Would it be fair to say that, like Anakin, Bode lost sight of the difference between loving someone and wanting to keep them in his life for his own sake (attachment)?
Bode betrayal wasn’t much of a shock compared to the first force push. With reverse grip and a blaster, i knew immediately that this guy was a Sentinel before the purge….
Depending on the person you're asking those are the same thing for a while the lore had Jedi Guardians (blue), Sentinels (yellow) and conselors (green). The Sentinels were yellow lightsaber wielding and consisted of either the Jedi Temple guards or special secret intelligence agents who use technology in conjunction with the force and their lightsaber to move about the Galaxy and could blend in. In certain writings Palpatine specifically targeted them for extermination because they posed the best chances of reforming the Jedi Order after falling since they can blend in. That later got discarded so it does leave Jedi intelligence agents like bode.
The whole game I thought he's either gonna die or betray us. Turned out he was gonna do both~ It was a bit bittersweet afterwards though, 'cause when you go back to the Lucrehulk after you finish the game you can find a force echo that reveals that Bode actually started to care for Cal at some point.
I didn't necessarily suspect him as a spy but when they said the base was under attack and before they switched to him holding Cordova, I immediately thought, "Bode!" So maybe in some subconscious way I knew something was up with him
Cal uses rapier techniques, proper dual sabers (a short and a normal sized one) and blasters. Man is the only Jedi who makes some sense from a historical combat point of view
I have to wonder if it’s simply European techniques crept into this game/the SW universe more than in the past… for example, I’m more of a gun nut than a sword nut, but I’ve seen East Asian swords tend to have little to no hand protection, vs their global counterparts. Much like a traditional lightsaber. I’ve no idea how East Asian swordplay works around this conscious decision, but clearly there’s doctrinal differences between the regions.

I couldn’t believe he betrayed us. I am like many of the fans where i don’t believe the first villain in this game is dead. Im also stuck with thinking it’s really bode that dies or is it the other guy portray bode? I belive more that it is bode because of the reaction he had when at tanalor when confronted at the door and he had to keep his daughter safe. That anger and love seemed genuine, like a father. Maybe some how the other guy survived but who knows. He was such a great character. I hope he returns some how in part 3. This game has one of the best stories I’ve ever played and the game itself was really fun. Wished they had fixed the bugs and optimized this before released because this would of broke records and they missed the mark for being cheap. Optimizing is very expensive but they would of made that plus more, oh well. Final thoughts, one of my favorite games of 2023. Oh yea the music is damn good. Sometimes I feel like I’m at Disneyland it’s just so good this music. Give this game a shot. It improves on everything in the first but optimizing the game 🤨
Funnily enough when I originally heard there was going to be a blaster stance I thought that Cal was going to use the lightsaber in a reverse grip much like how Bode fights.
Sooo random thing I am just now realizing. There was music in that final cutscene where Cal kills Bode? My game must've bugged because I didn't have music during that, I thought it was intentional due to the heaviness of the moment.
Him betraying is made sense, daughter and all. But the moment he talked about trusting your senses, pushed us away, pulled the survivor line, and whiped out the saber, I was actually screaming
It drives me wild that Bode destroyed the only real shot of fulfilling his desire for his daughter, because of his pride. All Bode had to do was trust Cal a little bit and show that he was a fellow Jedi, and I know Cal would ride or die with him to off the inquisitors who had a leash on him before making their way to Tanallor. Both of the main villians were only villians cause of their pride and ego. If either thought for a minute to just talk to Cal about what they want at Tanallor, there'd be a lot less fighting. Dagen would work with Cal in rebuilding the Jedi and restore Dagens dream of the Jedi Temple there, Bode would be a free man, with his daughter safe on Tanallor. Its frustrating how a single honest, and open, discussion would have solved so much.
That guy's shirt is made of something special. Just something comical about the sightsaber burn-marks criss-crossing his breezy cotton shirt as he just, stands up is funny.
I suspected him since the first time the temple on Jedah was under attack (it was obvious he led them). But if you replay the Courusant part and pay atention, you can see regret in his face everytime no one is looking.
In honesty I was quite let down by the Bode turn, the levels were the best part for sure (though if Cere was gonna die anyway did we need to try and survive 4 phases of Vader?), but his motive was just dumb. 'Cal, we met like last week but I can't let you share an entire hidden planet with a bunch of refugees hiding from the Empire, so I'm gonna kill an old Jedi, tip off the Empire to your master's secret base - sending Vader there to kill her - reveal myself an Imperial spy who got your other buddies dead, but I'm also a fallen Jedi too, I'll try to trick you into killing the one guy who has leverage on me, then plan to live on this massively remote planet with my daughter for the rest of our days', like dude just share the freaking planet. Boss battle was kinda weak, I didn't embrace the Darkness expecting to get a payoff for not going dark but it just means the second time round you get the QTE when you headbutt him instead, plus I still didn't really wanna kill him, but he was being super unreasonable and volatile even towards his daughter, his reason for doing all this shit anyway
I wasn't a fan of him anyway ... He was boring from the start and they turned him into this angry father that was obsessed with his daughter and like you say, wanted to live alone with her on a planet somewhere in the middle of god knows where . Dagan Gera should have been the main villain , but they somehow decided to go for the daddy thing and finish Dagan off early even though his story with the Jedi Order and Master Kri was really promising . Overall still great game, but I wasn't a fan of this aspect of the story. In comparison, Fallen Order did better when it comes to Star Wars dark side villains . Bode wasn't the right fit for this role sadly. Also, him still being dressed like a janitor on Tanalor was unispiring . After revealing himself I expected they would give a bit of a dark side guy looks.
9/10 story telling would have bought the game if my pc woudnt explode from playing but as a jedi fallen order lover i hope that the devs will make this game optimize
The outfit Cal is rocking in the final fight is cool af, if i dont know better I'd say its the same as Luke's outfit at the end of ANH when Leia gives him, Han & Chewie their medals 👍🏿🫡
I knew the second he had a daughter he was going to betray us the question was how, when and to what extent. I had figured out the Jedi thing out when he grabbed the lightsaber after the boss fight with the grand republic guy. Well written and executed twist.
I guessed he was bad but didn't see the Jedi twist. I can understand doing anything to protect your children but i couldn't have killed unless it was them or my children. I guess in a way thats how Bode seen it, he was a very well written character and I wonder if the Jedi Survivor wasn't meant for him.
11:41 he does… You almost ruined that tho😂😂😂 Funny how he also tried to protect her, but also be the only one to harm her😂 23:09 did he double tap for Cordova???😂
It would’ve been interesting if it was revealed that the inquisitor who killed bodes wife was revealed to have already been killed, and bode finding out he did all of that for nothing
Force wielders can learn to mask their presence or force signature even other force wielders. This is how Palpatine was able to hide in plain sight for years.
At first, to be precise the moment he first met and had a chat with Greez at his cantina, revealing he's the only one (beside Cal) who survived the dogfight at Coruscant, I had doubts about this guy, but his trustworthy acts throughout the story (until he revealed his true color ofc) had my suspicion subsided. Betrayals always make good plot twist.

I knew this was gonna be awesome and wat so u know he’s at it again, a gun slinger. Man I was shocked in this game. Many jumps and turns. Anger, rage, sadness, joy, empathy, this game has it all. It improves on everything in the first but optimizing the game 🤨
never trust a non mandalorian with a jetpack
2:56 that slow mo of Cal using the force to throw the storm trooper into the approaching Tie fighter was fkn *AMAZING* 🤌🏿💣💀🤯👍🏿
I’ll never understand how force sensitive people can’t feel other force sensitive people even though they can feel the force all around them!
He killed Master Bra'tek.
The way Cal had it with Bode in the end. Brutally executing him with a blaster with his daughter there.
Bode survived an unsurvivable situation.
And he did it more than once. The man was always gonna die by cals hands.
I had a feeling he was a traitor, him being a Jedi that was surprising
19:53 neat trick
Funnily enough when I originally heard there was going to be a blaster stance I thought that Cal was going to use the lightsaber in a reverse grip much like how Bode fights.
Bro for a second i thought cal was obi wan

To the Actors
Sooo random thing I am just now realizing. There was music in that final cutscene where Cal kills Bode? My game must've bugged because I didn't have music during that, I thought it was intentional due to the heaviness of the moment.
The textures in this game are intense.... damn
Him betraying is made sense, daughter and all. But the moment he talked about trusting your senses, pushed us away, pulled the survivor line, and whiped out the saber, I was actually screaming
is nobody gonna talk about how cool this guy’s lightsaber build is? it looks dope
I think its Dagen lightsaber. In an echoe he stole it from his corpse.
what i love about the who chase is that you could really just feel how angry Cal by his speed and intensity
The twist he was a Jedi was actually pretty cool and unexpected but yeah he was straight up much of a good guy to not have his own agenda
I haven’t gotten to this part yet but you mean to tell me that all this dang time, Bode is a JEDI?!
yep i was very surprised even tho i sensed somehow hes gonna betray us just bc i didint trust him xd
Things don't BODE well for him...😅
@@sougotokiwa8439 OH you
He is another survivor, but went rogue. He is also a ISB- "The Imperial Security Bureau". So he's a spy.
@@sougotokiwa8439 comment of the day 😂
I guessed he was a traitor as soon as he pulled the tie fighters away in the start and the other guy died

It’s not a Star Wars story without some sort of betrayal
I never saw it coming that bode was a traitor, this was one of the best games ive ever played
In Rick and Morty S4, Rick kills Tabby for the wedding and the killing of Bird-person
9/10 story telling
would have bought the game if my pc woudnt explode from playing but as a jedi fallen order lover i hope that the devs will make this game optimize
That Bode looks like Gaston
When bode hurt bd1 : this is the dark side and nothing else.....
It seems im the only one who didnt expect him to be the bad guy I really liked bode
You're not. I didn't expect him to be the villain either. I genuinely thought he was gonna be the Han Solo to Cal's Luke Skywalker.
19:18 lmaoo why he do BD like that?? I don’t know why I just find this part funny when he start throwing hands.
Tbh, I thought he was going to die tragically, especially when it was Cal and Bode vs Dagan
I guessed he was bad but didn't see the Jedi twist. I can understand doing anything to protect your children but i couldn't have killed unless it was them or my children. I guess in a way thats how Bode seen it, he was a very well written character and I wonder if the Jedi Survivor wasn't meant for him.
Why did cal steal luke's celebration outfit
The white lightsaber in this game was amazing. I used it all the way through
Well this certainly doesn't *BODE* well.
11:41 he does…
You almost ruined that tho😂😂😂
Funny how he also tried to protect her, but also be the only one to harm her😂
23:09 did he double tap for Cordova???😂
Interesting finds
Bode nearly killed Kata 3 times in this. Yep he’s really doing what’s best for his family 😂
It would’ve been interesting if it was revealed that the inquisitor who killed bodes wife was revealed to have already been killed, and bode finding out he did all of that for nothing
Wouldn't Cal of been able to sense that he was a jedi. I know for story reasons, it makes sense. But for lore reason, it doesn't.
Not everyone has the ability to sense others Force sensitivity.
Probably not Cal, given his lack of experience and pared down training, but some of the other force-sensitive people probably should have.
Bode was chosen for intelligence work so he probably has experience concealing his presence from other force users, like other sith assassins.
Force wielders can learn to mask their presence or force signature even other force wielders. This is how Palpatine was able to hide in plain sight for years.
@@Banchoking thats not true at all. most force sensatives can sense other force sensatives. BUT, you can be trained to supress your force sensativity.
Bode pulls out lightsaber *surprised Pikachu face*
At first, to be precise the moment he first met and had a chat with Greez at his cantina, revealing he's the only one (beside Cal) who survived the dogfight at Coruscant, I had doubts about this guy, but his trustworthy acts throughout the story (until he revealed his true color ofc) had my suspicion subsided. Betrayals always make good plot twist.
I have a feeling that with the imperial commander Cal was trying to collapse his rib cage from all directions
Like how Tanalor changed Dagan, becoming a father changed Bode.
Is bodes lightsaber orange or red ? And is he voiced by the same person who voiced Charles in RDR2
“I knew it from the beginning, it was so obvious, as I suspected, i wasn’t surprised” 🤓🤓🤓🤓
I saw leaks of cal fighting bode but I thought cal just turned to the darkside and started to kill everyone I didn’t expect it this ahahha
After General Shepherd I’m not surprised anymore, I was only surprised he was a Jedi
I knew bode was a traitor in the beginning when he took that hard left to supposedly distract the starfighters
At 5:18 how does Cal fire off 2 charged shots back to back???
Thought i was the only one that made Cal look like Anikin to symbolize their eventual demise to the darkside like Star-Killer thus the cycle of good and evil continues.
>>Says he loves his daughter
>>Constantly puts his daughter in danger and outright attacks her with the force towards the end
Father of the year, this guy.
The whole time he was actually a Demond that went by the name Gay Ni↪️↪️a
