Thanks Jay - it's super encouraging that the UA-cam algo finally put a video on the recommended page!. Super stoked to be building an even bigger community of really nice people who really love skiing and boarding.
@@riseandalpine , we skied Baker Feb 27-Mar 1 last year in epic conditions, more pow than I've ever seen. After our day there and a wonderful salmon soup for lunch we get to the car and there is a six pack down by the front tire! Not only us but every car in the lot! That's a welcoming resort yo.
Red Mountain is frickin' awesome. Spent a season there a few years back and will definitely be back for more. You got a fabulous dump too and when conditions are like that, it rocks on so many levels it's not funny!
Amazing snow, and so late in the season! The danger of tree wells has been a topic recently and it looks like you must be close to such danger, do you have any experience with such?
Looks like I remember it this place was my favorite I've ever been to powder fields was amazing just of granite lift you seem to have picked the right day to go . I'm going to fernie beginning of next year so looking forward to that as it seems much as good as this place. How's the marker pt 16 s working for you
Red is so much fun man - glad you've experienced it! Fernie should be super sick next year, that's on my list. The PT's were absolutely fabulous this season. They crushed it on the resort and only released me when needed. In the backcountry they were awesome on the uphill. Only downside is the weight and the fact that you have to put them in your pack every time you transition. I never left them on the skis while going uphill because I couldn't find a way to ensure they would fall out. How did you find them?
I like them haven't used them much with skins but they are a great confidence booster when you find they release when they should and not before would definitely buy them again. Still would like marker to make parts for them though. Shitting myself I lose a toepiece. How was whitewater compared to red your video there looked amazing as well. would love to go as it's really quiet just like red powder for days not hours . Liked whistler but just too busy for me, too much time spent in a lift line. Wish you so many more pow days . Keep safe
What time of year was this? Just skied Red Jan 31st and the conditions were awful (low altitude) becuase of the rain. Couldnt believe I got rained on Jan 31st... At Whistler or Revy it is understandable with a 2K base, but Red's is close to 4K. I could see the potential at Red though.
Great people in Rossland! It's super laid back and a true ski town vibe. Only a few pubs and breweries and a coffee shop. Not a wild party scene or a load of restaurants like Whistler, but if you're looking for a classic ski town and good skiing, it's a sick place.
@@riseandalpine Nice sounds awesome! I'm looking forward to more ski hill reviews! Hopefully you can ski my hometown hills at Sun Peaks, Harper Mountain (and why not the tiny beginner hill at Clearwater while it's still around) :D
If you hit Red between high school semesters they have the annual Winter Carnival. Eh-mazing. End of January before all the spring breaks etc. Whitewater is close.
Feels unbelievable to have so many amazing people following along. Don't worry I won't forget one of my favourite commenters! Next stop 100k Let's Goooooo!
@riseandalpine yeah, the insanity when powder comes and the lines drop is ugly. People act like animals, rudeness, anxiousness. Colorado Cam says he avoids the Powder Panic. What you have is way better. Amazing pow days last year.
Pssst. Keep it quiet. Red sucks. Too many runs named after some guy called Cliff makes it confusing. Strap a cam on Rob sometime! You should have a camera sponsor the way you bushWACK!
You're right - red does suck. Don't Go. Will be investing in a helmet mount for rob hahaha. Thankfully insta360 send me a new camera every season - I scratch the lens in the trees every few months - always worth it though!
@@riseandalpine broken a couple of gopro mounts myself. When you come to Louise next year let me know and I can coach you on how to keep costs down...got a buddy in Field BC who rents some nice suites too. I can coach you on Kicking Horse pass backcountry as well as Kananaskis, Ice Fields Pkwy, Vermillion Pass. I will guide you for a tour of Rockies classic Surprise Pass. I was thinking of doing it at night under a full moon...see if your cameras can handle that. UA-cam Surprise Pass...complete hole in the wall access and 2200vert straight fall line down to west end of Lake Louise itself! Epic.
Definitely is, I'd recommend never skiing red. There Definitely isn't tons of powder 5 days after a storm. And you can’t get to the good stuff without boot backing and taking 2 chairs just to boot pack again back like revy. Also, it definitely doesn't have way more quality terrain than revy, like way more. I'd say it's definitely not the best mountain in Canada, don't come here!
Very nice skiing video, I like it. I have subscribed to your channel. We still have snow here in Hemsedal. You are welcome to my channel to take a look. Greetings from Hemsedal, Norway 🇸🇯❄️🏔️
Crazy. I watched this because Red was my home mountain and that was me riding the lift with you at the beginning. Small world.
No way Paul! Thanks for all the tips on the lift, made for an awesome first few laps.
@@riseandalpine glad I could help you
I honestly don’t even remember
I just recognized my skis and bindings
Congrats man your channel is really blowing up

Rippin, rockin, and rollin! Good times on Red Mtn, where I hope to ski next season. Thanks for this intro!
Red is an absolute blast! Are you planning on moving to Rossland?
Sick line through the brambles! What a day! You’ve earned it.
Thanks Steve! It's funny some of the lines you can pull off when the snow is deep and fluffy
Wow, what a great ski run. Never skied red Mountain. Now I want to. Phenomenal.
RED is absolutely amazing. You can check out my review video if you want to learn more. ua-cam.com/video/_9C5a6CfxiA/v-deo.html
All you tourists need to stay on the main runs. We take care of this powder for you.
Another amazing video as always
Thanks king!
Damn that looks awesome!
Red is absolutely thrilling!
You should take a trip to mount baker
Yes Please - I freaking love Baker! Haven't been for ages.. Such a legendary place. Would love a local guide if anyone is up for the task?
@@riseandalpine There is nothing like the canyon/gunner zones on a good day maybe except for the area around the chute!

It's amazing you are still skiing in May
Gotta love the West coast!
your best vid, in my opinion. I'll be in Rossland end of January and Nelson too. Stoked.
Thanks dude. One of my favourites as well. Sick you're gonna be there. Best place ever.
Looks like the 115s are serving quite nicely!
One of my favourite all time skis. A touch heavy on the uphill, but it's totally worth it!
beer belly my favouriterun here, great mountain fr
yesss oil can and mini bowls are also great
rip and tear brother!!! I still reminisce about my trip to Banff in 2020, best powder yet!
Banff seems super sick - did you prefer LL or Sunshine?
Hoping to try them next year.
awesome video as always, hopefully may will still provide
Thanks Jeff! I hope so too - going to ski till it's green!

Dude - so jealous you had a season there. It absolutely rocks. It was like nothing else with a fresh dump!
Yoo this place looks sick! Also good to know lc gets spicier with age. Hype to see how my bottles age before next season lol
Put red on the hit list. Rossland is an awesome little town. The LC ages like fine wine my brother :) :)
Amazing snow, and so late in the season!

I've never had major issues with tree wells, but I've heard many horror stories. Always stay close to your buddies in the trees!
YOU are ripping!!! Killing every line. Way easier said that done..... and you DO IT. Big Fan
Thanks KbW! With hero snow like that you can get away with anything hahaha
Banger
Thanks Luke!
Keep up the good work!
Thanks bro!
@@riseandalpine mountain biking at Red today 😝
Some puckering in the brambles at 10:00 : )
Totally!
Inspiring me for next season
Already stoked for next seasons powder too!
majestic!
an absolute dreamland
Awesome powder😂 what kind of Bindings are you using to walk like that? And the things you put on the bottom of the Skis?.
These are Duke PT 16's. I have pins in my ski boots and you put skins on the bottom which allow you to backcountry ski/use your skis like snow shoes

Too much fun to be had at red! should be illegal :)

Red Mountain in Rossland, BC - such an amazing spot
9:39 what run is that.?
I can't remember tbh. Any red locals able to help this man out?
@@riseandalpine if it is those double diamonds on the backside of one of the peaks then I will probably be able to find them
It's Chute Show on the back of Grey. It's between 6th and 7th that you skied! Crazy :D
