaahhhhh~~~"
-Some shintel deepthroater, probably
If you get this card don't bother with the BIOS update to boost the timings. Just stick the OE bios that the card was originally intended to come with. Just like any over clock you're playing the silicon lottery which means, if it works, great. Otherwise, you're left with a completely unstable GPU. I bought the PowerColor 5600XT and it actually came with the updated BIOS right out of the box. The benchmarks were impressive for the price, but the card just constantly crashed. And DxDiag started throwing up errors that there was an underlying instability in the video card and to check the voltages on the GPU. The last minute update to the core clocks just didn't give the card manufacturers time to fully qualification test the board hardware and insure the product they were sending out the door is going to actually work as advertised.
Well played AMD. Well played...
Now if only they put the same effort into their drivers. True fullscreen applications are synonymous with BSODs right now. And don't get me started on ReLive.
Rather than make a whole new card that is almost the same as a 5700 at a lower price, why not just price cut the 5700 by like 80 bucks
@John Smith Nah I think the upcoming 3060 is gonna be equal to 2070s, 2080s is just too much.
@John Smith thats just a ton of bs there my dude. Given with how Nvidia's GPU Performance Evolution per Architecture/Generation its not gonna be even close to that it should be in line with a 2070/super if we're talking abt RTX 3060 but with lesser TDP/Power draw.
Thanks for keeping this video short.
The RTX 2060's are still 400 where i live. And 450 for the SUPER model.
I firmly believe the Bios nerfing was absolutely necessary. I believe AMD had to do it to keep what ever leak is getting to Nvidia prior to launch about product performance to keep them from from attempting to disrupt another one of their launches.
I also think it was to hide people from the fact that it came close to the 5700.
I’ll take stable drivers over a little higher fps
Not to mention a 2060 can overclock very well. This is the best you're gonna get from a 5600xt.and let's not pretend partner OC AIB will be cheaper than 300
Mike Shane you right!
I love the new video scale. Fills up my note 10+ :D
They haven't made the card faster though, they've just pre-overclocked it. So for anyone who overclocks their cards these benchmarks are meaningless. What would have actually been useful is if you'd have tested overclocked performance as well.
What are you talkin they boosted their power usage aswell that means you will be available to oc it even more then the Original one
@@dread6399 I'mma be nice an educate you. When you overclock you can set the cards power limit as well.

Whats the reason for this card. In the EU it costs exactly the same as the 2060 and RX 5700. All these cards have virtually the same price. RTX 2060 is around 350€, RX 5600XT is around 350€ and RX 5700 is around 350€. What's the point of this?
Just buy the 5700 than
Here in the states is 279-300$ after taxes is still $300-330
Prices is that far of from u
U guys already have taxes included
I know what you mean. I bought a 2060 super on sale 3 weeks ago for about the same price as this in Canada. regular 2060s are frequently below the price of this card. so here, i dont think it makes much sense and yet, its sold out at every retailer for some reason
The point is rps... where 5600xt is $279 and 5700 $349 and 5700xt $399... look the relative prices in there and Expect to see market prices based on those differences. So if you can get 5700 at 350€ Expect to see this at 279€ Sooner than later.
In USA you can get 5700 at $300 so you can Expect to see 5600xt near $239 quite soon!

Everything with 6Gb of vram is crap at 1440p. Its already not enough in far too many games and it will continue to get even worse. There are already rumors, that with the new Konsoles on the horizon this year, both AMD and Nvidia will greatly increase the vram of their next Generation Gpus.
Dont ever go below 8gb of vram anymore if you plan on running 1440p.
I'd still go 2060 and at least in the US it's easy to get a $299 card. Even the founders is available
I know we wanted to get a 5600 XT but for streaming AMD cards don't really have hardware encoders so fail ....
Would it please be possible to benchmark also with some racing / rally games? Project Cars 2, Dirt Rally 2, F1 2019, etc. Thanks!
You don't need SSD for gaming performance. It only affects loading times. Frequently accessed data is loaded in to RAM.
The problem is not all 5600 XTs may be able to handle the new memory speed bumps dictated by AMD to manufacturers. Meaning that some 5600 XTs (especially those that already went out the door to retailers validated at the pre-vBIOS upgrade specs) will not be able to be as good as what is considered “stock” that reviewers are promoting.
I don't see the point in the bios switch. Why would anybody be reaching into the side of there case to make the GPU slightly quieter
