I kinda find it funny how so many people believed quaritch didn’t care about spider but there’s many times he’s shown that he does throughout the whole movie, even in the beginning when he saved him from the torture brain scan machine.
Yeah, he literally saved the kid twice, hung around with him for 3 months keeping him safe so he didn't get sent back and then saved him AGAIN. Spider owed him a MAJOR debt and the least he could do was at least return it once. Problem is, Quaritch didn't realise that he was very, very close to being left there. Spider had already pulled an unarmed man's mask off and left him to die earlier, he was very capable of doing that. Quaritch actually smiled a little after saying "Son", he thought Spider had shown that he loved him back, that he was forgiven and thought it was safe to call him that. But it wasn't. Spider was just repaying that debt. Gets even worse when you actually watch the scenes in the villages back, especially the second one. Both Wainfleet and Quaritch are uncomfortable with Spider being there and hate that he has to see. Because the moment they send him away, his alternate use as an interpreter wouldn't be an excuse anymore. Spider would be sent straight back to the brain scanner. So for Quaritch it's either have Spider see him hurt people and destroy their relationship and it take longer to find Jake, or Spider dies and he has to watch.
Those ships are perhaps the most accurate fictional spaceships ever. Cameron wrote like ten pages on them that are unfortunately not available to read, but the details from the movie and concept art are breathtaking. They may look unorthodox as you said, but actually this is what a realistic interstellar ship would look like. Any such ship would have the majority of its size and mass dedicated to it's engines, fuel tanks and the radiators to cool the ship. The last part is something that is missing from most other fictional spaceships, even accurate ones like those in the Expanse or the Discovery from 2001: A Space Odyssey. In space you can't get rid of hit with conduction or convection, only radiation remains. So any ship would need large radiators to radiate the heat away, and in the case of this ship with its matter/anti-matter engines, huge ones. Furthermore it makes sense to put the engines in front and have the other parts being pulled by it (in this scene the ship have reversed themselves to decelerate) as a tensile structure saves mass. Finally, it's very logical to have the nuzzles of the ship point slightly angled from each other, that exhaust is perhaps 10,000 degrees hot and can destroy the ship. That way the exhaust doesn't touch the ship while the engines are still protected from impact behind the shield.
Yeah, he seems to get quite deep into world building. I watched a short documentary on the music of the first one, and they did amazing research and made much more different tribal music...and they didn't put 95% of it in the movie, because they decided it's too strange for a wide audience. After the buildup throughout the whole documentary, seeing the depth at which they went, to just scrap it all in the end, I couldn't help but just go "wait...wtf? Noooooo!" .

As someone who’s become an “ocean activist” over the years- this movie really hit me in the feels. Marineland in Niagara Falls, Canada is just a 30 minute ride from my home- I’ve watched humans commit all kinds of atrocities upon marine life irl my entire life, and I’ve tried to open so many people’s eyes around me, to discourage them from giving establishments like Marineland another cent. To stop these kinds of things from happening to animals that are proven to be more intellectual than us. I applaud James for bringing awareness to an issue that is so real (and so alarmingly ignored) in todays world. I appreciate him so much for that.
9:07 Those aren't just your normal chemical powered rocket engines, those are matter-antimatter engines which are still only theoretically possible, but the most powerful and efficient ones out there. By that, I mean that when you take antimatter and combine them with normal matter (that we are made of) the entire mass of those two particles gets converted to energy (literally 100% mass to energy) which leads to those particles to be annihilated. So that means that the annihilation of half a kilogramm of antimatter with half a kilogram of matter could produce an explosion with 17 kilotons of TNT-equivalent (for comparison: the Hiroshima bombs explosion power had 21 kilotons of TNT).
We waited a long ass 13 years for this, and it was worth every single second of the wait. I’m so upset I didn’t get to see this in theatres in its full grandeur but there’s no WAY (of water..) I’m missing the NEXT one 😭

“How do you direct something like this” James Cameron is just THAT guy like he showed us many times that he can make the impossible possible. Earth can be dying with all that technology because apparently we never learned our lesson. If we put money into clean energy instead of tech to kill one another, we could have our own paradise. But if we keep going as we are, Earth won't be habitable by 2170, which is when this movie is set, or within a couple years of that.
U guys misunderstood a few things, including saying Jake brought the humans hunting Tokunn(Ronal's spirit sister & her calf), when we already know from Payakan's story, that they were hunting Tokunn way before Jake left his forest people. All the NaVi people need to band together to fight the humans. I believe Kiri, the daughter of Ewya will be a key player, who plays a very important role. I truly loved this movie and hope they release the 9 hour version, because I'd love this movie to be longer. Even though it also broke my heart with Neteyam & especially the ending scene with him and his parents. 🥺😢😭💔
@@HTMN161 Jakes wrong though, since they were hunting Tokunn way before Jake moved. Payakann & his family were hunted in a different area. The humans explained that all their work is now paid for with the stuff they get from the Tokunns brain unfortunately
18:29 There was deleted scene from the last movie where Norm and Trudy were doing "the thing". So the theory about Norm and Grace having a relationship is out of the question, and more likely is that Kiri is the daughter of Eywa.
I appreciate that you are able to be emotionally invested in the story and characters.❤ It makes for a more compelling and intense experience. Keep having fun.😊
That would be foolish. Pandora is a harsh world, especially for a human being. If Spider went out on his own, he risks getting eaten alive by a Thanator or getting killed by random Na'Vi, who will view him as one of the sky people. Besides, his father treated him well. He saved him from mental torture, tried to save him from savagery, and the Pandoran jungle. All things considered, Quaritch is a pretty good dad.
*By the way the only reason why kiri has spiritual abilities is because she had a deep connection to mother Eywa and I think grace was connected to mother eyes also so they’d why kiri is connected*
A little clarification about the Grace‘s Avatar situation: The Avatar Body has somewhat of conscience, just enough for the brain to make the heart beat and the lungs work, they just are in a somewhat comatose state if they aren’t linked to their „drivers“. We see it when Jake first sees his Avatar and it’s twitching inside the tank. The brain is active, reflexes are working, it just needs another conscience to move. It’s kind of a sad thought, to me at least. Would the Avatars, under different circumstances, have their own personalities and be a total independent and sentient being, hadn’t scientists interfered? Like somewhere in that brain exists a person, it’s just shut out.
Love your reactions! With regards to Grace's daughter.. If you remember in the first movie.. They tried asking Eywa to save her life... It was too late for her... But a life was still granted.. as her daughter.. It was never confirmed in the movie... just how I interpreted it.
I love that you guys loved this movie! I was a fan of the OG film so this was well worth the wait, and I'm so happy that it is a planned-out franchise of films. My favorite characters are Quaritch, Kiri, Spider, and Tuk, but I honestly love all the characters. I do agree, Quaritch's second-in-command, Lyle Wainfleet, has got to still be alive - he got the most screentime and dialogue out of the other Recoms and we didn't see him get killed outright. Mansk may still be alive too since we only see Jake yeet a human at his face.
If you get a chance to see this in 3D, in a theater, like if they rescreen these before the 3rd film.. its worth it. Cameron shoots these to be experienced in 3D.
Remember, this is a moon this is happening on.........we haven't even seen anything on the planet in the background yet. Movie #3 is done filming and in the can, ready for the magic, and #4 is already shooting scenes.
it takes 6 years to travel from earth toi pandora so this was them rushing back since it been like 16 years at most since their oldest son is 15 after the year time skip they went back spent 3 yearss preparing then sent a second attack to pandora
I absolutely luved this sequel! enjoyed the content on both channels thus far and cnt wait for another new upload! tbh, i bawled my eyes out soo hard towards the end.... imo its so close to what goes on to our own earth, like we cant just sit bck and admire these amazing creatures from the sea, animals that just wanna be left alone. i really enjoyed the first movie as well and this sequel totally outdid the first one but i digress lolz!
Avatar and Avatar: TWoW were and always will be my top 5 favourite movies of all time. When Avatar came out in 2009, I was 6 years old and you can only imagine how a 6 year old would react and think when they watch a movie such as Avatar for the first time in Cinemas, I used to always wished that the Na'vi existed and that I wanted to be one of them. Great masterpiece of a movie.
Seeing the first in image 2 months before this... There is an INSANE improvement in visuals. It's a shame but I think viewing these movies in anything but IMAX removes such a huge part of what makes it great which isn't the best but it truly is so much better looking than the first in so many ways.
But spider is not like the Sky people and she should know it, she thinks that every human is evil but thats not true and she is Married and have friends who are humans, why with spider is different? Just because his father is miles?
If you think this looks just like the first please look at the first and second one at the same time it is 3 times better! The first one is great though . Enjoyed your reaction!
pilot girl no they were going to but the actress refused she stated too many films bring her back from the dead and it feels like she is almost being type cast to come back from the dead at this point plus she feels her character died a martyre and it destroy the point of her death
a really cool fact about the movie, During production Kate Winslet who plays Ronal, held her breath under water for seven minutes and 15 seconds breaking Tom Cruises world record.
One of the best reviews/reactions to this amazing movie that I’ve seen. And thank you for your real emotions, Justin. The gravity of losing a child should move everyone but not everyone will show emotions over it. I was just as moved at the story of the Tulkun, especially since our own real life sentient beings - the whales on Earth, are still being slaughtered by countries like Iceland and Norway, with Japan being by far the worst culprits - all to drum up an industry the rest of the world has no interest in.
20:22 Good question. The truth is it doesn't make sense that Earth in Avatar universe would be having any resource shortage with the technology that is shown in the movies. Nor do Earth needed to colonise Pandora at all.
perhaps they got the technology too late. at some point, the damage that is done to something, nature especially, is irreversible. consider some animals that have gone extinct, even after strong efforts to save them, because they were just too far gone to save. or a very old house that is severely damaged and crumbling, at that point trying to fix it up would be counterproductive and a waste of time, energy, and money, when it would cost less in the long-run to just buy a newer house that has no issues you need to fix. we all know governments are about cutting costs--for themselves not people as a whole--and taking the easiest, most profitable route. not surprising they would consider using new technology to wipe out the indigenous population on another planet and take over there (something that they've done many times over and has always worked in earth's history), rather than trying to fix their mess on earth. it honestly makes perfect sense that our arrogant, self-important race would use the newfound technology to focus on temporarily prolonging peoples' lives on earth while primarily using it to search for and colonize a new home planet. 🤷
@@MonAhgasInsomniAroELF No, I'm talking about the alleged resource shortage that made the humans came to Pandora in the first film. Such problems should not existed based on the technological level that the humans have here. Even the colonisation of Pandora in the second movie made zero sense. Nothing about Pandora from its gravity and to atmospheric composition is suitable for human. It would be more feasible to construct O'neill Cylinders than to land on Pandora .
Agreed, one of the many plot holes within this film. It's still a good movie, but it has a few issues such as this one. In reality, if we humans had that level of technology we'd be colonizing Pandora more out of greed than desperation.
@@Sam_Guevenne I'm a science and tech nerd so I understand the impact of some proposed technologies. This is also why I know Thanos' motive and plan doesn't make sense.
the crazy thing about avatar is, even after just the first movie coming out, they already had planed to make up to the 5th movie in the series, so yea already 4 sequels were planed so far in advance lol
You guys should watch this in imax 3d & dolby atmos 3d. This thing was a visual perfection especially the 3d is out of this world. Didn't like the story as much as you guys did but I'm not a parent so there's that. Also you guys pointed out some great points. Like how miles was looking at the controls. Also they didn't animate water they animated everything around it. Watch the bts it's epic af too. Also it's weta studios (same guys who did alita the battle angel watch that too good of a movie) so ofc the graphics gonna be outta this world.
10:29 In order to give you some hope, the human part of the Avatar so far really doesn't make much sense. If a civilization has so much energy to accelerate a probably multi-thousand ton spaceship to 70% the speed of light and do it many times on a regular basis, the energy available to them would be so huge and have to be from sources so vast, like direct power collecting from the sun and fusion, that they wouldn't be having and every crisis. Also such civilization would already have access to all resources in the solar system, asteroids in particular. They would also have access to so many tech to tackle things like climate change and especially with Bio-tech and genetics so advanced. And finally, it's very unlikely that a single mineral would be only available on one planet. In reality, the room temperature superconductor, Unobtainium should be found on all over that Star system.
Ngl, I love this film bc of the culture it’s shows bc it’s heavily influenced by Polynesian culture. We’re HEAVY ON FAMILY, it showcased throughout the film that family is the most important thing wether you on good or bad terms. They all RODE for each other the entire time.

This movie is really awesome, can't wait for the final three sequels (or final five, J.C. saind in an Interview there are enough ideas for a 6th and 7th movie). 1:02:38, I say sometimes at self "What the Frick..." too, but I have never heard someone on me around say this, in an other video or from the Song with that Title before, now I'm a little scared
Loved this movie so much as well as your reaction ❤️ about the tulkun and the fact they speaks and understand navi, it was discovered sperm whales can actually speak to each other, and scientists are trying to find ways to understand their language 😉 just for the facts and because I personally find this totally awesome 🐳
If all of these sequels are going to have the same bad guy in them its gonna get old pretty quickly😛Other than that its a great movie with stunning visuals🙂
pretty sure either in the next one or the one after that the bad guys are going to be a rival Na'vi clan. it was either officially confirmed or heavily suspected from other information we've gotten about the sequels. which imo is the right direction to take. we've had two full movies of humans being the bad guys, it's time to see some bad Na'vi, because there's no doubt they would exist too. i'm pretty positive quaritch will be in the second, but my guess is he's going to either integrate with the bad Na'vi and continue to be bad until he finally dies for good, or he'll get some kind of semi redemption arc before dying for good. but i doubt he'll be the bad guy for all of the like 7 or 9 sequels (however many cameron is planning), that would really ruin the series imo. my guess is quaritch's second who it seems may have survived--wayfleet or whatever his name was--will become the next main baddie for the series if one of the characters from the bad Na'vi clan doesn't take that spot.
You should read Ready Player Two. I won't spoil it but I'll say there are some crazy concepts it sounds like you would like based on some of your comments here.
God I hear comments about how good the effects were for films from 20+ years ago with shock all the time. I’m not sure why but it really gets on my nerves! Aside a few specific techniques it’s simply been the processing power they could afford that defined effect efficacy. And there are many 90’s films that hold up very well even if the CGI isn’t quite there. There was a Final Fantasy film done in 2002 (or around then) where they went for real world in CGI (including people). Now the people aren’t quite right and you could see that then too) but it was impressive - the main characters hair apparently cost 2mUSD alone. Anyway I guess it’s just people assuming everything was primitive before they came along like I’m sure every generation does. The CGI from 93 in Jurassic Park still stands up fine 30 years later - faces of real humans are the last frontier I guess that still hasn’t been achieved because our brains are evolved to scrutinize facial detail so it’s a tough ask to trick the human brain an artificial face is real. It’s not so much the processing power for that but the programming and technical aspects because getting the imperfections right is what makes it work.
I'd like to recommend movie called "Bulworth" from 1998, that unfortunately is quite unknown due to lack of proper promotion when it was released, but possibly one of the best movies I ever seen. It's extremely smart political satire, comedy written and starred by Warren Beatty, another main role is played by Halle Berry. Would be amazing if you would react to it, it's truly a hidden gem of cinema! I would love to tell you more about it, but don't want to spoil anything ;)
Will we be seeing any more fast and furious or have you guys decided not to Co to he with it, I only ask as its been a while but you guys did seem pretty invested in the characters plus the next one is brilliant
I havent watched the whole thing yet, but I had to say something abt the comment that it doesnt look that much different. I think thats really false. But I understand it doesnt look like that on the compressed version on streaming. On the theater version especially the first one, you could really see the difference, it was photo realistic and the 3D so good you forgot you watched CG it was simply amazing! (first one was too for its time but this was surely another level). Ahh i love this movie so much, Im glad you watch it but I feel bad for you for not giving it a watch in Theaters first. :/

Earth can be dying with all that technology because apparently we never learned our lesson. If we put money into clean energy instead of tech to kill one another, we could have our own paradise. But if we keep going as we are, Earth won't be habitable by 2170, which is when this movie is set, or within a couple years of that.
45:57 that jump scare got EVERYONE in the theater 🤣
U guys misunderstood a few things, including saying Jake brought the humans hunting Tokunn(Ronal's spirit sister & her calf), when we already know from Payakan's story, that they were hunting Tokunn way before Jake left his forest people. All the NaVi people need to band together to fight the humans. I believe Kiri, the daughter of Ewya will be a key player, who plays a very important role.
I truly loved this movie and hope they release the 9 hour version, because I'd love this movie to be longer. Even though it also broke my heart with Neteyam & especially the ending scene with him and his parents. 🥺😢😭💔
*Tulkun
@@MacCheekz1990 Thanks lol
No jake meant that the only reason their tulkun are suddenly being hunted and planted with trackers is because they’re looking for Jake
"The thing" - how quaint! 🤣
i like how you apparently didnt watch avatar 1 that long ago, yet you couldnt remember half of what happened in the movie 😂
The scene at 56:20, someone in the theater audibly went 'bro that is NOT the way of the water!'
I appreciate that you are able to be emotionally
invested in the story and characters.❤ It makes for a more compelling and intense experience. Keep having fun.😊
It was incredible in -IMAX- Dolby Cinema 3D. I've seen it seven times, including in *Real* IMAX, but in Dolby Cinema, it was absolutely breathtaking.
Spider shouldve run off on his own. If i was him, theres no way i would want to be around Quaritch or Neytiri
True but he will run out of oxygen quickly
@@jjminn95 We have no idea how long those masks go. But I see your point
@@LukeLovesRose true but he wouldn’t have anywhere to go without putting the villages in danger if he finds one
That’s*
Quartich got reborn into a avatar if y’all are wondering
No shit, sherlock.
A little clarification about the Grace‘s Avatar situation:
The Avatar Body has somewhat of conscience, just enough for the brain to make the heart beat and the lungs work, they just are in a somewhat comatose state if they aren’t linked to their „drivers“.
Is that it’s beautiful and thank goodness we don’t have to wait a decade for the next one 😭
Oh my god!! Let me prepare pop corns and my napkins next to me. 😆🤗🤗
Remember, this is a moon this is happening on.........we haven't even seen anything on the planet in the background yet. Movie #3 is done filming and in the can, ready for the magic, and #4 is already shooting scenes.
The planet is a gas giant - as likely to have anything on it as Saturn or Jupiter.
20:22 You know, in real life the more technology evolves the more the nature dies.
it takes 6 years to travel from earth toi pandora so this was them rushing back since it been like 16 years at most since their oldest son is 15 after the year time skip they went back spent 3 yearss preparing then sent a second attack to pandora
Yes, do yourselves a favor and see it in a theater in 3D if it's still showing near you.
I watch this 4 times. Its my fav movie.
Netiyiri has a valid reason for her worries for Spider, Sky People murdered her people, her older sister and her father. i dont blame her
But spider is not like the Sky people and she should know it, she thinks that every human is evil but thats not true and she is Married and have friends who are humans, why with spider is different? Just because his father is miles?
If you think this looks just like the first please look at the first and second one at the same time it is 3 times better! The first one is great though . Enjoyed your reaction!
I got to see this in IMAX and I will see every Avatar sequel in IMAX from now on lol
pilot girl no they were going to but the actress refused she stated too many films bring her back from the dead and it feels like she is almost being type cast to come back from the dead at this point plus she feels her character died a martyre and it destroy the point of her death
I'll see you guys again in at least two years.
LET THE TEARS FLOW
that netyum part got me...that fishing one..ma man..that was hard af
a really cool fact about the movie, During production Kate Winslet who plays Ronal, held her breath under water for seven minutes and 15 seconds breaking Tom Cruises world record.
9:20 Those ships are 1,646 meters (5400 feet). The landing section is supposedly 176 meters (577 feet)
We've done stuff like this to our own planet, we would definitely do this to another planet. SpaceX is no different.
I’m not gonna lie, the scene where they can see their son’s spirit…..😭😭
Jake is Toruk Makto. He could unite ALL of the Navi against the Sky People. That is a problem
I think that role will fall to his kids especially Kiri since she is pretty much Na’vi Jesus.
Everytime theres a intense moment:Justin 😰
I saw it in imax 3D and it was definitely a different experience
I’m so happy you guys are reacting to this!!!!
@@remliqa How do you know that?
I saw The Way of Water 19 times in the cinema. Love it with all my heart.
19 times haha nice
The fluid from the Takum’s brain stops human aging, that’s why humans hunt Takum.
can’t wait to see which different navi they use for the third next year!!! going to watch it in 3d is gonna be so fucking sick!👍🏽
Stop idolizing Elon Musk.
Elon Musk is a bad person but Space X and Tesla are still are legit companies with great positive impact on our world .
No, I won't lol. Also what does that have to do with anything?
Poor Justin, i feel you, man.
well if its any help fungus are not plants their actualy a seperate kingdom and closer to animals they eat things fungus dont photosynthesis they eat away at rotten wood, metal or flesh
Fun fact, in the wild there are no recorded attacks by orcas on humans in history. Only ever in captivity
i came here to cry again with you guys 😢

I have been looking forward to this since the movie came out ❤️❤️ love you guys!
I can't wait for Avatar 3 next year.
An amazing sequel that was well worth the wait, possibly my favorite from the Avatar movie franchise 😄💙🎥💧
Tell me you have already seen the movie without telling me you have already seen the movie.
You shed as much teara 😢 as i did lol beautiful movie in evwry single way possible.
Sincce you're doing Futurama and South Park, is there a chance you two would want to react to Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel?
James said that quaritch is the villain for all movies…but there’s gonna be a change in motive aka spider
It's amazing movie. 💙 Jim Cameron is a genius
Well to make electronics u have to use resources metals and oils to mine those metals so the technology was most likely the reason for earths demise.
Recommend McFarland USA, really good movie with Kevin Costner
This is peak content. UptheVickers🎉❤
3, 4, and 5 are being made they recent all got pushed back. 3 got push back 1 year and 4 and 5 got pushed back 3 years
Will we be seeing any more fast and furious or have you guys decided not to Co to he with it, I only ask as its been a while but you guys did seem pretty invested in the characters plus the next one is brilliant
