      Jedhead. BvS:UE was actually an origin story to dc's team the justice league of america. Notice 4 other jla team members appear with Superman and Batman. Bruce Wayne had a dream or vision of the distant future when apokalips tyrant Darkseid invades earth. Thsy show the parademons, branded Omega symbol in the ground and fiery geysers burning in the sky. This was a hellish reflection of Darkseid's homeworld of apokalips.

    I know it's very much a matter of taste/preference, but I love the way Zack Snyder makes his movies. The respect he has for the source material as well as the actors he works with it something you don't see every day. The way Wonder Woman jumps into the fight at @41:05 is probably my favorite scene in the whole trilogy.

    The Zack Snyder Trilogy of Man of Steel, Dawn of Justice, and Justice League also includes a 'pit stop' between 'Dawn' and 'Justice' via Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad.
    WW covers her origins, and links in strongly to some of the things she does in JL. It also has a post credit scene which hints towards JL.
    SS was butchered by the studio after the (literally last minute) cut down of BvS for the theatres proved to be bad for reviews and business, naturally leading to the executives who did said cut to repeat the same mistake as the only logical conclusion (yeah, go figure). As a result it only touches on the effect of Superman's death on the world, and the fact that the Meta-human Thesis is clearly not only true, but also well known amongst certain government agencies.
    We still await the 'Ayer Cut', which is said to include further detail on Steppenwolf (the creature seen in the kryptonian ship's 3d display Lex was looking at) and his intent to invade Earth- which, of course, is the primary plot point of JL.
    After that, the DC films start diverging further and further away from Zack's vision, as Warner Bros believed this was what the public wanted. Effectively, there was a civil war within Warner Bros over the direction the films should take, and most of the failures that occurred with their films can be put down to the two sides interfering with what the directors and writers actually wanted to do.

    The Capitol scene is such a huge-gasp moment. I still remember how the theater sounded when that moment happened.
    Also, we can see how this movie is so great when you have people that don't know much from the comics with not many expectations on the story elements or know that if Doomsday was gonna appear, then Superman would die. It comes as a big shock and a very sad moment when that happens. Simply a phenomenal film.
    Wonder Woman and ZSJL are gonna be just great!!

    Something they dont really touch on in the movies and shows is that supermans disguise isn't just the glasses, because he is so strong he actually makes his persona clark kent shorter, he compacts his spine i think 5-6 inches and he also contorts his face by just flexing the muscles in his face.

    • @kouroshnahid4299
      @kouroshnahid4299 8 місяців тому +5

      Also Clark's disguise makes sense in the fact that NOBODY would ever expect Superman, this all powerful being, to work in a claustrophobic and noisy office environment.

    • @Heroinexoxo
      @Heroinexoxo 8 місяців тому

      Yeah.
      I believe studies have been done to show that a person larger than life, using the most mundane and basic disguises, can fool just about anybody.
      Mostly because extremely rich people, politicians or even top-level CEO's are not what you'd expect to see in somewhat of a 'basic' attire.
      So wearing glasses, baggy (Poor looking) clothing can typically get the job done pretty well as a disguise.
      Let alone if we had something like a "Superman" would you EVER expect THEM to be a clumsy, nerd who kind of bumbles about.
      Though, it also wouldn't be IMPOSSIBLE to pick up on these things, either. Just very unsuspecting.

    The best way to enjoy Snyderverse is when you go in blind, with no expectations. It's also important that you're not a comic book elitist. Meaning you can accept changes and understand that this is an adaptation. Some people rejected this universe because they already had their own idea of these characters and refused to accept a different take to them. It doesn't help that the theatrical version of *BvS* basically butchered the movie. The *Ultimate Edition* is where its heart at. Thanks for the reaction~

    • @azathoth528
      @azathoth528 8 місяців тому +8

      The main problem that most people don't seem to understand is that these are characters over 70 or 80 years old, there have been countless writers behind them who made their own versions to create original stories, which is the reason there will never be a 'perfect' adaptation, and I will always respect Snyder for at least trying to put his own vision into these movies instead of copypasting the mcu like warner wants

    • @barbaciante
      @barbaciante 8 місяців тому +1

      But why do those people accept other versions of these characters that still have liberties compared to the source materials? Perhaps Snyder has not only changed some aspects, but he has actually betrayed some fundamental elements.
      However, I think this is not the real reason.
      Snyder's films have important limitations. These limitations (or errors) justify the bad reactions the films have received. I say this even though I really liked them. But I understand why they failed.

      Bro literaly all the super heroe movíes change all about the cómics. The people who says BvS is bad in a Dc cómics perspective, all are stupids because in other movies acept all the changes in the history and characters.

      UCM don't is Marvel cómics
      The Batman not's Batman Years 1

      @@barbacianteI dont think you understand the fault of tbe Snyder movíes when you says the first problem is the history. • @barbaciante
      @barbaciante 8 місяців тому +1

      @@CarlosDDiaz-dt4yg I have issues understanding your last sentece. I think you're mean that after Snyder quitted DC, things got worse even with some good reviews. And these are the consequences of Snyder's films. Did I undertood?
      Anyway, I din't want to say that the story is the problem of Zack Snyder. The story was good, interesting. The problem was the execution. On that, I add the fact that the heavyness of the tone worked as an highlighter to the weak points of his job.
      Another element that I never see debated, when people talk about Snyder DC movies, is the lineup of the scenes. Theese films have a too massive concentration of heavy action that tires the viewers.
      And yes, after Snyder just a few DC movies didn't flopped. But this isn't all Snyder's fault. Producers could have corrected things, but they didn't, making other damages.
      Today DC status is a sum of Snyder films and post-Snyder films.

    I missed this in theaters unfortunately. But it meant that my first viewing was the Ultimate Edition, which just blew me away. Such a dark, adult themed, REALISTIC world. And Zach Snyder makes these “comic book” movies with such attention to every frame it’s like a graphic novel in motion.
    After my first viewing I had to find out why this movie received so much criticism. Watching the theatrical release next, it left out some VERY important plot points. But that’s what happens to movies when the studio gets involved. (Watch the Director’s cut of Kingdom of Heaven vs the theatrical release, they cut out an hour!)
    The only other criticism I could find was the whole “Martha” thing. “They both have a mother named Martha, end of fight, how stupid.”
    No! Lois saying “its his mothers name!” Just gets his attention. This whole movie follows Batman’s perception of Superman. To him he’s this all-powerful alien that is a threat to the human race. All he knows of Superman is the destruction he left fighting other aliens. He didn’t watch Man of Steel, he doesn’t know his back story like we do. When he hears his Mother’s name is Martha it immediately humanizes him. Suddenly Batman realizes this “dangerous all-powerful alien” has a human mother.
    That was what went through my head when she said “it’s his mother’s name!” And nobody with these criticisms about the Martha scene mention this. Nor do any of the reactors that watch it. I feel like I’m the only one who made that connection.

Michael Keaton killed in his movie. Christian bale killed in his movies. But the complaint on this one. Smh alot of people made fun of the Martha thing. When they showed in the sneak previews the monster (Doomsday) I knew Superman was going to die at the end.
    Doomsday was the monster in the comics series "The death of Superman". In the 90s, comics sales were way down and Superman was at one of the lowest sales points of the time, with Superman being invulnerable, there were only so many stories they could make where someone was about to discover his secret identity, or someone kidnapped Lois Lane.
    The uproar the comic caused, "how dare day to kill Superman", that it became one of the best selling comics and the industry of the comic experienced a new boom.
    So, basically what I'm trying to say, they are recreating a comic and when saying "he is dead for a reason", at the time it was an economic reason.

    Great video as always! I cried (again) when Doomsday killed Superman. I hope you and Laura watch Zack Snyder's Justice League (4 hour movie) instead of Joss Whedon's version of Justice League. The Snyder Cut (as it is called) is a masterpiece!

    Regardless of what anyone thinks of the DCEU. It brought us Worlds Finest, DC Trinity and the Justice League. It gave us Michael Keaton back as Batman. These are the positive things this Universe did, oh yes it did give us Wonder Woman.

    Thank you very much for this video. This incredible film, which was undeservedly criticized by the “critics,” was very pleasant to watch with you.
    Yes, it would be better to get acquainted with the film Wonder Woman BEFORE watching Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021), then you will be more comfortable watching the team-up film.
    P.S. I also recommend watching BEFORE Zack Snyder's Justice League.... Suicide Squad (2016), where the events unfold AFTER Batman vs. Superman, BUT BEFORE Justice League.
    It would be absolutely amazing and you would experience an incredible experience.

  • @wildhunt6350

    There is so much more to Superman then they show here. The reason he can see his father and talk to him is that his sight is so powerful he can see in other dimensions. The glasses story and the simple "disguise" have much more to them too. The glasses change his eye color when you look at them for example Sups in the comics has blue eyes if you look at him he has black eyes. The glasses are made from his ship the one he came to Earth. Also Clark took acting lessons and he changes his body position when he is Clark and when he is Superman.
    Also spoilers: Sups is not dead he is in a so called kryptonian coma also a comics fact if you will, Superman can't be killed while he is on Earth.

    42:55 I don't understand why Superman's sacrifice was necessary, here.
    I mean, the idea was to impale the monster with the Kryptonite spear. Superman was able to do this because he's super _strong_ and able to _fly._ But it's a sacrifice, because Kryptonite is his _weakness._
    Meanwhile, _Wonder_ Woman is right there. She's _also_ super strong. She's _also_ able to fly. But Kryptonite does not weaken _her._ I'm fairly certain Superman and _Batman_ could handle the lasso if it was necessary, so why not have _Wonder_ Woman kill this thing?

    • @JohnWilson-zh3il
      @JohnWilson-zh3il 3 місяці тому

      Time was slowed down for the film. Wonder Woman didn’t know about the spear specifically so she couldn’t go get it, she’s also the only experienced close quarters combatant that could take a hit, so she was distracting Doomsday to give Superman time. Plus there was no way Superman could throw her the spear, she drop the rope and grab the spear, then he grab the rope while she stabs the monster. Remember they only started fighting together about half an hour ago, so they haven’t worked out a team dynamic.

    I honestly didn't expect you to have the reaction you had to it. I don't know. I just didn't think you would like it that much. Laura's reaction to the nuclear missile at Superman....
    I really like the movie. Maybe in my top 20. It's a good movie but there were lots of problems with the story and action. Lots of people didn't like the movie. I totally understand.
    But the great scenes were really great. Especially when Wonder Woman showed up. She stole that whole entire scene. She was AMAZING... Not just a girl-power thing but a true super hero.

    Awesome reaction. Please watch Zach Snyders Justice League and avoid the theatrical release. My only criticism: back when this came out, they showed the Wonder Woman battle reveal in the trailers. For such an epic debut scene, they really shouldn’t have spoiled it and saved it for the movie.
