Very nice dress! Looks so comfortable. 😊
You fought with that dress but I've got to say it was worth it. It looks so nice on you. I love the color on you, and the fit is great! Good job!
Looks comfy and boho. I don't think that bodice/neckline would suit me but it works for you. You look ready for a summer music festival.
This is so helpful! I'm just learning to work with knits and am not making this dress but watching how you handle the fabric is really helpful!
Very pretty dress
I was hoping you´d do a project with jersey fabric. You were patient and did a great job, lots of tips along the way.
Lovely! But what a pain! New follower ❤️
This is such a cute dress! I know it was a pain to make but wow, definitely not your typical jersey dress. Love it!
Very nice fabric and pattern. What I love most is when you are altering patterns and you show it step by step. Very appreciated.❤
That dress looks great on you and your arms are lovely
That was a job! That was such a floaty knit. The end result was lovely, but getting to the end 🤦🏼♀️
Reinforcing the horizontal seam with the gathering elastic isn’t such a bad thing in such a floppy knit. It will help it keep its shape while you’re wearing it.
It looks beautiful on you!
The dress is lovely! It looks great on you . I thought when you started, "I'd like to make that." But I think I've changed my mind now that I saw how complicated it was. And you made it easier be making a sew along without the tissue fitting. I doubt I would have gotten very far if I had done the tissue fitting first and followed it with all that complication.
Love the dress 👗
Once again a fabulous make Marie. I actually have a similar fabric but in a soft green and cream but there's no way I would be able to manage that pattern 😊😊
looking good sweetie
That's a very pretty dress on you! Well worth the finicky fabric!! But, it was a beautiful fabric choice!
You are so good at those tricky corners- I have to rewatch your videos every time I face one!!
The thing I'd take from this is to mark the centre of the pieces asp. I think it looks nice on you. X
Wow! you really had some patience with this one. It turned out great and looks fantastic on you!
What a gorgeous pairing of fabric and pattern❤❤❤. This pattern has been on my wish list since its debut. The bodice is very interesting but as always you made it work and it is very pretty and fits you so well. Thanks for sharing, Marie😊😊😊
I love everything about this dress! The pattern and fabric are a perfect pairing in my opinion. It is beautiful on you.
Well that was a handful but it looks fabulous on you.
It was worth taking the two weeks to get such a sweet summer dress out of the work! Looks great on you. Probably might be nice into early fall with a jacket or sweater. I am intrigued by that front center piece that appears to keep the two sides from flopping around as much as they might if they were left open.🧐 Thanks for sharing your experience. 🙌
Oh wow, it looks amazing! 😊
Wonderful channel!!! You’re just the best at explaining and sharing and showing what you’re doing as you sew. I never want to miss a video. I’m scared at anything with a waist because of my menopause body. I bought the punch but need to find a thick piece of leather
Great job. What a complicated design. The dress looks nice. You are so patient sewing this.
Wow. This style looks fantastic on you. The fabric choice looks great on you too. Win win. Thanks for the video. I have this pattern so this will be helpful.
Really nice fabric for this pattern.
I love the pattern and the material but not together. I love your channel and teaching skills. Thank you Marie❤😁🌹
I really love the dress, it's so lovely on you. I'm tempted to get the pattern and give it a go myself. That's for you clear instructions ❤🎉
I love this dress like crazy. This is my style and I m going to make it as soon s possible. Knits are my fav to wear. You look great in it, Marie.
I have tried to understand the burrito method but so far I have not. The instructions do show how to do it in a more understandable way. It was a lot of work, but the bodice came out really nice. It's a lovely dress.
please hold pattern steady so we can get a good look of it. Also line drawings are important to determine if i wish to make and watch Thanks
Do a quick google on the pattern number and you can see everything very detailed from those images too.
Better get my cuppa ready for this one. X
Soooo cute! Love it!
👏 👏 👏 Bravo!
I sewed the same fabric into PJ bottoms for my daughter.😢. Kudos to you for getting a good looking dress as a finished product! Personally I might punish this dress by wearing it to do outside chores and housework with out an apron.😉and donate the pattern to the woodstove box lol
This video was well worth the wait, it's fantastic on you. The no sleeve option is perfect, I really like the neck line it's quite unique. Thank you for a wonderful video. Will you make another one dress in this pattern? If so, what would you do differently?
I think this is a one and done kind of pattern for me. I love wearing it though
😮love your dress and your efficiency in explaining the details. I have a similar pattern and after a while the bodice grows, therefore I am wondering of if I lined the bodice burrito style like this pattern if it will help to avoid that problem.
Well done for the patience aspect. It worked out OK in the end. Ps don't think I'll be doing it 😂❤😊
Very good explanation and a cute dress. Do you know the weight of your fabric? I learn a lot from all your videos. Thanks you for letting us follow your work! All the best from Norway!
I don't know exactly, but mid weight. Not super heavy and not really light.
😊😊😊😊😊😊❤
Please could you explain how you prevent your stitches from popping on knit fabric just using a normal straight stitch on sewing machine. TIA
Use good thread, also there is a "stretchable" thread made by a few manufacturers that help. For those seams that may want to stretch under tension, work just a bit of stretch into it as you sew. Look at the video Sewing Simplicity 8874 for a lot more detail. Thanks!
I love this dress. Love the tie dye effect and red is just beautiful. Did the fabric have 2 way or 4 way strecth? And how much? I'm thinking of making it with ITY or scuba but my ITY doesn't have alot of stretch.
It did have a lot of stretch all the way around. But I'm thinking something with less stretch could work too.
Are you using a vintage straight stitch machine? I use a similar machine, but I don't do well with sewing knits with it. How are you doing that?
I'm sorry I didn't go into detail about that on this video! I have other older ones where I show a lot about sewing knits on a straight stitch machine. Try this one:

How to you adapt a knit dress to a woven dress? Do you have any suggestions? How about a video on this topic?
You have to make sure there is a way to get in and out. Usually have to add a zipper or something. And also make sure there is enough ease to move. Lots of knit patterns would be too tight in a woven as is.
I have never wore anything tie dyed but, I really enjoyed the outcome of this piece. In the world of opinions, there are trillions, I believe you are much more detailed in your explaining of tasks than Nancy Zeiman. I like Nancy but, you really come across as someone that can teach and teach to all levels of sewers. I'm glad you are not sucked into sponsorship roles. Your presentation is so personal, yet, you keep very neutral to everything that is going on in the world. You are timeless! Anyone could watch one of your videos 30 plus years later and find information tried and true. Thank you!!!
Thank you!!!
