Please ask better questions, not “What makes Pantera so special? “ if you have to ask THAT question these days you most likely will never know...you had to be living in the 90’s after the age of 17-18 to understand their full brutal impact on the world!! Getting the new Pantera album is just something you can’t explain because back then it was all word of mouth but just KNOWING that Vulgar was coming, then FBD then GSTKin the 90’s would make you look forward to those days you were living back then, being that their sound, talent, energy and aggression was just on another musical level!! This is a very different Phil Anselmo than we're used to seeing. It genuinely seems like he's in a much better place in his life. I truly wish the Abbott brothers had lived to see it. Phil, Rex, Dime, and Vinnie changed my life, and I'll be a Pantera fan till the day *I* leave this earth. Cheers, Phil. Thanks to Graspop for publishing the interview.

The first metal band that I listened to was pantera, at age 15, it was and it is my favourite to this point. Keep up the black tooth grin spirit Phil! Young generations will be pleased

Phil has such a history in Music, and other stuff besides it. He could be seen as a legend. I can reflect myself with him and his alcohol addiction. It is fucking horrible and a nightmare, luckily I got over it as well, and also rather don't wanna look back at it ... Phil, we gotcha man !!!

Been a fan since I saw Pantera open for Suicidal Tendencies at the Ritz in NYC 89 or 90. As soon as they played, I was blown away by Phil and the boys. Rex stomping around beating the basslines, Vinny being an absolute caveman, battering the drums, Dime...speaking a magical new language through his guitar, and Phil, calling forth the voice of deities and projecting that voice at the unsuspecting crowd. The very next day, I was at my local record store, Numbers records on Fresh Pond Road in Ridgewood Queens. I bought Cowboys from Hell and played that cassette at least a dozen times that day. That show will be a memory I hope I’ll have to the day I cast off this meat suit and go on to the next part of this journey through the universe
