In February 2014 one hundred twenty one dogs and more than 60 other animals were rescued from a suspected Jefferson County, Ark., puppy mill after authorities discovered them living in filth and suffering from a lack of basic care.
Jefferson County Sheriff's Office called in The Humane Society of the United States and other area organizations, including Central Arkansas Rescue Efforts for Animals, The Humane Society of Saline County, Out of the Woods, RedRover, and Sallis Ranch Large Animal Rescue, Inc., to assist in the rescue and removal the animals.

I was saddened when the pet shop closed down at the mall down the street from where I live, because my daughter and I would visit the pups there and even considered adopting from them. That was BEFORE we learned about puppy mills. Boy, we were disgusted and heart-broken to see how those innocent creatures were being treated! My daughter and I were in tears. We continued watching your rescue videos, with your caring hearts and donations all around these animals actually have a second chance in life. I am donating to "Hope for Paws" and will also donate to HSUS. I AM very happy the pet shop closed down now. NEVER again will I step into another pet shop. My daughter and I are spreading the word about puppy mills and their disgusting process of breeding pups to her school and my customers at work, and will continue to spread the word. Those puppy mills MUST be stopped!!! Bless you HSUS!!

I can't express how thankful I am to the kind people who volunteer to save millions of mistreated animals. I love all animals and everytime I watch a video like this, I start sobbing. The world needs more kindness. Watching these HSUS videos, to see the dedication and passion of the rescuers, the joy of the dogs when they are saved, and the changes in lives..it is incredible. I am deeply saddened that some of the animals are just too sick to be saved., despite the best efforts of the rescuers and vets. But all of us must speak out, and lobby for stronger laws, which close puppy mills, put them out of business forever and always. And allow animals to stop suffering and have healthy lives in loving homes. We support HSUS with our good words of support - and our checkbooks. We urge others to do the same!!

The moment you walked into that puppy mill and those dogs saw you, you gave them hope to live. Most of them had probably given up on life!
I'm the ED of a small humane society in VT. We recently took in a 13 year old tiny long haired chihuahua. I took him home to foster, and completely fell in love with him. Then I saw some of his paperwork was from HSUS, and it said "puppy mill" and field exam. SO I googled this. And right in the beginning, after the dog with the teeth who couldn't close his mouth, it shows two chihuahuas in a cage, and the one in front yawns... and that is now my little boy! And he is SO LOVED!!!!!
What you guys are doing is truly amazing, like what you people have done to our society is truly, and I mean truly appreciated

Gina Rubio always adopt from shelters. at pet stores they abuse animals to the point of freezing them to death, wacking them to death, sometimes they don't die, and even letting cats run around chewing all the rodents and scaring them even hamsters that are bitten and died alone. This happens to reptiles there too.
