@@wildrosie I’m not a television person , I’m definitely not an AD person So the struggle is REAL The trick is , is to put your video on and then go off and do other things , just let it all play through and then watch it properly later Up there for thinking Down there for dancing
Your set up and planning (not to mention your music choices) for your vids are becoming an artform in themselves. They are a joy to watch on all levels .. 30 minutes fly..
I have come to love your little house which with your hard work you have bought back to life, along with the forrest it sits in. A Sunday morning catching up with your endevours is always a treat.
Your videography is outstanding. I see you behind a camera making world class movies and editing them into Oscar winning projects. Your work needs attention.
It seems like your windows are pre-1930s, aka heartwood. It's nice seeing you taking care of them. Modern Swedish windows are seldom made with heartwood, rather from less denser wood that rot within 1-1.5 decades. Also, have met people approaching window reputting as a Zen meditative process 😎
Amazing young woman! Regardless of the age of each viewer, you inspire us! We can all make a difference in our surroundings! You've accomplished great projects this past few months!
Doesn't it feel good to get a dreaded project done! You don't realize how energy draining the constant weight that project has on us until it's finished. At least, that has been my experience. I am amazed at your power and grace of life. Thanks for sharing it with us.
You really inspire me to be more diligent and creative in my own day to day life. Tomorrow I repaint my shabby kitchen cabinets! Thank you, Rosie. Happy Autumn!
Not just getting started. During hardship too: "Well Rosie did like this, or Rosie made a drawing first, maybe I should try that, and so forth. Thank you Rosie!
I loved painting something before I had to paint old windows in my dacha near Kiev, and after 6 years I see some spots for renewing😅 Hopefully I'll have more peaceful work there next year...🇺🇦
The attention to details on the windows will be worth it in the end. I also had the tedious work. A suggestion for the box around the water intake. You could make a bench of out of it and then the rest along the side that isn’t under the roof part could be a flower box / planter.
I had to repaint 22 sides of doors in my house….and all the paintwork. Absolutely hated every single minute, but when I’d finished I was absolutely elated! Felt like such an accomplishment. So glad you’re sorting this ready for winter. You’ll feel great when it’s all done and looking so lovely. Well done!😊
It is a blessing to watch the videos of a person who does both women's and men's traditional chores with the same skill and fearlessness. I also admire your physical fitness (the bicycle hardships!) and mental resilience. And your videos are informative, documentary and poetic at the same time. Thank you! P.S. When pulling a long and thick nail out with the claw of a hammer, it helps a lot to put a thin piece of wood or something underneath the claw while pulling. I don't know why, but it works...
Well, those beastly jobs are done now and you can feel chuffed with yourself that you don’t have to revisit them for quite a while. I understand the feeling of non-accompaniment, because it’s basically maintenance, but still a necessary part of owning a home. You have accomplished so much since you bought this place Rosie, in addition to showing what can be done, single-handedly, at that. Bravo! 🎉 we love the videos. Thank you for sharing. 😊
I’m watching this video with automated subtitles, because i’m not able to listen to the sound at the moment. The subtitles translate the sounds of the sanding as applause 😂😂 You go girl💪🏽💪🏽
I absolutely love your channel, and two weeks in between makes want it even more. The way you always keep coming up with your own way of doing things is inspirational. If I wasn’t tied to the UK with family, I would really love to try your way of doing life. Keep up the great work 🥰🥰
When I have to do boring chores (such as certain housework) I always listen to audiobooks or podcasts. It helps a lot, beats the boredom and even makes it pleasurable.
I love how you made built in furniture for your house. Can you please give us a tour of the house and show us all your storage units, please? A floor plan of the house would be very helpful too. It’s very inspiring.
I love fixing old things, it connects me to the person who made it in the first place and gives me a feeling of satisfaction that I am preserving something important!!! Love the efforts you make to do things right😊
Is there something you can't do? The boring glazing turned out very well. At first, I was doubtful about the color of the window lining. But it turned out very well. Softer contrast to the pale red house. The whole video was very beautiful with the dull colors contrasted with the bright colors of summer.
It's Sunday night /Monday morning (almost 1.00am) in New Zealand and I found your peaceful, inspiring video so calming to watch. I can now sleep, feeling relaxed. Thank you Rosie 😊 It's always a pleasure watching your work in progress on your home
I really loved the music that you opened the video with. That and the videography made it so atmospheric. I too have linseed oil paint that I picked up the other day, and I need to paint my wood store. I was advised that if the wood is old, to first coat with linseed oil, so it conditions the wood, then go over with the paint. I hope the tedium of working on windows goes quickly.
Yey Rosie 🎉 ❤. I'm glad you are getting your windows 🪟 finished. You should box out where your kitchen water comes into the house. Stuff it with insulation, so your pipes don't freeze. We had to add heat tape++ insulation for all pipes 😒 ,my water lines kept on freezing 🥶. It sux to wake up to no water, no coffee, no shower 😒
Maintaining your home, pays dividends over time, due to the high costs of replacing any item there in, as you know doing it yourself saves a lot of monies too, but also teaches new skill sets , and gives one a sense of achievement , wishing you the best of luck, p s to dry cloths one has a poll the length of the bathroom 2 meters high and hangs cloths via coat hangers, a knotted rope will also do, knots 10 cm apart = clothes don't gather in the middle of rope, and leaves bathroom window ajar (slightly open to allow damp air from cloths to leave ???) and close the bathroom door , cloths dry over night weather depending ,to remove old paint one uses a wire brush in a drill at low speed with a mask and eye protection move item to be sanded outside if possible.
Hi Rosie 🩷 what an amazing person you are I’ve watched you from the beginning of your Channel absolutely amazing your achievements well done you 🥰 you didn’t like doing the windows but look at the love you’ve put into them!..you will be warm and snug this winter I hope!….last year I worried about how cold you were so this year with your wonderful deck (would look great with a Christmas 🎄 on it lol ) and your log fire blazing away and home made food you will be able to reap all your hardworking hours and toil now comes the reward! Enjoy Rosie I know you will continue to strive to perfect more I’ll look forward to it all but will be nice to see you have at least a cosy evening soon. Much love from the UK 🇬🇧 xx
So tedious, sanding but when you are sitting in your cozy living/sitting room there will be a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment 😅 I live for those moments 🧡💚🩵
Congratulations Rosie on finishing your deck 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I admire your persistence with all the window necessities…as u say, just cos it’s necessary, doesn’t make it any easier 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Totally agree tv rubbish look so forward to seeing what you up to next you amaze me if I would love to do what you do but think it’s a bit late for me now , wish you were on every week ! ❤
Looks like you'll be ready for winter. It all looks so nice too. That's what we're doing in Pennsylvania. Right now maintenance on our 40 + year old oil burning furnace. We use a wood stove too but the furnace allows husband to get a full nights sleep.
Wow great job Miss Rosie love that green your painting with and what an awesome deck nice to see you made a other video thank you for bringing us along !!!God Bless you!!!❤❤❤
I so enjoy watching these scenes from your life. Your creativity astounds me, saying this knowing you’re feeling like your creativity has been stifled. But, as I see the clothes you’ve made, some of the woodworking inside your home, and view the majesty of fall’s colors from the drone footage you’ve shared, I’m overwhelmed!
Ok, you inspired me to do that last bit of gardening before winter. I have been procrastinating, but autumn onion sets are planted, and garden beds cleared with a layer of compost on them. Next I have to clean out the greenhouse. Good luck finishing your windows!
FYI, I’m also scraping paint on my house, window seals etc. and found the oil painting art pallet knives work exceptional well as the blade is at an angle and very thin yet flexible and the handle easy to grip and the tool is inexpensive and lightweight. They can easily be ordered online and come in different blade shapes. ❤ your Chanel
For easier paint removal you can use a heat Gun with a paintstripping nozzle and a sharp scraper. To mitigate draft, you can apply selfadhesive sealing strips the frames.
I have been reading about your experience on the PCT and can see you have grit and determination in spades. So much of life is grinding through projects/experiences we may not want to do. Do you keep in touch with Speedy and Prince? You have inspired me to learn new skills: this winter it is spoon carving and knitting a sweater. Nothing on the scale of what you are doing but baby steps. Enjoy your fancy olives.
It’s amazing how massive the improvements are when you pick up a tool. My windows need a ton of work. I actually need new ones. But alas it isn’t in the budget. I will try what you have done next summer. Thanks for the inspiration. I actually feel like it’s doable. 😊
great job fixing your windows, it may seem a boring, tedious task but windows are such an important element in the house, especially during the winter time, it's through which you connect with the outside. You did a great job!
17:48 I'm absolutely sure that you could apply for a Guinness World Record in the category of the most beautiful hands in the world as a carpenter! It's amazing how beautiful and well-groomed they are despite such tough work! Please take care of them! :)
Finally, a new video! Thank you! I know you don't like advice and you have a sensible savings mode, but if you get the chance, try renting a thermal camera to check for heat leaks - it could really help you out in the winter!

Tip for cycling in the winter; get winter tires for your bike! Makes it so much easier to cycle on ice roads!

One thinking love so much is your honesty in all your work and you not afraid to try well done you ❤
You could always make a piece of art out of the broken window for now. Fix the break with silicone and maybe use glass paint. Like a suncatcher.😊

YES, the windows! A hassle, but I'm glad you fixed them, although I believe that your outside panels are up for a re-paint next year. Also: heat guns!
Love watching your videos, you figure the task out and you do it so perfectly! Even with your errors you still keep going. Amazing!
