Last movie's ending, Jake opened his eye to embrace a new life, and in this movie's ending, Jake opened his eye to embrace a new purpose.
Fighting for his new home isn't exactly new, he did it in the last movie.
Or Cameron has started to lose it as a writer and he keeps using the same beats in all his most recent films. Avatar 2 covered the same darn ground as the first film.
@@dan_hitchman007 such a great movie
@@dan_hitchman007 Even though you can appreciate his efforts and this extraordinary movie
@@user-xx6vy9ri8p isn't fighting the empire the point of every star wars movie? It's only the second one in the franchise and people are already moaning about this. 🙄 Double standards.
Poor Neytiri. She lost her home, her dad, her son, and her dad’s bow broke. She’s been through enough!!!
Neytiri lost her sister too, if I remember correctly. I hope she gets to experience some happiness again in Avatar 3, because she certainly deserves it.
Tsutey is typing 💬
She also lost her ikran, sezei, in the first movie... She sure has been through enough!!! And when Ronal lost her tulkun spirit sister, you can see the look in Neytiri's eyes, you can see the pain.
Her character is my favorite... neytiri has my heart her emotions held my heart pounding
omg Sezei being shot down ENDED ME....she was the ONLY Ikran that looked like her and she was SO FREAKIN FAST...Neytiri LOVED her she always has her decorated in little accessories here and there
This was by far the longest movie I’ve seen in cinema, and I loved it. Can’t wait for Avatar 3 next year.
Avatar 3 might be longer on Disney + maybe 9 hours
@@noahsawesomevids422 what’s the source for this?
@@RustTheDuck The source is : trust me bro
Jake having to visit his first born son in a memory through awa to see him again is so heartbreaking. He has a small moment of bliss within all the sorrow.
**Eywa
@@mars.3338 thanks Britney
Cried so hard when Neteyam died. He was the first baby and the one who made Jake and Neytiri parents… I don’t think there’s a chance JC will undo such a strong emotional story point. But if Quaritch can come back from the dead, let Neteyam come back too!!! 😂
I did too. I cried my eyes out. And I totally agree with the rest of your comment! ❤JC, Bring back Neteyam 😭
Yes bring Neteyam back 😭😭😭❤💔
I just love how these movies have this dramatic nature documentary vibe to them. I still got those underwater feels with the score playing watching this on digital but seeing it for the first time in IMAX 3D was an absolute experience of its own I won't forget
0:47 _
Funny story for me and my friends.
When we booked tickets for our theater to watch this film, we accidentally reserved a 3D showing.
Turns out, it was super worth it. It absolutely looked legendary on the big screen with the 3D glasses. Enjoyed the film immensely.
where's the funny part
I don't see the funny part im sorry 😂
@@mastixencounterI think cause 3D movies absolutely blow lmao. Headache, the glasses, it’s just not a good experience so I guess the funny part was they accidentally bought it and ended up enjoying it
I was in tears, sobbing, in deep DEVASTATION when I saw them killing the Tulkun spirit sister and the calf (whales) in cinemas. The fact they played the same music from the first movie is so heartbreaking. I just can’t bare humans doing the same mistake like they are doing to Earth right now. Even so for Neteyam’s death 😭😭😭
🤣🤣
I don’t think I have ever cried so much watching a film before. Best movie I have ever seen 💙
so happy i wasn‘t the only one crying. i cried from the moment the tulkun was killed and until the end of the film, my heart broke for neteyam! but most people i heard from were not moved by the movie, i can‘t understand them. great reaction!
Its Tulkun. But pronounced Tookoon
@@SpecklesTeeV thanks :)
🤣🤣
Cameron's heavy use of the word "bro" had me balling like a baby. So heartfelt. So real. So like the 90's.
It's not just "Bro" its a translation from the Na'vi language ! they dont actually speak english in the movie we just hear it as such because in the beginning of the movie Jake said that hes so use to the Na'vi language that it might as well be english.
@@elenadehaan6549 It's a comment on the quality of the script writing... or lack thereof.
@@dan_hitchman007 yes, i wish it would’ve been in the Na’vi language instead of translated the entire movie.
@@elenadehaan6549 Disney execs would never allow a movie to be subtitled all the way through. They even stopped the last Predator movie from being performed in a Native American language.
Why wouldn't brothers call each other that way?
The part where jake's voice cracked while talking to his dying son crushed me
I really liked this sequel, loved the fact that they took their time on the graphics, the storyline, and the character development.
I genuinely thought Neytiri was going to kill spider after she went ballistic and even broke her fathers bow 🤯
Beautiful and moving reaction girls…I really thought that Avatar: The Way Of Water was even better than the first one and I can’t wait for the third one in 2024! Keep up the great work on your reactions! 🐋💦💧🐉💙😭 Also my favorite character was Lo’ak!😊

I was speechless during these 3 hours of movie like the first one the visual deserve triple oscar, my favorite part it's the ending which is similar to the ending of the first movie I hope next movie they will explore more about Ewa, Jake's son death was heartbreaking especially Neitiry voice changed after losing a son 😢I love their children are all special, and the fact that's them heroes because they are discover the essence of the water in this movie was brilliant writing. I SEE YOU 😭
It was great to see you reacting to this movie as quickly as you did when available on streaming. A great way to spend an evening is to watch a 3+ hour reaction with Magy & Laura, and this one was great. Thank you Magy & Laura.
Far more importantly though, I'm glad to see you're feeling better Magy. You should always take time for yourself as you do so much, it was just unfortunate you got sick afterwards. As much as you are missed when not doing reactions, your health and wellbeing always come first for me. It is great to have you back though, as I do love watching your reactions Magy ❤❤
James Cameron planned four sequels to the first Avatar, and now all 4 sequels to the first Avatar are finished and all of them have release dates,
The whole reason why Avatar 2 took so long to come out was because James Cameron was filming Avatar 2, 3, 4, and 5 back to back
i watched this in the cinema 5 times. its so much better in the cinema especially in IMAX and by better(tbh its an understatement word lol) its magical like it feels like a dream where you are part of the film and man it was magical
I whooped in the cinema when Payakan ripped the whalers arm off I was like "hah an arm for a fin!, karma!"
Fun Fact: Sigourney Weaver played her own Na’vi daughter, Kiri!
Quaritch is a great villain. You girls need to know how to appreciate one😂
Why spidey save to colonel (father) ??
@@rockerojerez349 Because Quaritch saved his life. A life for a life. But as far as their relationship goes, Spider has pretty much renounced his father due to his actions.
A very good reaction from You. You are definitely in the group of people who like the Avatar storyline. What is a certain downside of being a creator creating reactions is the loss of certain feelings that accompany watching a movie in the cinema. And seeing Avatar in 3D IMAX is a completely different feeling that cannot be described. Since You enjoyed Avatar 2, I'd love to see Your reaction to Alita: Battle Angel. A film by James Cameron and directed by Robert Rodriguez. I think You will like this movie too.
The 3rd movie is mostly already filmed and comes out in 2024
Thank you for sharing your beautiful reactions! I'm glad you enjoyed the movie, I agree it's very special! I wish Neytiri had more time in it, just a few more minutes... but I understand that it's a movie about the kids for a new generation of viewers.
This is why James Cameron is the greatest Director of blockbuster cinema.....
❤❤❤
it is because beyond the incredible technological demonstration and the grandiose staging,
he
never forgets to emotionally involve the spectator to immerse himself physically and soul in the story and its protagonists.
This is a fact that is also verified in TERMINATOR 2 and TITANIC for example..... ♥️♥️
this movie was a cinematic masterpiece 10/10 for sure
When Scorseby says "Beautiful* i was boutta break my tv
Since I watched the movie I was waiting for this, I also cried like a baby in the cinema but in the end I cried of joy for what I had seen
The Way of Water was the best IMAX experience in my life, this film is gorgeous💙
Death: Now
Quarich: No
I saw it on IMAX 3-D and it blew my mind! 🤯
The new 3-D technology underwater looks 8K crystal clear. It was like nothing I've ever seen before!
Unquestionably the most visually stunning movie ever made, and manages to evoke the same sense of wonder and beauty as the original did when it was released in 2009. Overall I think this might be a step down from the first, as the earlier movie's "stranger in a new setting" plot connected better than the "protecting the family" one here, but it expands the world of Pandora well, manages to be pretty engaging throughout its very long 192 minute runtime without many moments that drag, and the 3D is absolutely breathtaking.
I absolutely enjoyed the second trip to Pandora, and I look forward to revisiting this universe again when the third movie arrives in December 2024.
My theory is Kiri has no traditional father. I suspect we'll learn in one of the later films that Eywa (the All-Mother) impregnated Grace Augustine's avatar when they were connected to the Tree of Souls, in the attempt to save Grace.
I think Kiri is a pure child of Eywa (a sort of Christ parallel), and is therefore deeply connected to all things Eywa.
Seen it 4 times already, i still get emotional
Just got the 4k released on DVD!😎
I'm addicted to the start of your uploads. Makes my day thanks magi
This was excellent! 👍! But I still want to see Laura's reaction to "Back to the Future"!! I think she'd love it just as much as Magy did!! Go girls!!
I love both movies. ❤
When I watched neteyams death I was literally bawling my eyes out I cried for hours 😭
We saw the movie in IMAX 3D and it was awesome 👍😊 I was a bit worried bc the movie is so long, but luckily it was no problem, something was happening all the time.
Thanks for a great reaction video 👍😊😊
There are very few artists who can *truly* take you out of the seats of your theater and put you into a world entirely of their creation, James Cameron is the best of them all.
If Avatar is James Cameron’s Star Wars then The Way Of Water is his Empire Strikes Back. And like Empire and so many other great second parts of sagas Part 2 is where the heroes get their asses kicked and are at their absolute lowest. Jake and Neytiri lose a son, the Metkayina not only lose a few villages but also have their friends the Tulkun (whales) slaughtered, and now the RDA has dug in such a foothold that the war for Pandora will only get bloodier.
I was tearing up within only a few minutes of this film, not because of anything tragic but because of the absolutely breathtaking beauty of Pandora. I was also tearing up because when the first movie came out, I took my mom who was 60 at the time it came out in theaters, she was so entranced by the movie at times I could see from the corner of my eye her trying to grab the tree seeds floating towards her. It’s one of my favorite memories. She sadly passed away seven years ago, but I know she would’ve loved this movie, even more because she was a champion swimmer who loved the water with all her heart. And so with all my heart, I thank you, James Cameron for creating yet another masterpiece of a film.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Nah, first movie was way better. Way more character development, story progression and world building. This is just a setup for a third one.

As of 5 February 2023, Avatar 2 is the third highest grossing film of all time 😊❤❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊
I went to go see this movie in the theatres and I was supposed to see it with a friend, but my friend didn’t show up. Guess where he was. He was out Christmas shopping with his mum even though we had talked the night before about meeting up
It was so great to watch it!
It is a crime not to see this movie in 3D. You deserve a divine punishment!!
This was one spectacular movie and your reaction to it was no less magneficent, a rollecoaster of emotions.
Jake's character development was particularly satisfying to see, adding a paternal element to him, in addition to his fighting spirit from the first movie. It shows how much he cares about his family, his people, wanting to keep them safe and at the same time thinking about the water na'vi too, warning them about going against the humans and what dire repercussions it could have for them.
The focus on family, family bonds is beautiful and tastefully touched uponm showing how the death of Neteyam galvanized them Sullys and Jake in particular, they have to make a stand, even a final stand and stop the human invaders from destroying more of Pandora.
Words won't do justice to just how incredible the visuals and audio is for this movie, like you pointed out, it feels better than what we can see with our own eyes in reality.
Thank you for the wonderful reaction, it's been a pleasure watchin it ❤
"And they still don't think they're doing anything wrong"
Pandora is the Brazilian rainforest, Pandora is Central Africa, Pandora is Afghanistan, Pandora is whaling fleets, Pandora is any country with lithium deposits ready for us to swoop in.
James Cameron is very explicitly saying that the Sky People are us, the colonizers and extractors of the global south.
I really love your reactions. 🥰
best movie! 💕 i have no words for how much i love it
Miles really pissed me off at the end of the movie. After all Sully’s family did for him over the years and then for him to backstab them by his action like that made me furious, especially when he then goes back to them and says nothing about his betrayal and they think they are done dealing with that man once and for all.
They left him with the RDA where they tortured him, the Sullys betrayed him first
@@nelcruz2443 so why did he go back to the Sullys?
@@ixchel9155 Because he knew he was better off with the Sullys on top of being disgusted by his father's actions.
@@FrostbiteDigital But not disgusted enough by his father after seeing all the deaths and destruction he caused to let him die and then save him while he returns to the Sully’s after betraying them. So again this madman will return to cause more death and destruction.
@@jimbessett2392 This is an essay so you don´t have to read it 😀, but it is another point of view if you are interested:
First remember, we are talking about a child here. Spider has never belonged anywhere, not with the Navi (Jake called him a stray and Neytiri hated him). But he also does not belong with the humans (he feels more in tune with the Navi way of life and he Is the only human child on an entire planet, so that probably made him gravitate more towards other children there - Navi children). Also, since both of his parents are dead, he really do lack a family, he is an orphan, not fully accepted anywhere.
I see Spider as a child that wants nothing more than a real family, to belong somewhere. But when he gets captured, he is straight up abandoned by the Sully's, they really "packed up and changed area code" - Jake would never have done that to a "real" son. That probably hurt yet he never blamed Jake. Then he was tortured by humans (the machine could literally read his thoughts, so if he had done as little as a quick thought about the Navi, he could have given up important information, yet he withstood that torture). This is the first time Quaritch saves Miles, he gets him to "tag along" to take him away from the torture at the lab. He then spends months together with his father and visibly grows closer to him, he starts to feel that he belongs somewhere. Also remember, Spider never saw what Quaritch did 15 years earlier, only heard stories, which probably helped him bond with his father. But he did see what Neytiri was capable of, and is frightened by her the entire movie.
At the start of his "tag along", he mostly sees the positive sides of Quaritch, but when they get to the Metkayina, he starts to grow conflicted, apologizing to the tribe for the Avatars abuse, then questioning the unnecessary killings of the Tulkuns. And eventually he pretty much disarms an entire ship (I think that will play a bigger part in the uncut version, since we really don't follow the rest of the Metkayina in the end fight - they come along with Jake but we never see them again until the funeral at the end of the movie. But the ship being out of order probably helped in the fight).
Next time Quaritch saves Miles is from Neytiri (she really would have killed Spider if necessary, or as a revenge if Quaritch had hurt Kiri). In the end, when Spider sees his father drowning, he is very conflicted about saving him but eventually does so anyways. Probably because he was saved twice by his father and he probably still did feel that familiar bond. But in the end we also see that he has lost all his respect for his father.
Lastly, knowing James Cameron, I also think that what he sees in Miles "Spider" Soccoro, is a boy that chooses to save a life instead of taking one.
What I find interesting is that the Na'vi are humanity at its best and the humans are humanity at its worst.
Nominated for 4 Oscars including Best Picture but won for Best Visual Effects. It's still the highest grossing movie of the year, $2.3 billion dollars.
Visually spectacular

Just Watch it Last Night Great Movie
Здравствуйте! Мне понравился реакция на фильм,но если честно то понравилась девушка в с левой стороны которая одета в белом и в джинсах
Humanity's involvement on Pandora is a lot more complex than you actually think. Restoring Earth is a lost cause because of how much of it is destroyed by overpopulation and a mass energy crisis, and they can't settle on Mars because it's still hasn't really undergone terraforming (which would take thousands of years and by then humankind would've probably all died out). Hence why the colonization efforts are focused on Pandora because it's the better option really. Now the movie does indeed portray the RDA as cartoonishly evil as possible, but in reality it's really not that simple. Also consider that Jake more or less was asking for this because he pissed off both the RDA and the Earth Government, with their defeat in the first movie and it was no surprise they came back with hard vengeance.
Yes he's the hero and he stopped them from destroying any more sacred sites, but he still betrayed them and doomed the Na'vi race and the planet to destruction, as evident in the landing scene. Unobtanium was crucial to mankind's survival after all. And pushing back a mere mining colony that was carrying Earth's efforts of survival was probably not the best idea, especially when he should've known they'd come back in greater numbers and in full force. Humanity has no other options left, it's make or break, live or die. And so the RDA is spearheading this new war.
(Although in saying that, I wished they were portrayed with more depth in terms of morality on-screen. They're supposed to be the main villains yes, but villain factions are better when they're given more depth and not just doing the most evil things imaginable just because they're evil)
Is that mehndi on magys hand
