HI EVERYBODY! Just a little note about how I am going about this video and you may skip to different parts: 0:00-12:32: sharing my story while in college 12:33-19:40: what to know in order to become a software engineer 19:41- end: my interview process ALSO every resource is linked in my description, hope this was helpful! xx
Im a highscool graduate, and there's no computer science degree being offered in our place. So by following your steps and tips, can I be a software engineer??
I really want to be a software engineer and I’m 16 and my teachers they say that I can’t do it because it’s hard and I’m not good enough but it’s my dream and I will fight for my dream and I hope that god help me to reach my dream😊
Don’t listen to that stupid teacher 😩🙄. They’re giving out free coding to high school students. You should look into it and try it during your summer vacation from school.
OMG - all these female software engineers 👩🏻💻 are coming out of nowhere slayin'! 😻🙌✨ well, at least in my UA-cam recommendations! Yes to women in tech! 🎓💻
No it’s not....the basics are easier to understand, but after already completing all the Electrical Engineering math I had to rake even more math to get my computer science degree. Optimization techniques and neural networks are much more complex than anything you’ll see in engineering.
Computer Engineering and computer science are subsets of electrical and electronics engineering.. You not only take a whole lots of maths in electrical engineering you also have to understand the applications to circuits, signal processing e.t.c so electrical engineering is definitely harder!
If you’re here as someone with a Bachelor of Arts degree wishing to switch to Software Engineering, this isn’t for you. She has a degree in Electrical Engineering which in my own experience as a Software Engineer (and also hires Software Engineers), this is one of the MOST COMMON degrees you’ll find. If you wish to switch to IT from whatever field you’re in, here’s what you can do: 1) look for the Information Systems sectors of companies in your industry - say if you’re in a bank, find some contact who develops those in-house apps/tool you use 2) start as a Business Analyst / QA tester - we software engineers, love working with people who are familiar with the user perspective - you can use this as your point of entry without development knowledge right away
Yeah I have an art pedagogics BA and doing masters in sociology switching to front-end web dev. So maybe the arts part can help but I don't think it helps a lot :') I would love to start as a QA tester or in customer support

I am an Industrial Engineer, but I enjoy coding. It is my hobby and passion. Most of my free time I am coding. By coincidence I was considering your tips. I used the Cracking the Coding, I solved more than 250 problems in the hackerrank/leetcode, now i am on the competition and solving speaking loud when I am alone. I have the discipline to take 2 online courses monthly. And i have 3 apps already published in the App Store.About network I have talked to former colleagues from University. I had colleagues in CS. I also went to college for EE and actually just started my own career change to software development. I worked as an EE for about a year and a half now and am completely miserable. I am taking the bootcamp route though but it’s only part time, so hearing about self study is super helpful.
Thank you so much! This was amazing! I’m an electrical engineer for 7 years and I’ve fallen in love with software development. Can I become electronics engineer to software engineer
You are so inspiring, thank you! 😊
I'm also an electrical engineering fresh graduate and thinking of taking a bootcamp in web development and eventually making it my career. But my question to you is: do you not feel like you wasted those 4yrs in EE? I know from researching and doing self-study in web development that you will not be able to use the things you learned in electrical engineering.
So im kinda in a limbo right now if i'm gonna "throw" my electrical engg degree for a web development job.
Please help.
