  • Summer Sunscreen Roundup! My last sunscreen video of the series is ofcourse my favourite chemical formulas! I am focused mainly on Asian and European items which has always been my preference. I explain why and the chemical filters I look for! I've also thrown in some reviews of the sunscreens I get asked about all the time! All the sunscreens I previously reviewed in the past I still love in case you were wondering!

I never really cared much about sunscreen. I live in a tropical island that is sunny all year round and no one seems to care much about sunscreen on the daily if not at the beach. You have made me see just how important it is and now I'm kind of obsessed with sunscreens. Now I never go out in the sun without it. thanks, Renee. I'm proud of my lil' collection.

Astrid Arocho I wear it when i am home and not going anywhere. I never used sunscreen as much as i should have. It took me a year for it just to be a habit and part of my skincare routine. I just grab for it without thinking about it. I do use it all year long.

In my home country in south america, people also don’t use sunscreen. It was worse for guys ‚‘cause it often was seen as something only for girls.
Well luckily the media is making people more aware of the importance of sunscreen.

The Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen Aqua Booster Mild SPF 50 PA++++ is a very underrated sunscreen. It has perfect texture (when dried as you mentioned) and it doesn't have alcohol and only contains chemical filters which are safe.
I hope more people will use this sunscreen to ensure that they don't suddenly drop the product line.

I’m African and I get that “glow in the dark” finish with the avene emulsion spf 50. So if you’re a POC, the avene emulsion spf 50 wouldn’t give you an invisible finish. On the other hand, I use it under makeup and it’s lovely.

Garcia Elisha it's not bad. Feels nice going on, but once it dries down, it doesn't feel moisturizing. It's hydrating though. For light to medium skin tones. I have the slightest cast, it's really not that bad on my light-tan skin tone. It's unfortunate that it does leave a cast on darker skin tones

I’ve never used to use SPF because I’ve always gotten an allergic reaction to it each time I used it. Because of your videos, I’ve started to really look into the ingredients of each product I’m putting on my face and reading up on it. Anyway, I’ve been using La Roche-Posay’s Anthelios XL 50+ Ultra Light SPF and it’s amazing. It doesn’t clog my pores nor flare up my skin. Your skin is on another level. After I saw your review of The Ordinary products singing their praises I ordered several myself and never looked back. Dealing with hyperpigmentation, I have a huge love/hate relationship with sunscreen. I can never seem to get past the greasy texture, white cast and smell. I'm trying to hold myself back from ordering half of your recommendations from this list!

Thank you so much for putting these incredibly informative and detailed videos together. I've been using Skinceuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50 on my dry skin, but after a few hours, it dries down to a matte finish that causes my foundation to be patchy. Hopefully, I'll have better results with the Heimish Artless Glow Base and Tatcha Silken Pore products you mention in this video. Cannot wait to try them!

Great suggestions, I will keep an eye for them! My current favourite sunscreens are the Nuxe Melting cream SPF50 or Delicious cream SPF30 (if you don't mind fragarance), the Frezyderm Velvet Face Cream SPF 30 or 50 and the Avene Cleanance Solaire SPF30 (the 50 gets too "whitecasty"). But all these are for the European market (I'm in Greece), not sure about the differences stateside. Also, can't wait for the sunscreens the Ordinary is releasing and the Survival line by NIOD! I'm already expecting your review! 😊 ❤

Renee, I waited to view the video because I had an appointment with my dermatologist to have my lesions/moles removed and didn't want to get hyped about trying anything new while I wait for my skin to heal. Besides recommending that I use very mild cleansers for the next few weeks and a light skin care regimen she highly recommended that I get a better sun screen. Viola, now I've watched the video and I'm armed and ready. I truly need a sunscreen that helps with this sebum. I can definitely fry an egg in this Atlanta humidity. Haha. Thank you sooo much for informing me on Shiseido Anessa Essence UV Sunscreen Aqua Booster Mild SPF 35 PA+++
OMG after years of trying to find a sunscreen that ticked all the boxes I feel I finally have and would have never of guessed it would be a Japanese one. But after researching finding out that the Japanese sunscreens are far superior than any American and yes, even European ones. After many soul searching trials and many errors I almost gave up hope on the sunscreen quest... This sunscreen arrived one week later beautifully packaged from Japan via Amazon website. Wow this stuff is amazing, how a physical sunscreen hybrid that disappears on application thats easy to spread, that's hydrating but yet mattifying, waterproofing, that's bullet proofing but while being gentle on the skin is beyond me....
You are so right with using a hybrid that offers the most broad spectrum protection and this one is incredibly balanced with long lasting really photo stable formula which also really works with sensitive skins. This is a great everyday wear sunscreen and the gold version Milder SPF 50 PA ++++ which I haven't tried yet being more for summer wear or when doing workouts, beach, water sports and being out in hot intense sun.
Thanks again for your Fab videos and letting the world 🌎 know about this gem 💎 of a sunscreen which is pretty much holy grail stuff... 😇🤗

Thanks Renee. Always interesting to get reviews on sunscreens from other places. If you ever get a chance to check out Aussie sunscreens we have all the European filters legal here apart from 1 I believe and sometimes used with zinc that we've had for years. Though there are still those that use older chemical filters as well so you have to be diligent. Issue is they don't have to list non sunscreen ingredients as it is considered a therapeutic (drug). Would like access to some of those sunscreens in your review to try. The European ones they have here are often alcohol based and the Korean ones aren't that easy to find.

You have been such a savior for my skin! Do you think you could do a skincare routine for oily/acne prone skin during the winter/fall? I never know how to calm my skin during these months and it's insanely frustrating.

This has come in hand as I am running out of my Kicho and have been shopping around for an alternative. Thank you Farmer is popular here in the UK as it is sold at Cult Beauty. You've given a great deall of options though, and as we are approaching autumn, the sunscreen needs to change as well. Many thanks for the sacrifices of walking around Two-Face style with sunscreens! :D

Lord have mercy!!!!! You are a skincare genius! Im glad to see you mention Thank you farmers in your lineup! I love their sunscreen. And their serum is sooooo hydrating. Amazing to use for those using Retinol as it really boosts hydration to the skin. Thank you Renee for another amazing video.😇

Thank you so much for your amazing videos. I watch a lot of your video and understand my skin more. I tried few products you introduce like Manyo Galactomyces and The buffet, especially upset with you DIY facial mist. My skin is very sensitive, dehydrated but they all turn out really good on my skin. I have never found a sunscreen that works out on my skin so I keep watching your videos, hopefully can find the sunscreen for my skin. Tks for sharing!

What a great rundown on sunscreens. Thank you. After hearing how great they were I recently tried two tinted mineral sunscreens in the last couple months, Australian Gold and one from Elta MD. I had such hope but they both broke me out and I'm dealing with the aftermath. Now I'm on the last drops of my old Biore Aqua Rich Watery Gel and had ordered another bottle. If I had just waited a week I could have been confident enough to try a new sunscreen you recommended. Timing, it's all in the timing! Next time though.

Thank you for the reviews on the scent of the sunscreens! I am very sensitive to scents and certain scents can cause my excruciating migraines so I have to be super careful with my makeup and skin care products. I really appreciate your comments about the scent! Thank you!
