My wife didn't find this movie very "cozy"---she found it fairly depressing due to the levels of pain & trauma all the boys are struggling through, with their sad homelife situations.. As a kid watching it, those aspects had never really stood out to me _that_ strongly, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that she had a point.
One of my all time favorite coming of age movies these outdoor environments were outstanding in 4k. This is actually in my top 5 all time discs so far.
great review man! I seen this film a long time ago and really enjoyed it and will be getting it in 4K, being a group of boys and all that it always reminded me of The Sandlot, or more so the other away around, would love if The Sandlot got a 4K release also
I love the 4K edition. Was disappointed it didn’t come with a digital copy. If I’m paying $20-$30 for a film, I’d like to watch it wherever. Not a big deal though. Great review.
I agree, they should all have digital copies included.
I'm thinking its because there isn't a 4k digital version yet only regular HD

The steelbook just need to be the landscape cardboard image with just stand by me or no title at all.

One thing that weird I bought it on digital and movies anywhere didn’t have it to have across movie platforms
Unfortunately we'll probably never get another movie depicting brotherhood of young American boys again, movie's like Stand By Me, The Sandlot, Heavyweights will always hold a special place in my heart.
Yes Stand By Me looks great in 4K I was extremely impressed! River Phoenix performance in this one is top notch! Corey Feldman too! Kiefer Sutherland is an actor I've always been a fan of. Say do you have Labyrinth in your 4K collection? If so what are your thoughts on the quality of that one?
I was never a big fan of Labyrinth so I don’t have the 4K. I may revisit that movie though, it’s been about 25 years since I’ve seen it.
@@MovieGuy365 that's cool! We all have our opinions. Ya I hadn't seen it in awhile til years later I enjoyed it. The stand by me deleted scenes on the 4K are pretty cool
I was going to get Labyrinth on 4K until I found out that only the more rare & expensive 35th Anniversary Edition is in Dolby Vision---the more common, 30th Anniv. Ed. is not in Dolby Vision. I'm not gonna spend the money on a 4K when a better 4k version already exists---hopefully it gets a wider/cheaper release.

Hey Adam picked this one up thanks for the review. I was wondering can you tell me what DVD stands you use there and where to get them, or give me a link to them looking to replace mine
They are BESTA cabinets from IKEA. They run about $80 a piece I believe, though I’m not sure they still carry these exact models. I bought these about 5 years ago.

There’s a lot of grain in this one. I accept a certain amount. But when the sky is not blue anymore it’s too much. Still the HDR makes me chose the 4K over the bluray.
