I’ve been an OU fan since the 70’s, listening to them on the radio with my dad when we were fishing. We modeled our elementary “midget team” not sure if that’s politically correct anymore 😂 I was a big Buster Rhymes fan myself, it’s crazy how kids are getting paid now, and back then I would have paid to play a down for OU😂 Won’t bore you anymore, awesome memories, but they’re DEFINITELY What I consider a blue blood program 💯💯💯

Oklahoma
Alabama
Ohio State
Nortre Dame
Anyone else is another tier or a Blueblood by association or rival against the top tier... enough said

I like to use the Military ranking Blue Blood status..Time in service medals and awards won. Example 5 plus Natties and 3 plus Heismans make you a 5 star General, 4 Natties and 2 less Heismans 4 star General ect
My take on blue blood vs new blood .
It's like old money (ie: inherited rich tradition, wealth, and lineage.) And new money (ie: recently acquired wealth and leisure) they both rich but they are different.

I haven’t looked it up in the dictionary, but Blue Bloods is royalty. There’s only probably 5 to 6 programs in the history of college football that classify this. IT IS about the culture history and heritage that may go back 100 years.

Blue blood is set in stone from history. Change the title to Dynasty. Yes Georgia is a recent dynasty. Not a blue blood that takes atleast 75 - 100 years of rich history.

Alabama

Notre Dame
Army
Navy
The service schools may be controversial and maybe should only be considered if you factor in the entirety of college football history. The modern era (post WW2) probably wouldn't consider them.
Georgia, Penn State, Florida State, Florida and Miami are historically good but not Blue Bloods.
You can make the case for several schools (Tenn, UGA, Clemson, PSU, Miami, FSU, FLA, etc) being a part of the royal family, but the unquestionable bluest of blueblood aristocrats are:
OU, Bama, tOSU, UM, NU, USC, and UT. These schools fart purple velvet.
I base my criteria off of:
1) Total Number of Decades of Relevance
2) Nattys
3) Conf Titles
4) Win/Loss Totals
5) Heisman's
6) All Americans
7) Draft Picks
8) Bowls Played
9) These Schools Have Also Had the Lion's Share of the Best, Most Notable Players, Coaches, and Personalities in the History of the Sport.
What exactly does being a blue blood get you? A plaque to hang in trophy case? I know of a team that has won MORE national titles this century than the 7 you mentioned on line 1. Guess we one of the ETCs.
tOSU and michigan have each a 2 titles since '70. They been good but not win it comes to winning that last game. Same for the horns. Not too many titles since '70.
Nebraska fell apart when they made the brain dead decision to fire Frank Solich for not winning 11 games every season like Osborne did. They fired him after a 10-3 season. His replacement never won more than 6-7 in a season. Solich coached their LAST 11 win season btw.
Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Michigan are non-debatable blue bloods. I personally would also include USC and maybe Texas and Nebraska. Up until 20-25 years ago, Nebraska would have made the list for sure. Penn State is close. Miami, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, and their ilk are good but not blue blood. With another great 10-20 year run, maybe Georgia could move up.
Blue Bloods easy list; Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, USC, Oklahoma, Michigan, Alabama. Nebraska a historic program and Texas has had some good periods. They lost their respective titles. They can get back with a title or a decade of natty contention. Oregon and Penn State?!? Please..
A USC fan said USC is a better program than Oklahoma because they have TBOW! That is why he left OU!! It was on another UA-cam channel this was said.

@@dwayneoukid No he's a representative of OU, and anytime your starting QB can go out and shine for your program you do it. These camps are full of the young talent we're trying to recruit. So, Arnold can go out and showcase his skill and possibly connect with some recieving targets that are catching passes at these events. It was a whole 3-4 day event. It's not like he's running the camp circuts and neglecting his responsibilities to OU. We'll be just fine...

Dline even worse.. If Ou can get as many db;s and wr's as they want then so should Bates and Bill but year after year they underachieve in recruiting.. Bates best year was Stone and Okoye and both are Oklahoma kids and it took everything he had to get them to stay.. Ou better have much improved running and Dline play this year or Ou will have troubles recruiting Oline and Dline in future "like we want"
The “Blue Blood” conversation is the dumbest conversation I’ve heard over and over my entire life. Who gives a flying “F” word. It’s like saying which teams stadiums have the best urinals……who cares???? The people who care about that crap also think that the Bowl Games (now, outside the playoffs) actually gives a good look at the following year and mean something. usc had no success in 80s with the exception of marcus allen outside of the pact 10 was being challenged by UCLA, sc does not have long durational success sorry that is the fact.
Penn State was independant for years they did not play conferance or conferance titles for how many years. oregon has been relevaNT SINCE 2009 FOLKKS SORRY NOT A LONG TIME. Lsu could be but alm,ost all their natties is recent. and 2006 mattie was a joke.
